This is exactly the build I would love ! From drive train to the walkthrough box, what a perfect platform and you absolutely did it out of the park, I have built my own 2 rigs and 2 sailboats and have researched 100's of builds and this definably top ten !
The pictures of the previous build in it looked really cool too. Loved the aesthetic. Cant imagine what this one looks like. Going to continue the video now.
A gallon of water weighs 8.9 lbs. 58 gallons of freshwater capacity is about average for a mid-size 5thW. With a raised suspension, driving a rig like this on the highway, at 65 mph, while carrying a max load of water probably is not a great idea. You can do what you want, but some manufacturers, like Jayco and its liability carrier for instance, will deny warranty and insurance coverage for any accidents where its insured vehicle was carrying in excess of 25% of a full tank of water. It alters the center of gravity to such a degree, they consider the rig unsafe for the highway.
@@hmmm2564 You may be right. But, your particular insurance carrier may not agree. Unless you pay extra for a rider covering your home made or prototype RV, your rig will probably be lumped in with all other RVs. I did say a full freshwater tank "probably is not a great idea. You can do what you want." I do agree with you that if you want to have a full tank of freshwater, one should fill the tank as close as possible to your final destination. I believe Jayco has recently amended its warranty to allow for 5 gallons of freshwater. This would provide enough overnight dry camp water to brush you teeth (if you use tank water, and not bottled water for that) and wash your face. Not enough for even a military shower. This to reduce the possibility of unbaffled water sloshing about in your tank, and to reduce the possibility of water affecting the handling of your rig on the highway at 65 mph.
Great input, we always fill up close to our destination for two reasons-- safety of course and gas milage secondly. This vehicle does have an upgraded aftermarket suspension that is spec'd to the weight of the vehicle with the 58 gallons of water.
If you are stuck in the sand and there’s nothing to tie up to winch out if you have a shovel and a spare tire dig a hole bout three four feet in the sand hook winch to spare wheel and burry the wheel and winch out I got stuck in the desert and so did two tow truck drivers and this is how they got us out
Most killer build!!! The only thing missing is solar, add that to the front of the roof area and I’ll take one when it’s done! Haha. Definitely a BEAST. Nice work🙌🏽
That’s super dope. My only concerned about the artificial grass on top of the roof. Will it be able to dried out without leaving a moldy smell or causing the roof to deteriorate.
I’d like this in white, feel like the dark colors might make it hot. Also the turf on top seems cool but I’d assume that would get pretty hot as well especially in direct sunlight allday
After looking at vans and tiny houses I realised quickly a van is to small and a tiny house needs land so a box truck is the perfect compomise for full time living and the best value for money platform if your smart about it. Way easier to build out and way more options because you can use regular house products in most cases and the extra roof space means a practical amount of solar so I find it a crazy choice to put fake lawn on the roof instead.
Maybe on the next build! We decided to do the couch so it was comfortable for passengers and allows for a dining area. With a murphy bed there would be no place for additional passengers
You need to get a mic for your interviewee's. I had to turn up the volume to hear him, then you start talking and you are real loud. Otherwise great video and real interesting
I have been wanting an ambulance build by I am 6' 3" and would love one this tall inside. Can you tell me how often an ambulance is available with this kind of head room.
It's a nice vehicle. But I'm just wondering, after 6 months of s***Hit the fan, where are you going to get fuel from? That's if someone doesn't take it from you before then!
Nice build!!
Wider box trucks make so much more sense than a van for DIY, straight walls and square corners.
You would think everything was square but we found out otherwise... haha
absolutely fantastic. great ingenuity and choice design features. who wouldn't want this rig.
Thank you! I'm sayin!!!
You sir have some skills Great craftsmanship keep up the good work

But you don't have to travel long with water. Does it make sense to compare a jayco with a skoolie or heavy duty truck
Thanks for the info. It was very informative and detailed. I was ignorant about that. Thanks

@@gtvansCould you do a van conversion for me?
I love that rig so clean thank you for sharing big hugs from MN
Thank you! more to come.

Awesome rig, I'm building one out of an RV with a shipping container box!
Rad! Stoked to see that. hit us up if you have any questions along the way!
Most excellent!

Solar is installed now, it wasn't when we shot this video.
@@gtvansNice. It’s seriously one of the best builds ever 🙌🏽
This is, honestly, VERY GOOD.
thank you!!
@@gtvans I've yet to see a "vanbuild" as complete as this, congrats!
my new favorite build.
Seems like it would be easy to dress up for Wasteland weekend too!
Insane build! A rooftop tent would be sweet up top
This is so sweet , I am loving this what a awesome job .
Washer dryer combo?
Great build. Would love to come out to tour your warehouse when I'm in town!
Please do!
are you kidding me? this is incredible
Amazing, this is an apartment.
Love that layout. How big is that box? 12 or 14? Thanks
Lets gooo! Super dope. Love the channel
I like how you put the yard on the roof.
Thats pretty freaking sweet. I'd want those windows automated.
No solar?
That’s awesome. How do we we get ahold of the builder to see if he could build us one
you can contact us through our website Goodtimevans.com/contact - thank you!
love this! whats the model of the truck this build is on?
that max track thing was cool
What is the overall length, bumper to bumper?
24ft bumper to rear box, the box width is 8ft

Question do you have to stop at all the weight scales on the highways?
Where to get those windows?
SWEET 😮😊
🔥🔥
What would a conversion like this cost approximately?
Over $100k I'm sure of it
Great build . Can i ask what the bathroom dimensions . ive got a 18ft box Isuzu im starting soon gathering materials now.
Excellent build, what is the brand name of the windows and where can I buy them? Thanks
What is the total length, bumper to bumper?
Who makes the sliding blinds for the windows?
Tern Overland is the company. I believe there are others that make them but that is what we used on this rig
Bro this looks so good at 33 single right at this moment i could hook up my tesla to this truck and drive to new york 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
If you cut out the word, "Like" from this video it's only three minutes long!
8:09 Blinds for interior windows.
Any ideas on how (or where) to purchase one of these (empty) box trucks, without the mods?
Careful with the Astro-Turf in the hot sun it'll burn your feet it's not cool like real grass.
Where are you guys based out of? Nice to hear it’s going well for an entrepreneur in this business
Ragnar is war ready!
How much did it sell for?
very nice built I just have a question is that a four season??
It sure is, it is equipped with the Aquahot air & water heating system.
What is the price range to build something like that on a Ford transit 16 foot box?

This looks like the Rockport 14ft Cargoport I plan on converting.
Cant wait to see it! send us pictures
Love it bro
Great conversion! Love the name Ragnar. Could it possibly be named after a character in the Red Rising series?
it’s deeper then that! we will tell the full story in the completed walkthrough video!

Everyone and their grandmother did a "turn my van"
Murphy bed along the sofa would be better.

I approve of the Ragnar name! 😎👍🏽
Good choice!

Was this an ambulance?
There's no gasoline in an apocalypse lol
Thankfully it's a diesel 😂
🔥🔥🔥
How much ?
this guy looks like a slightly different version of shaiden valentine lol
Factsss😂
Was thinking the exact same thing

🙌🙌🙌
🤲🏼❤️❤️
🙌🙌
I must have missed it but how is the electric powered in this vehicle? I don’t see any solar panels
Is it Rad? Why yes, it's Rad.
🙌🙏
is the Egyptian Actor Ahmed Malik your brother ?! 😂
The Ford E-450 chassis has too limited payload capacity, an Ford F-550/F-600 chassis would be a much better platform to build on.
Can you guys make one for a person that love playing pc games. Lol
what team does he film for? a legit team??
Needs solar panels, take the yard out.
sick sick sick....... find some OTHER, more descriptive adjectives.
Nice product, refilm it without the guy behind the camera. Or have him shut up.

It has solar, it just wasn't installed yet in this video as we were not 100% complete, full completed tour video coming soon.
No solar and no TV, seems like big negatives
it has solar and a TV! it just wasn’t done 100% in this video, completed walkthrough video soon!
