      Thank you Kwstas,
      The blanks are delicate but worth the extra care.

    Now that is one nice lookin' pen! Too bad about the bleeding, maybe sanded through the CA at that end. It's still a nice addition for the personal collection.

      Thank you Ted,
      I’d be worried about additional sanding as I hit the bushing so closely that you can’t feel where the blanks ends and the pen component begins. I’m worried if I sand, it will render the blank lower than the component and you would feel the transition.
      Regards,
      Bob

    Wow, I'd be super proud to carry that around with me everywhere I go if I were you, in spite of the little "blemish" on the one end. I'd say that's hardly noticeable and I used to turn pens myself and am SUPER PICKY!

    Great looking pen, what is the reason you change to your turning bushings to micro mesh?

    • @RJBWoodTurner
      @RJBWoodTurner  6 місяців тому +1

      That way I can make sure I Micro Mesh back down to the bushings to ensure the pen components have a perfect fit.

    Nice pen, Bob! I love the pattern on that one.
    It was great visiting with you at MATE. My son Andrew is still raving about the show. I picked up one of Rick's puzzle piece blanks and look forward to turning it.

    Bob look at the video frame by frame from 4:16 to 4:18 as the blank makes the first revolution. It is very striking the difference the wheel makes.

      Thank you,
      Those buffing wheels are amazing and I use them on every blank.

    The only way to prevent that bleed is make a final pass with a sharp skew and not sand at all. Very cool blank - nice job!
