I’d have to go for Morphy vs Duke of Brunswick and Count Isouard, it’s barely even a queen sac but it’s a fun game. Also it would be interesting to see some games where the sacrifice doesn’t quite work, to remind us that they’re human too (and the ideas can still be instructive)
Magnus' Queen sac was incredible following it live. Impossible to win a world championship in a more beautiful manner, even if it isn't a super hard spot.
In my option, game 2 is absolutely incredible, Nez's sacrifices starting with the Queen... even invisible to engines, initially. Given it was a classical game makes it even more incredible, again in my opinion.
These queen sacrifices are so educational like you understand the concept of sacrificing ~ to gain huge positional advantage or counterattack. The sheer combination of rook , knight and bishops is so deadly
I watched some documentary on youtube about the development of chess playing computers. So the first time they tried to apply machine learning to train a chess computer, they just fed a neural network a bunch of GM games and wanted to see how it performed. When they tested it, the computer played a normal opening then immediately 'sacced' its queen for no reason, since it had learned that in GM games when someone just yeets their queen they almost always win in the next 5 moves, so it thought that was how to win. Got me laughing lol
