    SUGGESTION FOR YOUR SHOWER : Just do half walls with a hinged lid and door. That way you won't cover up your window, it will be a more open floor plan ,and it will give you extra counter space if needed.

    It looks great. 1 caveat I got is that you have certain essentials "boxed in" where if they ever malfunction, crack, or break, you'll have to tear up a large chunk on the interior in order to replace them.
    If your water tank ever freezes and crack, its trapped under your bed.

    • @nomadbrad503
      @nomadbrad503  5 днів тому

      “Trapped” is a little extreme. You could simply remove a few screws but for some people I suppose that could be a bridge too far.

      I love the interior space of a 16, but honestly it’s just too big for city driving. I can park this 12’ easily in any store parking lot or public park. It’s the largest rig that fits in a standard parking space. You will have a lot of parking limitations if you go any bigger
      16’ is great if you plan to be out of town in the forests or desert or camp grounds.

    A long long time ago I read a story about a guy who bought a used uhaul and converted the inside as a living space. He left the outside as is with all the uhaul labels and stuff. At night, he'd pull into a place that rents Uhauls and stealth camp in plain sight.

    A 2018 study on solar panels found that vertical bifacial solar panels can increase energy yield from anywhere between 5-30% more energy depending on a variety of factors. So with that information I wonder if it might not be better to mount panels on the sides of the box truck, as long as they don’t stick out too far leaving the top of the truck to be a dedicated deck. There’s other factors to consider here, like how shadows of buildings or vehicles will impact performance or increase risk to your panels from someone futzing with it or accidents, or maybe it’s less secure in that position. I honestly don’t know I’m just sort of spitballing. Living out of a vehicle it’s all about space management it seems. Making better yes of the sides for power output means the roof can be a deck or hold storage instead. Idk, like I said just spitballing and tossing an idea out into the ether

      I have a friend with solar panels mounted on the side of his box truck. They do bring in a lot of power 💪🏻

    Great setup! If I could give you suggestion, you coule build the wet bath next to the door (in between the sink and the kitchen countertop) instead of where your plan is. Just put shower pan underneath the floor, and after you use it you can hide it using the same flooring materials. By doing the shower this way, you can use it kinda like inside-outside shower, and you can use the shower if you go to the beach without worrying sand inside the cabin. But otherwise, great job on the conversion! Love the clean setup!

      Oh and btw, you can use shower curtain istead of permanent enclosed bathroom, makes the room feels much bigger and you can tuck the shower curtain away when not in use

May want to push it in a slight bit more if you leave pulled out just to get thru easliy before bed time unless you need a large sleeping area so u dont wind up on the floor. 😂 It is not to set up.
