@@RichardDeHove Really...I had a feeling you might say that. So many new Electronic Sound Devices are popping up and they are actually quality items! Just traded in a big item I wasn't using and got the SPECTRAVOX which is quite fun to play and run the DFAM through. Makes it sound even more "beastial" or is it "beasty" ...? Now I have to find more Modules and Synths to trade in for the Erica Synths Nightverb 😭
@@EleniEliades_ So true! Loads of excellent devices around these days. The best part of that imo is being able to zoom in on the sound you really want. I had a DBA Rooms reverb for a good while. It was almost there but there was too much I never used. Sold that and "surrendered" to a Big Sky. Of course it sounds good but it's definitely not "me" like the Nightverb is.
Hey Richard I have both nightverb and nightsky. And one thing about Nightverb disappointed me: the freeze mode. If you freeze the buffer you can’t play new notes wet, only dry, if crank full wet no notes at all! The nighsky plays new notes reverberated in freeze mode…😢 is there something I missed?
Agreed, it would be better if you could play wet over the freeze :( In this video I played around with the freeze function but had a Zen delay before it in the chain. That way at least you have some delay to play with: ua-cam.com/video/g749xUEikFY/v-deo.html
Nothing in the demo is synced up so it's wide open on how to link everything. I'd probably have a master clock coming in (ERM Midiclock) and send a DB-01 and LXR-02 a copy each of that. Otherwise the LXR could be the master and give a MIDI out feed to a DB-01. The Zen I have unsynced and just tapped in a time for a little healthy slop. Haven't synced the Nightverb up yet - does a reverb need to be synced? Will try it eventually but there's a lot to explore :)
Glad you asked :D :D Maybe like me you hate seeing dust and greasy fingermarks? Closeup under lights is even more unforgiving. Before recording I carefully inspect the surfaces and have several long-bristle soft paintbrushes to give everything a final once-over. If there are any other marks then rubbing alcohol does the trick. When not in use some gear is covered in black cotton but I can't bear to have everything hidden so a lot of gear inevitably sits exposed and gathers a new layer :/ I even bought a mid-sized hand blower and air filter thinking this was an answer but it only blows away the surface layer. It's such a battle I thought I might do a video about it :D
Agreed. The LXR is pretty crispy and although it has a lot of filter choices all of them feel a bit harsh and gritty. Here everything either gets the Zen's highpass with resonance, or the Nightverb's multiple filters. There you've got the bass and treble controls, but also the low and high damp controls which act like two filter envelopes. There's so much interaction between all the controls on the Nightverb but I think the damp controls really beg for more investigation.
Definitely everyone should listen to this with headphones
:) The Nightverb is on wide stereo and the Zen is tape mode ping pong.
fantastic !!!!! ..... simplicity !!!......
Nice jam!
Oooo😮!!! Hot DAMN 😅 that sounds STRONG. I've got to listen to your killer Groove again ~❤
Thanks Eleni. I think the reverb creates the whole mood in the second one.

You caught me definitely mate, monster abgefahrene sounds….waiting to hear more from you with the night one🖤! Best greeetz 🖖👽
"abgefahrene" - had to look that one up - I like. Thanks as always Somnambule
Oh that Nightverb will be add on my wishlist 😁
Excellent grove! 👍
badass!

@@RichardDeHove I hope Erica will update this on next firmwares
Incredible! How would you add a DB-01 to this setup connection wise?

oh yeah!
how do your instruments have no visible dust? :)

@@RichardDeHove thank you for the detailed explanation! And yes, I very much relate. I appreciate the lengths you go to ensure a clean appearance.
I feel like these pedals help smooth out the sometimes harsh tones of the LXR

sick
gosh zen gain full clockwise? is to compensate low volume of lxr on clean sounds?
I don't look at the gain knob as input level, for me it's more like "tube overdrive amount" . It'd be a shame not to use that big fat valve.
@@RichardDeHove sorry i was talking about input level on zen, i never cranked full
@@ex1stenz Yes, I was talking about the Zen too ! No harm in cranking it if you like the overdriven sound.
Where is the cowbell
Surely something worthy of its own video ;)
