The fact that this was The GATEKEEPER'S puzzle is symbolic since the winning strategy for WHITE involved so many impediments. The bishop was there to block the rook attack on the g-file when called upon. The bishop was also ready to block the rook on the 8th rank to prevent the skewer of the promoted Queen......and in the end, the black pawn provided shelter for the white king. GATEKEEPERS one and all. A thematic puzzle.

Fascinating how I manage to calculate the entire winning line perfectly, including the bishop sacrifice, then reject it because of Rb2 and if g8=Q, Rb8+ skewering the queen, and forgetting that the pawn queens with check🙄

Challenge:electric chess
Martin’s king and queen are electric, when they see another one of Martin’s pieces(and pawns) they become electric. The other electric pieces(and pawns) do not have powers to electrify Martin’s pieces(or pawns). When your pieces(or pawns) go near one of martins electric pieces(or pawns) it gets electrified and will die after 10 moves. When you capture one of them your pieces gets very electrified and dies instantly. Electrified pieces don’t have the ability to capture(I just added this to make it harder).
I keep looking for thematic references to the characters in the chess puzzles and I want to know if this is waste of time or not. Is the bishop a "gatekeeper" to the rook?

Challenge: flood chess
The board is flooding, every time you move, the next rank of that file floods and you can’t go there.
Example: if you play e4, e1 floods and your king dies.
Martin’s pieces don’t die when underwater.
If a file floods, you can’t cross it with the only exception being the knight.
Your pieces are immune for the first 5 moves.
When you capture, all files get one more square flooded.
Easy: no capture extra flood, 10 moves immune
Hard: if file floods, lose immediately
Impossible: hard+no immune at start

Nice puzzle. Although realistically, queen vs. rook is still probably a draw unless you're 2000+ or your opponent hangs a fork.
Please don’t rush the story . I wanna see the natural progression of it . I watch every of the videos and this one seemed kind of like it sped up the story a bit but I’m here for it either way
We need much more frequent episodes - at one stage it was 2 episodes per day. Waiting a week for each is FAR too long 😢

At 5:14. What happens if Black King takes Bishop, if the White Pawn Moves up, can the Black Rook come to B2, then B8 and skewer the White King just in time?

Is there a difference between sliding the King to the a-file on the 7th rank and doing so on the 8th rank? (I suppose you would like the King as active as possible, and in theory Kd8 would allow Rb2 idea Rb8+ which does not work because promotion comes with check)
So the red pills did not multiply the rating by 5 this time. 280 * 5 =1400. Bobby Fisherman would be the same as average Joe than.

It is so impressive how you put this story together. Just how you did it perfectly so that the red pill they got a few episodes ago which seemed useless was a massive game changer. As well as doing your new speedrun on your main. You deserve to be world famous xD

Feels like curing Bobby was too easy. The story feels rushed.
What about after Rb7+ Ka8
I was wondering myself because it seemed quite obvious at first glance (with the rook supposedly being guarded by the pawn, forking the white king and the pawn (and taking it, winning position). But I was just not paying attention and then realized: Actually, the rook would not be guarded by the pawn, because the black pawn is moving from top to bottom. Felt a bit silly afterwards haha.

Is the red pill supposed to make the user's rating increase to 5 times what it was, or is it some other pill that does that? If it makes the user's rating increase to 5x what it is, and Bobby's rating is 10% what it used to be, then Bobby's rating will be 1/2 what it used to be. That would put it at 1400 instead of 2800.

The red pill resets your rating to what it was at the very beginning of the series. Therefore it was not useful to Peter and Joe when they picked it up originally, but it helps someone how got their rating reduced (here, later/now: Bobby).
