It's a shame because I always thought Dane just got caught up on the end of the whole Rogan vs Mencia beef. Rogan had just convinced himself that Dane was in the wrong to the point that he began swearing that Dane took something from him. It's just one of those weird things.
They're like high schoolers with their cliques, but it's good to see Dane doing good. Talented guy regardless of whether or not you like his jokes.
Joe's comedy us 100 percent not the same type of bits as Dane. Dane probably did take some jokes but a Joe joke would have stuck out like a sore thumb in his act at that time

I mean artists get accused of stealing all the time, problem is theres almost no original material left across art, music, jokes, movies. people could easily say any artist stole whatever it is they are putting out, but its pretty simple to understand people can come up with the same thing very easily and often

I'd never say Dane can't come up with his own material. I think he definitely can, and has, created his own funny jokes. However, he needs to stop pretending like he coincidentally came up with the same premises as Louie. The jokes he stole are so specific. It's not like one very broad premise... he stole 4-5 VERY specific jokes, that in hindsight were CLEARLY Louie's ideas.
Dude seriously. Like specific premises with specific punchlines. Just be honest.

It's so funny how public perception has 180ed since the original controversy. Louis has become a pariah for completely different reasons, and Dane took the whole thing in stride and is still doing his thing after all this time.
I also find it funny that Louis was so huffy about Dane doing the appearance on his show his way, because in my view Louis comes off more like the jerk in that skit than Dane does.

Louie coming off as the asshole in the show was completely intentional. Time and time again ‘Louie’ showcases how things don’t turn out the way you’d like them to, typically to Louie’s own detriment. It’s like the theme is “life is kinda shitty, and that’s funny”

Mmm no, he copied those jokes almost verbatim from Louis, he's still trying to play it off like they just happened to be the same. It's one thing to have similar jokes about similar things, but this was just blatant copy pasting.

It’s different cities and different crowds so Dane Cook could have easily said “I’ve been thinking about having kids and what their names might be etc.. then simple say “like my fellow comedian L.C.K. Said which got me thinking” maybe My 19 kids the first one will be named RRRRRRR” then you give props to Louie CK joke and put your own spin on”. If anything it’s still funny and you give props to your fellow comedian” done deal no harm no foul in my opinion and at the moment still just as funny if it’s a quality joke

@@jstdun agreed I just thought it was interesting that 9 months after your comment Louis is fully back in my eyes. Not just as a standup but directed a movie and is now going on podcasts and exposing himself to that world which he has never really done before. To the people that demonize him he will always be a monster but clearly he has been fully embraced and accepted by his peers in the New York comedy scene at least. That's all he will ever need.

Lost both of his parents to cancer just months apart. His brother siphoned millions of dollars from him for 10 straight years. Danes brother literally hid 800,000 dollars in cash, in a wall... When dane went to his bank to get his money, he had none. The only thing Dane had left was some stock portfolio's.
Everything else was gone. He had no one. Not his parents. Not his brother. Dane testified in court and sent his brother to prison for 6 years. Also, he's almost 50 year's old here. Stress. Stress is what happened, man.

Louis ck is absolute garbage, but go Dane for handling it. And now he has his new special which is fucking hilarious and brings you back to 2007. Thanks to Louis ck for giving Dane the opportunity to be better than him after forgiving him.
I think Dane Cook was a better performer and comedian. I do like Lois too dont get me wrong, but Dane killed in his prime. Also he didnt stand and told you a joke, he performed it. He would fly across the stage literally. A true artist. We all sometimes have copied a joke from a buddy and told it to someone else as our own. Who hasnt done that really? But in this Hollywood stuff it's like a sin. This really took my brother DC down and really people shouldnt just forget all the times he made us laugh because of this shit thing.
