Good day Sir ! I am changing the main board on a WHIRLPOOL WRF555SDFZ but I don't have a code in the label,,,,,,what can I do then ? Where can I find that code ? Please help me on this subject or I will have a dead unit after paying a lot of money for the board. Thanks in advance, Ramon Perera, Miami
This is a fantastic, concise and accurate video! It saved me hundreds of dollars!! Narrative: I was out of town when our refrigerator broke. My wife called for service and the serviceman came out and diagnosed the bad control board. The new board was ordered and on backorder due to Covid; the install was further delayed due to the holidays. When the board and serviceman finally returned 1.5 weeks later, he had a bad replacement board. After further delay and excuses, I canceled the service (requested a refund of our deposit) and ordered the board myself (Note: Amazon has a service that confirms the board is correct for the refrigerator model). The new board arrived 2 days later and I successfully installed it in 10 minutes. Fingers crossed that we get our full deposit returned.

Great tutorial. How do we purchase the replacement control board though ? I didn't see any link upon being able to buy it while watching video. Or is it the (W10310340) information here for getting a new replacement control board for the maytag 36" wide French door refrigerator?

A lot of people are asking where they get the code? The code is on your appliance label, located inside of your refrigerator on the right hand side. It will literally say “Code 0302” as an example.

THANK YOU! I replaced the voltage control board, but when I plugged the fridge in, the front display was blinking P0 000. I could not figure out what to push to get into programing mode (the other videos that I watched were not helpful, nor were the blogs that I looked at). Your direction to push the door lock and freezer down buttons did the trick. My fridge is back in business. My wife is happy and that is a good thing...

This is my refrigerator. My interface panel has intermittent blinking lights and the ice maker exterior shoot keeps popping open and close. It does this almost everyday now for a few minutes at a time. Cannot get water or ice when the is going on. Interior lights are on when door open and it still seems to be cooling even with all the popping and blinking going on. I know this video is a few years old. Hoping for some help. Thanks.

I also just replaced my water filter but can not reset the button what do you think the problem my be? Could it be the touch pad from the inside? Or would it also be the same part as in your video. Jean Veras, I took a shot in the dark myself and decided that the button on the keypad must be bad if it wasn't letting me into the code, sure enough I put the new touch pad in today and the freezer down button was apparently not working. As soon as I put the new touchpad in and plug the unit in, went through the sequence, it immediately let me put in the code. I just finished restocking a cold refrigerator and freezer with everything working! :-) So much for Maytag customer service communication... useless!

Thanks for the great video!! I suspected that our Control Board was defective and had actually scheduled a repair service call, but then I watched this video and thought I would take a chance on fixing the refrigerator myself. I have an Amana brand which is apparently made by Maytag. I used the number that was found on my existing Control Board and found a new replacement from Amazon for about half of what one cost from other suppliers, however, I also found some for less that were refurbished on EBay, but opted to get the NEW board from Amazon. Board came in about 3 days. Using this video, I was able to easily replace the old board with the new board. A lot of the other available UA-cam videos explained how to replace the board but not the next step which is the PROGRAMMING. Using this video I was able to easily re-program the refrigerator and it now works great. THANKS FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO.

My Son and I just did this; information is taken from the instruction sheet that came with the replacement board (obtained from an appliance repair parts store locally) and what we experienced: The program code for each refrigerator is located on the serial plate on the unit (inside the refrigerator on the panel near the right door) after the word 'CODE'. To program, follow these steps: 1. Press and hold the Door Alarm Keypad ('Door Alarm'). 2. Press and hold the Freezer Temperature Down Keypad (Freezer minus sign). 3. Release the Door Alarm Keypad ('Door Alarm') and wait 3 seconds. TIP: Timing here is important; Step 3 should follow Step 2 very quickly, releasing the Door Alarm Keypad as soon as you press the Freezer Temperature Down Keypad. 4. The control will display PE to indicate the programming mode. 5. Entry is confirmed by pressing the Freezer Temperature Down Keypad (Freezer minus sign) once more. [This is how you get it to go from PE0 000 to PE0. 000 where you can enter the code]. 6. Adjust each digit to the program code using the Refrigerator Up (plus sign) and Down (minus sign) keys. Move forward through the digits using the Freezer Temperature Up (plus sign) key. The decimal point indicates the selected digit. 7. Once all the digit have been entered and the program code is displayed, press and hold the Freezer Temperature Down Keypad (minus sign) until the program code begins flashing indicating it has been saved. TIP: If you attempt to enter an invalid program code, the control will not save the new code and will beep. 8. Open and close one of the refrigerator doors to exit the programming mode.

Great comprehensive solution. My Whirlpool refrigerator has many different types of errors: completely blank front panel LEDS even when touching the keypad, keypad lights up when touching the keypad, normal illumination of the keypad interrupted by power off are the 3 modes I observed. I suspect there could be more symptoms of the main control board failure mode. I purchased replacement board for $260 (net $200 after $60 core refund) and followed these instructions with success, completing the full effort in less than 15 minutes. Thank your for the valuable information.

Great video, thank you. I’m waiting for my board to be delivered. Is the 4 digit code written on the label on the inside of the refrigerator? To the right of the label showing the model and serial number, it’s shows CODE 0302. Is that what I use to program? Thank you
If anyone was wondering, you do use the code on the inside label of the refrigerator. The instructions that came with the board stated that you use the code, but the rest of the instructions were useless. Use this video for the rest of it. Literally took me less than five minutes to remove and replace the board, including the programming. Thanks again.

I have the same frig, had blinking lights and non stop ice flapper. First intermittent for a few days, then non stop for 12 hours. Then stopped cooling. Diagnosed the well know issue, just put in new HV board supplied directly from Maytag, #12920710 (which is the replacement for the original part, not to mention this is also the one that was in mine, with Maytag confirming that wants replaced it before). The installation took all of three minutes but it will not program. I've done it 1 million times and that's when I came and found your video and saw that I was doing it properly. However mine does not go off of PE0 000. And trust me, doing it right. I know the keypads are ok because they work in other combos. I can also get it to SE mode and scroll through all the tests and everything seems kosher. I'm so frustrated, tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I need to start cooking for guests coming Friday! What can I do!

Hi..Thank you so much. I'm pretty sure my refrigerator messed up when there was some major bad lightning one night My freezer works and refrigerator is barely cooling. The refrigerator you used as a demonstration is exactly what I have. Took me for ever finding any info on it. I've been without for the last month, sadly 2 days after I just bought groceries, my refrigerator surged out. Couldn't save anything. Learning to be a handy woman...lol I was hoping you could help me by locating the board I need much cheaper than I've seen on line. Thank you again.

These fridges with blinking lights and clanking ice door, have common problem (hv board bad) i found 12 volt on J6 fluctuating wildly from 5 volt to about 18volt. Used a power supply set on 12 volt on pin 2 of J6 and ground on pin1 of J6. That solved the problem requires about 1.8 amp at 12 volt. ordering board takes me a week. so im using my bench top power supply to run the fridge until it comes in. Could make a permanent fix this way with a power supply from ebay or an old computer power supply. 12v 2amp should do it. J6 is the upper left plug from the back view. ( i had already replaced 2 capacitors a few days earlier it did not fix it)

Hi Donna, I'm glad this worked for you. I'm ready to install a new one. If I may ask, where did you buy the part and around how much did it cost? Thank you.
@@speakyourmindinEnglish I believe I purchased directly from this vendor. I think I paid about $250-$260 but cannot find my receipt to know for sure. However, you can do a Google search on the model number to find out what it runs.
Thank you so much! So many videos on how to program the panel and only yours explains the actual correct sequence to program Thank you
Good day Sir !
I went through the whole program process but it will not save the code it beeps but will not go back to flashing?
Wont go back to settings after programming. Got it to work but ice.maker keeps going off by itself... wrong board?

Thanks.

Hi there great video. I have the same fridge my issue is the front digital board has lights none are flashing but I can't switch from cubes to water or go up.or down on the freezer temp. I also just replaced my water filter but can not reset the button what do you think the problem my be? Could it be the touch pad from the inside? Or would it also be the same part as in your video. Thanks

My family's fridge is not responding to button presses. I don't know if it's its age or something else, but it's starting to annoy me.
The only button that responds is "max cool" which, makes the other lights come on.

I have the exact same refrigerator in the video. Maytag MFI2067AES. Everything works great and it is making ice. However, the problem I have is it is not dispensing ice or water. Nothing. Should I replace the LV control board in the front or could it be the HV board in the back? Thanks,

Thank you of making this video. It's clear and simple to follow. Before I replace the board, how do I diagnose the problem to know if that's what needs to be changed. The temperature is flashing, alternating between 38 and 76. Thank you.

Same issue. Instead of buying an entirely new HV circuit board I was able to have mine re-manufactured through CoreCentric Solutions for half the price. It took about 2 weeks but works like a charm (and no re-coding).

My Son and I just did this; information is taken from the instruction sheet that came with the replacement board (obtained from an appliance repair parts store locally) and what we experienced:
The program code for each refrigerator is located on the serial plate on the unit (inside the refrigerator on the panel near the right door) after the word 'CODE'.
To program, follow these steps:

Thank you for your video, my kitchenaid refrigerator model KSRP25FNSS00 has a problem is : not cooling, not freeze on both side, and control panel on the front right side has no light show and can't adjust temperature, but the fan on the back still working. Is that a problem from the control board ? Need to replace ? Thank you very much for your time.

@@donnamook5172 thank you! Yes, I ordered it from Amazon, I followed the instructions from this video, all is well now.
