I love playing over Nezhmetdinov's games. To me it's a grave chess injustice that this guy won the Russian Championship 5 times but was never awarded the GM title. For God's sake he beat all of the world champions and super GMs of his day. What a great player! Thanks for the video, Simon.
Not true, he never beat Tigran petrosian. In fact he struggled to beat a lot of defensive players. But I still agree with your point, anyone who has a lifetime positive score against Mikhail Tal is deserving of the GM title, Bobby Fischer didn’t even have a plus score against Tal.
@@justinbieber8028 Why you naming Bobby Fischer here? Bobby Fischer lost to Tal when wasn't at the peak of his game, at the peak he won both the games against Tal.
No Reverse Gear Rashid. A monster of a player. His games are exquisite. I've heard stories from agadmator of him and Tal playing speed chess in Tal's flat, late into the cold Moscow nights, enjoying black tea and vodka. That would've been an absolute treat to watch.
Number 1 was the best Ive seen Simon's and other Analysis of that game and its in the most beautiful chess games ever played list. Lev P. told Yassier S. "I had beaten Rashid a dozen times and drew him a dozen times. But I would of traded them all to have played the pieces the one game he won against me."
Keep these coming Simon! I need your lessons in order to escape the level where players need two queens to checkmate my lonely king after I made my usual blunder in blitz.
@@disasterpiece7583 I use the resign button regularly. But some are like the knight without any limbs in Monty Python that think that you are like them and don't know how to mate with just a rook. You know these guys that caught your blunder but need two queens...
@@USEER-bxleo I have literally stalemated with 3 queens before while trying to disrespect my opponent. Needless to say I spent the rest of that day banging my head against the wall... Maybe that brain damage is why I'm so bad at chess.
My favourite is the positional queen sac against Chernikov. There is no instant reward, just compensation. I think I have seen people let Stockfish and/or Leela play this one out, and the general gist of it is: the sac is sound.
I think knight checks on B6 is also a good move as white has to take it with bishop, then queen takes bishop. White will move a7 pawn either 1 or two places to stop the immediate checkmate then black rook takes and white B7 pawn can't take if A7 pawn moved to A6since discovered check with the black bishop so king has to move to B8. Nothing can be done to stop a checkmate
The first game took 11 steps of calculation and much more because you have to take into account the variations and assure that king won't escape or it's over for black. Phenomenal calculation and pressured mate.
A positional queen sac? What? How? Oh, and spoilers I guess, but the killer move discussed at 5:25 is rook d8. Pinning the rook to the king and allowing queen g7 mate next move, regardless of what black does. (edit: except king h7 leading to queen h8 mate, also good)
Greatest Attacker ever, the best 6 years of his career were interrupted by WWII. Would have been up there with Fischer, Tal, Magnus, Kasparov and Morphy had the war not happened. Him and Harry Pillsbury would have been legends.
at 04:25 - My advice to black would be to liquidate, accept being a pawn down and play for a draw. How likely that draw is, I don't know but I think it is the best that can be done.
@5:23, If black had played Rg8, then the immediate response from white would be Rd8!! (Brutal pin) and the Qg7# will be unstoppable.. Black will have to throw in his towel
My problem is that I do not understand algebraic notation, so please make a video on algebraic notation (nick de firmian) in particular from the book please
Nhung Đặng while all good moves here win the game like knightg3 then you do kg1 and now checkmate is gone cause knight blocks queen so then its kxf1 and vlah blah, the way super nez did it was a forcing mate in 5 regardless of what white does. Knight g3 is a longer mater and is less forcing, but also requires less calculating. In a game of speed chess low on time you see knight g3 id bet.
In 6:47 wouldnt Ng3 work as well if the knight is taken by the bishop then queen takes rook and if Kg1 then the knight can go to e4 for example and Qxh2 would be mate
One of my favourite chess players. this level of chess without computer analysis is just an art form. No school like old school.
Psh
Chess continuously proving itself as true Art

5:27 The KILLER MOVE is Rd8
Saw that immidiately also
🙌
Ugh, i late
I see this move at 5:25-5:23 (4 seconds before)
very easy right?
Yep, after all the hard work was done, seen that killer move right away. Pen the Rook to the King. Checkmate next move, no matter what.
Number 1 was the best Ive seen Simon's and other Analysis of that game and its in the most beautiful chess games ever played list.

ahaha i feel u
i feel super bad for losing vs a guy that needs 2 queens to xmate
you know there's a resign button right?

Dont worry about me. With 2 Queen i will definitely stalemate you!

These videos are a great series, bro!
5:25 Rd8!!
Helal
Great , great , great games and players.
Rashid is my favourite player now!
Thank you very much
Greatness from 🇦🇿. One of the most talented players of all time.
it quite easy to spot the outrageously attacking moves, it just hard to calculate that they work
These are really really good videos. Funny, informative, crisp, well produced, just top notch content. Thanks so much!!
Just imagine a player with the combined attacking abilities and imaginations of Nez, Tal, and Ivanchuk. Wow.
The game against Polu was, in my humble opinion, the most fantastic combination ever.
This is a GREAT series... Thx Simon!!
Imagine Nez having StockFish 16 or Leela to help him prepare !! The modern Super GMs would dread to sit across the board with him for sure !!
Thank you, Super Nez is right. i want to watch these moves again, they're so good.
At 5:23 Rd8, black rook take on white rook and then Qg7 checkmate

Yes. RASHID is one of my favs also. Super dangerous player.
This kind of chess play is so creative, that we should call it a piece of art.
Make video on Anand's best 5 moves
I really enjoy this series. Keep it up!
The first game took 11 steps of calculation and much more because you have to take into account the variations and assure that king won't escape or it's over for black. Phenomenal calculation and pressured mate.
Rashid was the best atacker ever !!!!! 👍👍👍👍
plz make top 5 moves of mikhail tal
One of the deadliest atracker of alltime
Simon. Love QxB sac. My all time favorite. The Lock-Nezh Monster. Morphy-esque to the 2nd power!!!!
A positional queen sac? What? How? Oh, and spoilers I guess, but the killer move discussed at 5:25 is rook d8. Pinning the rook to the king and allowing queen g7 mate next move, regardless of what black does. (edit: except king h7 leading to queen h8 mate, also good)
Another great video from the very entertaining GM Simon Williams.
The king of puzzle rush before puzzle rush was invented
Positional queen sacrifice was way much satisfying.
My man doesn't need a queen to end you. Even I dont play I still love your videos and it's interesting to watch these intelligent moves
My favorite example is the first one so many sacrifices at ones
Do Tigran Petrosian's 5 most brilliant chess moves.
His moves are too defensive
at 1:29, c4 is a checkmate
He has many very attractive games on the board, for example with Tal, Lusikal and other players
There was a game for Commodore computers:
"Excellent Simon".
I always remember...
I'm glad I got 3 out of the 5 moves, as a beginner. 😌
My icon , role model favourite player of all time
5:27 yes! It is rook to d8! Sacrifice!
Greatest Attacker ever, the best 6 years of his career were interrupted by WWII. Would have been up there with Fischer, Tal, Magnus, Kasparov and Morphy had the war not happened. Him and Harry Pillsbury would have been legends.
I don't think Nez and Pillsbury are devoid of legend status to those who know their chess.
Rashid had no emotions superior than his genious logic.
These moves are to brutal and so great a human can’t deal with it Rashid nezmedinov 🔥
5 th one is my favourite!
5:26 Rd8 gg.
he didn't even mention that the last move was against Mikhail Tal.
at 04:25 - My advice to black would be to liquidate, accept being a pawn down and play for a draw. How likely that draw is, I don't know but I think it is the best that can be done.
example no. 5 is crazy I knew that position but its such an amazing sac i can watch it again
Tal is the best attacker for me
Legend never dies.
😱😱😱😱
What the hell is this..
This is unbelieveable..
This is a real magic..
Thank you so freaking much to share such a mind blowing vidio..
5:27 rd8
@5:23, If black had played Rg8, then the immediate response from white would be Rd8!! (Brutal pin) and the Qg7# will be unstoppable.. Black will have to throw in his towel
I strongly believe FIDE should post homously award the Super GM title to Nez! Even Tal was afraid of him!
Love this series!!
Last queen sac was disgusting. What a move
My favorite move is Qf6!
i wish rashid comes back and play a match against carlsen , it would be a match of century,
Hello Simon, my favourite example is all examples.
Nf5 was really cool the king is thinking oh god this is a slide problem and it would be cool to make a video about Lasker and capablanca
The best part is that I didn’t even know I was waiting for it!
And my time was running wild, a million dead-end streams...........
GOOD SHIT, SIMON!
Super Nez was such a monster tactician.
rook d8 is the killer at 5:24
Great line 👏
The only lack here in these series are GM Simon didnt show until checkmate...
4th one was my favorite but they were all filthy
5:27 the move will be Rd8
Which match last move? Who played with GM Nezh?
No attacking player is better attacker than Tal
My problem is that I do not understand algebraic notation, so please make a video on algebraic notation (nick de firmian) in particular from the book please
Mikhail Tal moves just can't be replaced... He is true entertainer...
Do more videos. I love it
Super Nez you absolute mad lad 🤙
Look at Nezhmetdinov's other games with Chistiakov, Kasparian, Spassky
Cool graphics!
Gotta love Rashid! No defense to Rd8.
Pls make a video on Mikhail tal
In the last move why didnt he play knight to g3 ????? It is probably the better move and will win the game more easily

All love to see Vishy Anand in India and across globe .It would be nice if u can prepare a 5 best moves of him?thanks in advance
Rook D8 is the move after rook G8.
I love gingerGM
Best Attacker is Tal, but he is tal's sucessor
#1 was the best
Why isnt there a tal top 5 video?
Favorite example? Of course, it's the greatest queen sacrifice in the history of the game
May be the second best attacker as first would be TAL
Please upload tal games
Its not enough to an introducing his games series that can exposed his talent
Very agressivo player
In 6:47 wouldnt Ng3 work as well if the knight is taken by the bishop then queen takes rook and if Kg1 then the knight can go to e4 for example and Qxh2 would be mate
Nvm the rook is defended by the bishop
rd8 killer move
Incomplete without the names of his opponents!
Favourite part boom!
5th example is the best
