ok!
"Most amazing pawn promotions" in chess would be a good video
It’s all gonna be promoting to knight scenarios
New Phone Who dis probably but would still be cool
@@myrusEW Not necessarily. There are some incredible queen promotions as well.
@New Phone Who dis not necessarily it could be promoting to something else to prevent stalemate
@@myrusEW what about rooks and bishops
4:55 wow checkmate throught castling.... how epic is that
Very. I'd put it as the third most epic checkmate.
second place: mate by promoting a pawn to a knight
first place: en passant mate.
3rd one is absolutely sick!
Totally agree
The last one is SHOCKING!
I don't know why he said the last one was his favorite.
Captain Cal actually the third one is very famous I’ve seen it like 3 times before, maybe he has too and it isn’t that amazing to him anymore.
Second one was crazy too
4:52 the most passive aggressive rook of all time
Me: The thumbnail isn't a discovered check.... ohh
It isn’t tho?
@@voidzminer1017 technically no, but Richard Reti set one up from that move
"Anish Giri's 5 Most Amazing Draws" would make an awesome video!
Hahahah
Choose from 5,000
Anand vs Lautier, if not the best, is among the top 5 games of the 90s.
The third is like rubbing salt in the wound lol, it's like watching your supreme leader defect to the enemy side
Like Kasparov’s first, then Anand’s, but that king move checkmate gets the style points. Prefer the castling checkmate of your suggestion! Thanks for the Top Five’s 🖐 !!!!!
I’m a simple man, I see mark ruffalo I click

Boborj oki l KB

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So reti didn’t play the reti opening in the first example
He wasn’t reti for it.
Réti
He Rétired it
Just Some Mustache Without A Guy Yeah, that would be Réticulous!

When I was first learning chess from a very old book, I recall coming across an amazing windmill that Alekine pulled off in a simultaneous - which he may have also been blindfold. That game definitely stuck in my memory, although could not tell you the tournament - ring any bells?
2nd one is my favorite. Got a beautiful chance to see Windmill Tactics.
Not really that good because after Rook takes Queen, Kings goes to G6 and white is losing the bishop on the next move. So the advantage won is only 2 pawns.
Checkmate with king my favorite! Anand was very imaginative!
that bishop g6 is one of the most beautiful moves i have ever seen.
I have to say Anand's move in the 5th example was stunning, but I don't know if it qualifies as a discovered check
it is not discovered check but discovered to start attack on king
Anand's is beautiful but i had seen it before....the 3rd on is a new one for me and really amazing
Wow! The vision these guys have seems inhuman.

Vishy is considered the God of Chess in India for a reason! 🙏 He learns beautifully from his past games & previous mistakes. And that 5th one by him was extremely insane.
For sure! That fifth one impressed me the most
Self obsessed Indian 🤦
4:34 for me it’d be much more humiliating if he castled lol
10 seconds later: shows castling checkmate
Happy to see Vishy Anand sir's move is your favourite move...love from india..
A wonderful collection! Thanks.
Great Series!
Thx Simon
I really like this top 5 series by Simon!!
3:40 is art an drama. What a story that mate is
3 rd one is my favorite... Thank you
5th one isn’t a discovered check. Absolutely beautiful move but technically not a discovered check.
It's the most difficult of the 5 technically if he hadn't played h6
I’m kind of amazed Bobby Fischer vs Donald Byrne didn’t make it on. I mean it’s been talked about to death so it’s inclusion definitely isn’t necessary, but it’s inarguably a fantastic example of this technique
Tysm for these videos, exciting way to learn from the masters.
amazing job brother keep doing this stuff
Simon is always energetic & inspiring in chess.
4:37 would be more badass if 0-0-0# but I assume that either the rook or the king has been moved before. Such a missed opportunity.
Then this is definitely a missed opportunity.
@@tuipaopao He was probably too lazy lol
I recently had a game where I had a pawn move forward, which released my bishop onto the opposing king for check, and on the other diagonal, it released my queen onto my opponent's undefended queen
Haha who cares
Yes! My favorite game and one of the few I remember, I knew I had a winning position if I could just spot it because I had a discovered check coming up. I realized what I had to do was offer a seeming sacrifice, but he never got to take it because the next move after the discovered check was a back row checkmate with a rook and a knight.
Thank you for posting amazing games. Nice presentation. Congratulations 🎉
That windmill rook was actually brilliant I would have take the queen without taking the pawns but I guess I'm wrong
By far vishys master piece
Kasparov and Anand games were brilliant
thanks for the videos mate ! (from Canada)
I'd have to say the windmill -- because it was 3 discovered checks in one! Lol. Excellent, thx.
Not really that good because after Rook takes Queen, Kings goes to G6 and white is losing the bishop on the next move. So the advantage won is only 2 pawns.
Those discovered checks were amazing!!
Finally vishawanath anand made it to your video 😃
I literally just played the first check on my board because it is an example for learning chess notation in my first chess book I picked up!
It's so difficult to choose the favourite, they were all beautiful
Always love to watch a good windmill :D
Not really that good because after Rook takes Queen, Kings goes to G6 and white is losing the bishop on the next move. So the advantage won is only 2 pawns.
That windmill was sick af
Not really because after Rook takes Queen, Kings goes to G6 and white is losing the bishop on the next move. So the advantage won is only 2 pawns.
@@charlie172011 well yeah buts it's end game at that point with 2 extra pawns
3:50 first thing I saw was Knight takes bishop check. If they take with queen it’s mate as queen takes pawn. If they take with room it’s check when queen takes pawn and it has 1 move then it’s mated. If they take with pawn then that is saved
we need more such videos from our ginger beard of knowledge
Absolutely amazing moves! Love that windmill technique, feels so satisfying to pull one off. Suggestion: best underpromotion moves?
Ditto...also instead of going for the Queen with G5 when he did, I'd have taken the Pawn on A7 first, then back into the windmill with G7, THEN G5 grabbing the Queen.
Regarding underpromotions...check out 'Grandmasters and Engines couldnt solve this Puzzle, then came the magician'....pretty interesting puzzle solved by Tal..with a double under promotion (knight) for a failed defense.
The 3rd one is outstanding!!!
3rd one was sick but completely agree that O-O-O# would've been even more stylish than Kd2#
Castling checkmate would've been such a low blow
I find the last one quite amazing
Bishop g6!! It would take 50 million years to me find this move.
4:54. If there was live commentary, oh to be able to call out "and White castles for the win!!!"
A phrase having never been uttered before or since, I bet.
Waiting for this .
Awesome Video
Another famous discover attack was Kasparov Vs Karpov game 11 1985 when Karpov infamously doubled his rooks on the d-file and Kasparov played Qxd7
The Fossil check! A classic
lol seriously liked this guy plus 4th one was epic but the 3rd one is next level CHESS
These are Brutal!
The last one is amazing
Discovered checks are my favorite. Most of my opponents never see them coming.
Nice video enjoyed 👌👍🏼🙂
5:45 well known match Rxc2!!
6:53 this match also known Bg6 etc.
These are some big brain moves.
1:24 When I saw the bishop on g5 I realized the check mate on d8 and it made like boom
That's fascinating
those are some nasty discoveries
last one is insane
i love this channel.
Lasher vs Thomas, I prefer the checkmate that was used, rather than the castling move, as mate was given by a piece that had not been involved previously, and that did not move when giving mate. Classic!
Mind blowing
Superb.
Famous example of losing game, by move with any word grandmaster will always avoid.
In Polish.
Król bije konia w obecności Królówki.
Kasparov vs Anand was hella sick
Thanks for showing theoretical lines that could have happened
Plz do a video about Mikhail tal
Anand discovered is so damn creative!
My favorite one is where the king goes all the way to the other board
Anand has a beautiful mind
Please make a video on Anand's top 5 chess moves🙏🙏
4 hours. No a single dislike. I mean who dislike such masterpieces has to see a doctor, seriously!
Please do a 5 Brilliant Moves of Mikhail Tal video! We would really love to see one of those from you.
i will
@@illidanchess6326 Good. Post link here after you upload.
In Anand vs Lautier notice that h6 was actually a superfluous move. The black bishop can also go the other way and check on a3. As there is no way to structurally interpose this it leads to the same style checkmate. I saw this but it was also confirmed by Magnus Carlsen who did the Vishy quiz on his 50th birthday.
Wow!!! I actually got the last one and I'm very surprised!
2:13 was in yasser seriwans "winning chess tactics" book
3:33 what would Torre do if black played King g6?
The Réri mate is my favourite.
#2 is pretty cool
I did manage a windmill in an online game, took 3 of my opponents pieces with my Rook, but upon later analysis, it showed missed wins.
I had mate in one in the first move apparently.
you mentioned there’s a couple of ways to win at 4:27
what would be the other ways to win ?
How can we increase our calculation in chess...
Plz. rply me sir....
I love these videos please never stop making them
Omg i got a chess ad and thought it was the videoooo
How about showing how to get to this Position ?
4:40 0-0-0 # would have been even better in my opinion. Castling and deliver mate.... Rawww
Simon fuckin rocks
3:41 can someone pls tell me what is wrong with Kxf6+? (Update: I see now, black can take with pawn and apparently then the mate cant happen
