I've seen various videos on sound design and synth fundamentals but this explained it so well that I actually understood these things for the first time. Every example, simile, metaphor, and analogy was ON POINT and helped me grasp the concepts better. Thank you so much!

Great explanation on synthesis , complex ideas with analogies! My major at Berklee was music synthesis so it’s also very satisfying that Berklee has a great educator explaining these ideas online and free to start. You want to go in deeper than take their online courses!

Your a genius, this is a great presentation. It quite literally explained everything I need to understand how a basic sound system works. I'm working on a project right now in the Unreal Engine that requires me to generate my own sounds and I haven't explored those systems yet so this really helped me a ton.

Funny how I've used many of these terms every day for my entire life and never contextualized them with their core physical meaning. Thanks for a great video and I'll never let my ego talk me out of watching a "basics" lecture again. 🙂

The frequency animation confused me a bit. I understand the concept of frequency, however when increasing the frequency in the animation, the shape of the wave is altered. The higher the frequency the tighter space between the peak and base of the wave gets smaller. So does increasing the frequency also alter the shape of the wave like this? Or is it just a logarithmic representation of decreasing wavelength as the frequency goes up?
