I just bought the Guardia D’Onore because it came with most accessories installed at the factory for a good value.
The guy that bought your bike is the luckiest sob ever! Thanks for the video and the link, i oen a guardia d'onore
Impressive upgrades! In lieu of the OEM heated grips, I installed Oxford Touring heated grips. They work a bit better, use the same handlebar controls, and are less expensive.
Beautiful bike. Smart updates. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely fantastic vid on your upgrades. I just purchased a 2021 V85TT and will also do some upgrades. Thanks from Seattle area.
Nice. For my 2020 V85TT I've installed the Isotta luggage plates on top box and pannier boxes and oem crash guards. Ordered them AF1. Also replaced the oem windshield the Givi Airflow windshield and it works like a charm at 60mph or less but at higher speeds I get some wind buffeting on my helmet (I'm 5'10") but it did keep the cold winter air off my chest. Best thing about the airflow is the adjustable height and the adjustable sliding part can be removed. Still waiting on my Givi hand guards. Both Givi products ordered off of Rev-zila. Might have to cancel the hand guards and reorder them from AF1 (been months on back order at Rev-z).
nice bike man! what a fantastic sound!
Thanks. My new (used) Tuono 660 sounds even better. I made a crappy video of that as well.
Complimenti , ottima preparazione , e bellissimo Sound . 👍🏼❤️
Beautiful bike it sounds great. Hope to see more videos of your travels.
That windscreen looks insane 👀
I still have some wind on my helmet about 1/2 to or higher on my helmet. It doesn't block my vision at all. I'm 6'0". When the weather gets hot I may put the stock short windscreen back on even though it's rough going on the freeway sitting upright getting blasted by freeway wind.
Hi Josh! Random question. Did you trade this bike in at the Aprilia dealer in portland? I was there the other day and i recognize some of the parts and the decepticon sticker
Yes I traded it into the Portland dealer for $9k to get the new V100 Navale. I didn't get any interest at all when I posted it so traded it in. I knew it would go for a good bit more at the dealer. I'm selling all the accessories I used to have on it separately if you end up buying a V85 and want some parts.
Does your quadlock also slide easily on your handlebar? Mine does a lot but it didn't on my previous bike. I don't really know how to fix this... It's obviously tight to the max
@@Tit_Tonio try to find some rubber strip sort of like super thick electrical tape. Check quad locks website or a hardware store.
What a sound!!!....which is the exhaust????....congratulations for your bike.
Great video of your upgrades! Where can I order that toolbox from?
I got it from AF1Racing. It was called "My tech underside toolbox". Not sure if they still sell it.
Can you pls share some pics on where you mounted the headlight guard grills pls?
Doesn't look like youtube will let me attach pictures in comments so I won't be able to. There are 3 bolts on the side of the headlight and the bracket the kit came with uses the lower two bolts and the bracket is inbetween the bar and the headlight. Perhaps if you go to some websites that sell them they will have instructions to download. I threw mine away after I installed them.
Très belle moto. Bonne route
What hand guard extensions are those?
Givi. I bought them at AF1racing.
Hi great upgrades. How did you remove the rear indicators for the pannier case ?
I didn't. They are still there in the original spot.
The only needed upgrade is grease! Like on every new bike.
The manufactures try to safe money everwhere.
On the Guzzi esspecially grease is needed in rear Suspension!
Thank you for sharing Josh. If you would not mind, are the top box liner and lower comfort seat OEM or aftermarket? I am figuring the seat is OEM (factory MG) but not sure the liner(s). I like the extra protection of the tall windshield, the anti-glare for display screen and the way you mounted the instant 360. Maybe see you out on the road/trail someday:)
You're welcome. The top and side box liners/bags are from Moto Guzzi as is the comfort seat. I thought the original seat was good but rode a couple hours and had a little pain and so I tried the comfort seat and now I can ride even longer without any pain. The liners are nice as they have handles and zip up so you can pull them out with stuff in them super easy. You can find most everything on AF1 racing's website except for the windshield.😉
I am thinking to get this bike.
What is reliability, and ease of getting spare parts?
Please and Thank you
No reliability issues for me. The drive shaft oil was overfilled from the factory but changed it myself along with the transmission oil, and engine oil at 900 miles. I also replaced the spark plugs and adjusted the valves myself from other videos. The heated grips install was harder but not impossible since the gas tank needs to be lifted a little. Parts can sometimes take longer to arrive but AF1 racing is where I order most my stuff and they are good about saying how long some parts may take. The bike is easy to work on compared to other bikes and cars so far.
@@StockySnail appreciate 🙏
Stay safe
Nice video and add-ons!
I’m curious, what’s on the label of your comfort seat?
Label/words on the middle cushion or the tiny tag on the side? It's the comfort low seat from Moto Guzzi.
@@StockySnail the tiny side tag.
@@Reboot27 It says Comfort 3D. I assume it's marketing to say is awesome. ;)
@@StockySnail thanks I hoped as much. I bought my second hand and have the same label. I thought is was the stock seat but I got the comfort as well. Not sure what hight but it fits me.
Thanks a lot
Where did you end up purchasing your V85TT from? I'm ready to pull the trigger but the nearest dealer looks to be either Kirkland, WA or Sacramento, CA? What about parts and service? This issue is what has been holding me back.
I bought mine from the Kirkland dealer. They were hit and miss as far as telling me when the bike was going to show up, when the cargo boxes came (they didn't show at the same time). I randomly drove up their (3.5hrs one way for me) to check on my bike and their said it was there but not quite setup yet. I called previously and was told they didn't know exactly. Drove up again after I had my bike to check on the boxes and they had them even though they told me they didn't have an eta when I called a few days before. So multiple calls, sometimes no call back, and always with incorrect estimates vs reality. Not the best experience but not the worst either. I'd consider ordering a bike from AF1 racing and having them crate it/deliver it for $700 instead if it would have prevented multiple trips up and I had to get a friend to help load it into his truck and drive it back.
Just in process of buying a V85 TT Centenario from Optimum Motors in Kirkland. They have just relocated to a new location and have half the space they will eventually have in the fall so I think things are a little stressed for them. They do have a few bikes and if you are interested in the Centenario, they have three, er two.
Will report back. BTW I am having them install a center stand, taller windscreen, and heated grips to the Centenario and I have obtained crash bars, a gps, and the Isotta back rest to install myself.
@@djsomers100 they are also opening a location in Portland end of August. The centrino is a great color combo. I almost had them switch my red one to it. The tall windscreen my not be tall enough if you are over 5'9". I was considering getting a second bike if the Portland dealer has enough bikes for me to test ride the Aprilia RS & Tuono 660, but maybe I should wait for the Guzzi v100 but wanting a light bike as my 2nd. V100 probably won't be light.
@@StockySnail Love the Centenario color scheme and so does my wife which is a huge consideration. I am 5' 11" and know the lower screen will not cut it as I am probably going to be 80% on the road and 20% backroad. Almost every review I see confirms this is my type of bike. Very capable but a little bit mellow. Did I mention "Panache" is my middle name?
Gentlemen, Have a relationship with the dealership and tell them that you love them once in a while. My bike needed some serious work done due to the cylinder heads recall and Brooklyn MG did an awesome job getting my bike fixed. Never go for the cheapest price possible, always buy your bike where you will be servicing it. Trust me on this one.
windshield link?
The one in my video or the Givi Airflow in the prior comment?
Has to be the most horrendous screen ever fitted to a motorcycle... time to buy a soft top car!
Bmw r1200gs style i think... which works any case. But indeed, pretty is another thing.
Mit einem grossen Windschild und einem Topcase bekommt man jedes noch so schönes Motorrad hässlich.
Yes the bike looks better without the large windshield and boxes. ;) I may switch back to the original windshield in the summer.
No offence....but that windshield is ugly and doesn't fit with the moto. Sorry...
I agree so no worries. I wish there was one that could deflect that much air and look good too.
@@StockySnail, in the end you will find the right choice,I'm sure about that. By the way,i love that bike 😀 Stay safe bro 🍻🍻🍻
@@StockySnail I don't seem to have much of a problem with the standard screen and I'm 5'10" but want to cover up my sat nav when I change the mount from the handlebar to above the TFT display so will buy the Ermax screen. It gets a thumbs up from 2 TT riders with channels on YT "Old Guy in Shed" and "Mopped Bua", they both say it reduces turbulence under normal use. Cheap as well, about $120 www.ermax.com/document/usine/chassis_photo/2019/chassis_photo_3608.jpg
Maybe a bit ugly, I agree. However, the million dollar question is.....does it work?
I'm using the medium height Ermax which looks better and surprisingly, works very well. I'm 6.02" the OEM screen was a joke. GIVI also makes a couple of screens for the V85TT and the reviews are good. I haven't tried the other brands, I also heard that the travel screen sucks as well. Well, I'm happy with the Ermax if anybody wants to try it.
@@tedmarakas2626 maybe I will try the ermax as well then. Yes the big ugly shield works. I wonder if Ermax is better or different for crosswinds.
