Very nice puzzle, but I have a feeling that for this episode, Nelson used his AI to generate the image AND the plot! "Hello random stranger, want a key made of gold for no good reason?"
Not necessarily. The purpose, the drive of the characters in this story, is to present and solve puzzles in exchange for services, information, and items. While I do agree that there was no good reason for Bobby Fischerman to encounter a Hermit who conveniently has a golden key, it probably was not A.I. that generated the plot.
Maybe story reason? "The hermit from before purposely gave Bobby Fischerman the key in order for him to go into the lost ruins. What Bobby Fischerman didn't know was that the hermit was working with the Botanist... After a puzzle or two, Bobby finally reached the lost ruins. There, he spotted him. The one that lowered his elo to 280... The botanist! He was searching for the archeologist in order to steal his chess elo with the blue apple!" ...No, this would probably not work ._.
This is my favorite episode. The puzzle fits the story narrative so well. Being that Bobby's rating is so low at tha point he got lucky and poorly played to the point of sacrificing all his pieces but still ended up winning
Future plot twist: Bobby Fischerman plays someone a game of chess, plays a horrible move, and ends up in Patzer Prison himself! 5:31 There was an old rule in tournaments that said that if you checked the king, said check, and it was actually mate, the game was a draw (!).
Chess Adventures I love your videos. I want to be honest. At 2:10, I wanted to move my King to D6, to defend that pawn. Chess adventures I love how you explain that was a wrong move. You Chess adventures are such an awesome awesome awesome person, and your videos (all of them) are smashing cool, excellent superb videos all of them. All
tough moves to see in this one, very counter intuitive to sac nearly everything you've got, especially when your opponent still has a queen. very nice puzzle
After Kxc4 black's move Qxe7 is not forced! We must analyze other opportunities, as: Qd7 (probably the best, but still losing as the other), Qa8, Qa6+ & Qa2+
Nice of the hermit to give such an easy puzzle so the 280 can solve it Also imagine playing a low rating game and your opponent blundering into such a brutal combo.
When you win by accident. At 6:20, why would Bobby play Rf4 instead of e4. It looks like a safer check and thus seems more in character for someone rated 280.
If e4 was played first, black king escapes on Kf4. Rf4 happens because the bishop is forced to take it since all 8 directions the king could move would be an illegal move. All of blacks pieces blocks all safety moves.
@@lethalty6055 My contention is not whether that was the right move. My contention is whether it is realistic to think that a 280 rated player would actually play that.
I know for a fact that when Bobby Fishermen meets up with the others, he’ll eat that apple(fruit? Idk I’ve been keeping up) and his Eli will revert back to 2800
it would be funny if bobby fischerman went to the lost ruins and finds martin as the archeologist and they play a game if bobby wins martin will help and then you pair martin against himself and show it
Well, Nelson, now that you’ve set up a channel for the story lovers you have critics thinking the bar should be raised for the narrative 😂. I’m happy for Bobby’s luck, I think the story is great!
I saw this position before so when I saw ye pieces I realized r this position and solved it easily but it was very surprising that 2 pawns could checkmate like that
Great video, and I liked Bobby's thinking (I would think the same), but I was wondering why you couldn't capture the pawn on f7 at the start. What makes e6 the move?
u did'nt explain rook b6 move after Qa7+. the rook could block and if the queen takes the pawn then the bishop can fork king and queen defended by rook
I'm not really a fan of low elo players getting lucky in puzzles for no reason at all. This seems like the definition of "you can beat magnus carlsen with random moves"
3:45 when forked, can't black take with the queen? This will force a recapture with the e3 pawn, moving it closer to the king. It's still a 3 v 2 pawn endgame with both kinds right there so the outcome is a lot less apparent. My guess is still a white win but it doesn't seem trivial to me.
Bobby fisherman: Hmm… let me just accidentally checkmate black in 10 moves
Ikr
Our boy Bobby is down to half of Martin's skill level and still taking dubs
bobby should buy a lottery ticket after that
contrived azz plot this episode
Hell have to find a lottery first
@@citrosoda5370 This entire series is ‘contrived’, that’s basically the point of it lol.
agree
@@ShawFujikawa sure but this is especially contrived
Reminds me of that 75-year-old guy that got an accidental checkmate
Man the best thing when you're playing chess is when you accidentally checkmate your opponent 🗿

yes tru

Reminds me of a chess game, where i thought that i`m closer to losing with every move until i suddenly won.
What a hilarious checkmate, beaten by a pawn in the center of the board. 🤣🤣
The hermit kind of reminds me of gandalf😂
I love those check later were you sacrifice everything except the pawns you needs to achieve checkmate.
After Kxc4 black's move Qxe7 is not forced! We must analyze other opportunities, as: Qd7 (probably the best, but still losing as the other), Qa8, Qa6+ & Qa2+
He-he! Nice one this time! To put it mildly, Bobby's reasoning is quite comical.
Bro, the sacrificed all of this piece is thinking that’s what 280,s do not seeing the sacrifice had a purpose
Love the plot twists and story line!
I almost solved that. But my thought process was same as Bobby's
I appreciate these videos and all the work that goes into them ,also helps you get better at puzzles
Bobby has more plot armor then Kratos
I think Peter, Joe, and Bobby will meet each other
Thank you Nelson!
Incredible nice puzzle and an unexpected solution
black must be fuming being checkmated by a pawn while being up a queen and bishop
Nice of the hermit to give such an easy puzzle so the 280 can solve it Also imagine playing a low rating game and your opponent blundering into such a brutal combo.

Actually e4 Kf4 e5 would win the queen, right? But I guess it would end as a draw.

😎What a cool frame around this very nice puzzle. I really like this framework....
Plot twist: The botanist, the caterpillar and someone else are actually an evil team.
The hermit looks like a villager😂
I guess in the ruins is where the trio reunites.
Ruinites
it would be funny if bobby fischerman went to the lost ruins and finds martin as the archeologist and they play a game if bobby wins martin will help and then you pair martin against himself and show it
bobby's rating is 280 but he is enough smart
He is going where his friends are going
I disagree with the first move. E6 to F7 should've been Bobby's move.
he ignore and didnt see it, he was focusing to get a queen at first
@@irfanlol1 Thanks. There's also Knight G6 check as a potential follow-up
4:26 Bro literally sacrificed THE ROOOOOOOK
You made it seen actually possible for him to find the checkmate well done! Puzzle Island > Queen's Gambit xD
Oh wow this is such an adventure! :)
I guess chess really can make a guy come out of his shell!
I'm happy to be able to discover both the bishop and the rook sacrifices towards the end.
Extra space after the apostrophe @0:34.
Well, Nelson, now that you’ve set up a channel for the story lovers you have critics thinking the bar should be raised for the narrative 😂. I’m happy for Bobby’s luck, I think the story is great!
why isn't pawn to G3 an immediate checkmate?
I saw this position before so when I saw ye pieces I realized r this position and solved it easily but it was very surprising that 2 pawns could checkmate like that
I think the golden key is actually the magic key!
That's a cool puzzle
My kind of puzzle! I can blunder to win!
Love me a good pawn checkmate!
^_^
Idk about the plot in this episode haha, no shot a 280 player stumbles into all those crazy brilliancies. But the puzzle was great.
I would never solve see some of those moves, unlike Bobby Fischerman here. Then again, he solved it with luck ( and knowledge ).
Incredible puzzle!!
When you have a min Int max Luck character
bobby is just drunk at this point
What happened to caterpillar?
100% skill
Great video, and I liked Bobby's thinking (I would think the same), but I was wondering why you couldn't capture the pawn on f7 at the start. What makes e6 the move?
That’s because the bishop is attacking f8 so your passed pawn isn’t much of a threat
@@GlazedYeti ok, thanks
I feel sad for the people who haven't subscribed this channel.
He does remember there’s also more gold in the dragon’s layer so maybe that’s how they meet up pin this if you will do something like that
How are ordinary people just making chess puzzles
I have an idea, wouldn't it be better to present the full story first and then to explain the puzzle after?
u did'nt explain rook b6 move after Qa7+. the rook could block and if the queen takes the pawn then the bishop can fork king and queen defended by rook
Qe7 is a check
his luck is insane

It's pretty simple actually. The white king is close enough to defend the pawn that is on f4 and Black's king can't get to white's pawns at all.
Losing 90% of rating mightve been a bit much
First like
280 elo with 2800 elo essence😂😂
