SUGGESTION FOR YOUR SHOWER : Just do half walls with a hinged lid and door. That way you won't cover up your window, it will be a more open floor plan ,and it will give you extra counter space if needed.

It looks great. 1 caveat I got is that you have certain essentials "boxed in" where if they ever malfunction, crack, or break, you'll have to tear up a large chunk on the interior in order to replace them. If your water tank ever freezes and crack, its trapped under your bed.
looks great! im not sure if you have an issue with bugs coming in when you open the windows but i think its possible to DIY removable screens with the use of magnetic strips, screen material and a hot glue gun! I am in agreement with you, its nice to be able to open windows when its raining and not have the water blowing in. Who doesnt love the sound of rain???
The most important lesson i learnt from a mobile lifestyle is you will need a LOT more water storage capacity than you think you will or life will be painful.

Because box truck is listed on my title, it has to be insured as a commercial vehicle I was told by Allstate; even though I'm in process of converting it & even though at this time it's not mobile.😢
i like so many things about the build, especially the back door and passthrough. you'll be living the dream when you add your wet bath, really clean, lightweight and well thought out plans here.
I have driven and see those 12’ Uhauls and often thought they might make a good conversion. I think yours is great! If all you did was add the bath it would be perfect. Seems like you thought of everything!!! Happy travels.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I paid $12k for the van. $2k for suspension components that needed replacement. As for the build I have lost count but about $10 in materials and equipment.
2007 is the year you want. The 6.8v10 with the 5 speed torque shift trans is solid. Make sure you do the full engine service, 100k plugs so make sure you swap those out and do the rear diff fluid change.
Thanks for the tips. Just had the trans serviced, diff serviced, new shocks, u joints, carrier bearing, all plugs and 4 coils replaced before leaving Texas . Ended up having to do a trail repair last week. Changed out the transmission parking break and lubed the 2 piece driveline. That was a hell of a job but got it done in the forest 😂 video coming soon
You haven’t left much room around your A/C for air movement - I’d suggest thinking about swapping the location to above the bed next to where your shower is going to go (refrigerant lines run that way anyway) and putting the cupboards you want into the cab-over instead.
Sad that you lost you’re best friend. I hope you plan on getting another dog. Dogs are great traveling companions. I sure love my little buddy as I drive my Ford Transit on vacation throughout Montana. I love this state. It’s clear and I love the mountains.
This is awesome man. I got a truck I like and have a choice between a 12 and a 16 foot box. The 12 will be easier to install but the 16 has more room. You did a great job making the 12 foot efficient so I may go that route!
I love the interior space of a 16, but honestly it’s just too big for city driving. I can park this 12’ easily in any store parking lot or public park. It’s the largest rig that fits in a standard parking space. You will have a lot of parking limitations if you go any bigger 16’ is great if you plan to be out of town in the forests or desert or camp grounds.

Well it’s part of the plan. The wet bath is also going to double as a work space with a fold down desk feature. I like to look out the window while I’m working on the computer

A long long time ago I read a story about a guy who bought a used uhaul and converted the inside as a living space. He left the outside as is with all the uhaul labels and stuff. At night, he'd pull into a place that rents Uhauls and stealth camp in plain sight.
A 2018 study on solar panels found that vertical bifacial solar panels can increase energy yield from anywhere between 5-30% more energy depending on a variety of factors. So with that information I wonder if it might not be better to mount panels on the sides of the box truck, as long as they don’t stick out too far leaving the top of the truck to be a dedicated deck. There’s other factors to consider here, like how shadows of buildings or vehicles will impact performance or increase risk to your panels from someone futzing with it or accidents, or maybe it’s less secure in that position. I honestly don’t know I’m just sort of spitballing. Living out of a vehicle it’s all about space management it seems. Making better yes of the sides for power output means the roof can be a deck or hold storage instead. Idk, like I said just spitballing and tossing an idea out into the ether
Great setup! If I could give you suggestion, you coule build the wet bath next to the door (in between the sink and the kitchen countertop) instead of where your plan is. Just put shower pan underneath the floor, and after you use it you can hide it using the same flooring materials. By doing the shower this way, you can use it kinda like inside-outside shower, and you can use the shower if you go to the beach without worrying sand inside the cabin. But otherwise, great job on the conversion! Love the clean setup!
Oh and btw, you can use shower curtain istead of permanent enclosed bathroom, makes the room feels much bigger and you can tuck the shower curtain away when not in use
Faves: *Breaker switches. *Extension cord under the cabinet. *Bump out windows. *Pass-through. *Clean/organized wiring. *Watermelon charger. 😁 Basically, no wonder people want to hire you!
You could leave your lounge mode up all the time sleep on one half it looked large enough. May want to push it in a slight bit more if you leave pulled out just to get thru easliy before bed time unless you need a large sleeping area so u dont wind up on the floor. 😂 It is not to set up. Just a thought. ❤ the build

“Trapped” is a little extreme. You could simply remove a few screws but for some people I suppose that could be a bridge too far.

This is such a dream set up but I would love to use the old Toyota U-Haul box truck.
The Toyotas are cool but their motors are not capable of comfortably moving a load like this. You really do need the v10 engine

May want to push it in a slight bit more if you leave pulled out just to get thru easliy before bed time unless you need a large sleeping area so u dont wind up on the floor. 😂 It is not to set up. Just a thought. ❤ the build
I typically do leave it pulled out, it’s very comfortable 😊
For bathroom you can do in floor and temporary curtain setup hope this helps, to give you more space
