Kudos to Gino 🥃 I owned a restaurant as the executive chef and bar manager for 19 years, started with my parents. It can be brutal and rewarding. Gino is absolutely right about how as the owner you're helping the staff through so many things in their lives. You give your everything to the place and get satisfaction of making people happy with your craft and watching families grow. Though you sacrifice yourself for it. Due to lack of quality cooks though and slowing of business in 2022, I sadly just after Thanksgiving. Support local restaurants and everyone should spend some time in hospitality.
More people need to hear that your life is your sandbox! Thank you for the great content as always.
Mmm I’m 30 min in and wow I hadn’t even thought about it I stopped drinking a few years ago but the idea of going into a restaurant that actually is looking out for your well-being as well as a customer is very comforting. A great connection is made that way!
Beautiful conversation ❤ amazing hour and twenty minutes
Only a few minutes in and omg I'm in. I've been working in the restaurant business for a while and this just makes me feel renewed. Love this guy's approach to his passion
Finished the episode- some great takeaways here that can be used in my life more confirmation that everything I do affects and shapes my life and others in ways I have no idea of knowing
Quotes and notes of the podcast:
1. If I win, it is because of the team. If I lose, it is because of me.
2. Before you ask about a pay raise, ask yourself if tomorrow you can go to the market and get paid that much more money.
3. Make yourself indispensable and put yourself in a position to succeed!
4. Standard operating procedures are great, but you need to massage everything to become greater!
