    Story 1: The thing here is that OP's sister thinks of children as toys. She got married and had other children to replace her eldest. Yuck! Plus, she says that she did it to get over the guilty conscience she felt for abandoning her daughter. She never mentions the damage and trauma she caused her child. She's a monster.

      Bet she wanted her eldest to slide in as a babysitter for the younger two! LIKE "didn't I have another one of these things around to help!!!"! SMH Truth, is probably that Jeremey was the one to force her to reach out after believing all her BS. She moved on past her daughter and just wanted to keep moving forward till hubby found out... This is gross! Even if Milly was the product of SA, which it feels like it is leaning towards being the case, there is tons of ways to deal with it rather then ghosting a literal child... (Like if you know you wont be coming back sign over the rights and don't pretend you plan on coming back!)

      Based on things said in updates I think OPs sister is suffering from some form of depression, anger issues, and maybe some survivors guilt. The truth for the abandonment might be that She hates her own daughter because of the loss of her former husband everything else is her guilt acting up but being unable to actually admit it.

      IF, and I can't say with 100% positively it is, but if this is the story I remember reading a while back, the sister admitted to OP that she had a hand in Millie's bio father's death. There were no details given regarding her part in the bio father's death.
      The OP also admitted in some comments that they had to get some sort of protection order for Millie against the sister because of her answer to OP and his wife as to the REAL reason she left and never came back. It appears she had a very strong desire to end Millie if the OP hadn't said he would take her. This wasn't when she was pregnant but after she was born. Also, because Millie didn't want anything to do with her, those "urges" to end Millie had returned.
      It is a very sad scenario when you think about it and when the OP admitted that in the comments, Reddit went nuts. People were telling him to go to the Police and tell the sister's new husband so he wouldn't take her back and she might try ending him and/or her other kids. People were even demanding the Mods step in and have Reddit give any information about the OP to the police to track the sister down that way.
      The post got closed and the OP deleted their account after removing several of his comments. But, you know the internet, nothing is ever totally erased. That was the last I heard about any of it until Lost Genre read this story.

      I think, that at this point, because she is no longer the sister’s child and OP considers the kid his daughter, he wouldn’t take anything even if she offered to compensate him. In his mind, this is probably just a bump in the road they need to get over in order to keep living as a family.

    Maybe I misunderstood the ending? But I think OP definitely needs to explain to his brother in-law what EXACTLY Laila told him. The fact that he was so horrified that he will never let her near his daughter or TELL his daughter what her birth mother actually said should be enough of a motivation to explain what's going on. I'm assuming those thoughts were violent or homicidal. The father of Laila's other children DESERVES to know who he's married to and who he's raising children with. The brother in-law has already stated he wants to continue to let OPs daughter and his kids get to know each other, so that was a bullshit excuse in my book. OP better have ALL of Laila's children's well-being in mind.

      I thought that. Hubby is not living with the person he thought he was. I assume he was the one who insisted Laila got back in touch and thought he was being a hero swooping in to put right a massive injustice, then feeling stupid as his world crashed down round his ears when he found out his wife was a manipulative and selfish witch. If whatever OP found out about his sister was so bad he couldn't say it in the update and made him go full Papa Bear on his daughter then Hubby needs to know so he can protect his children. I get OP is trying to look after Millie, but the half siblings also need protecting too. They are innocent in all this.

    Pretty sure the real reason she came back for Milly is that the husband found out about the abandoned daughter and offered/insisted on helping to get her back. Sister's OP couldn't stop it without exposing how absolute crap she is to him so she went along with it.

  • @StillNotMarble

    Story 1 theory: OP alludes to his sister having been a danger to all her children. I'm thinking she may have had a breakdown and was having intrusive thoughts for harming her daughter, and that is why she left. Or, since OP alludes to some kind of trauma happening in her past, perhaps something happened to her, which skewed her to "think of children, differently," and she left when she recognized it.

      I, personally, assume that it's either about the father of Miley's dad (maybe after he died, Laila stopped seeing Miley as a child, but instead as a mini version of the father) or after she moved she was somehow attacked or taken advantage off.
      Worst thought for me is that maybe Laila experienced some kind of abuse in her childhood? But I don't think that's likely since the "bad behaviour" seemingly appeared after she moved

    • @StillNotMarble
      @StillNotMarble 2 роки тому +29

      @@JDM-is-my-name she didn't display bad behaviour to her new husband after moving. If she could hide it from him, she could have just as easily hidden it from her whole family the entire time prior. Children of certain abuse, who feel shame, have a way of hiding things very effectively.
      I think that the gender of her other two children might offer a clue. Are they both boys? Perhaps her issue only effects how she feels to girls? Perhaps she came back when the daughter was 14, because she was out of the age range which effects her?
      Whatever the substance of the problem was, I have a feeling she told the truth when she said it. Because you never save face by offering the alternative mitigating factor of an unforgivable problem.

      OPs sister never intended on returning. It was only because her hubby learned she had a daughter, and that this daughter had been taken by OPs family. The hubby truly thought he'd swoop in and help save Milly. But it caused OPs sisters house of lies to collapse. And she then gave her to OP to either protect her or through some severe pressure from anyone who may have been made aware (potentially mom and dad). Though given OP says the secret is between himself, his wife, and Laila, that might mean it was her own decision. But that's also assuming she was even being truthful about her explanation. Because it's Laila.

    Story 1: "My parents raised my sister right with love" that's kinda the problem with being a parent you could (in theory) be the perfect parent & your kid can still turn out like his sister. Parenting is a thankless job with absolutely 0 guarantees that your kid will turn out good. Which is why I will never have any of my own.

      As someone else said, should OP believe Laila anyway? She lies plenty. My guess is more mundane. I think her rich husband found out about Milly and was appalled that any mother could abandon a child. He probably kept on about it all the time and she realised that to keep her RICH HUSBAND, she needed to make it seem she desperately wanted her child back and paint OP as the bad guy. I don't know what excuse Laila used, but I find the most likely explanations are usually correct. Laila just doesn't want to look bad. Blame it all an a psychotic breakdown instead.

      I was wondering if perhaps Milly was the result of a SA which is what caused Laila to abandon her as she was a reminder of that? Was Laila in some way responsible for the death of Milly's father? Whether Milly's Dad is who they think or otherwise, if this is the case I can understand why they don't want to tell Milly. Either way Laila needs to seek therapy and deal with her trauma and issues if she is to have any healthy relationships moving forward.

  • @Foxceptional
    @Foxceptional Рік тому +3

    I have a theory on what might have been revealed bc I’ve heard of similar things. I’m thinking Laila might’ve experienced SA that possibly resulted in Milly. And Laila might’ve had a mental breakdown and thoughts of harming her child. Maybe she even DID harm her some as a baby when no one was keeping an eye out for that. It would explain why OP isn’t as concerned for Laila’s other kids, since their dad is a good guy and there’s not trauma association with those kids.
    If it’s something like that though I do have a bit of an issue with how OP handled it. In the end, Milly is the child and Laila is an adult. I don’t think letting Laila stay in the house when she has openly stated her intentions of taking Milly back was a good idea. I appreciate OP’s trust in his wife but I think he should’ve rebutted against her and discussed the risks more. The risks do not seem worth it IMO.
    Laila is responsible for her own trauma and mental health and if her actions were caused by trauma, she is still the one responsible for them. Trauma does not excuse child abandonment/mistreatment.
    I also disagree with Op not telling the husband. Regardless of if OP thinks those kids aren’t at risk of whatever Laila did to Milly, he should have disclosed that to the dad. OP shouldn’t be omitting information that would allow the dad to make informed decisions for his children. Hiding that information is not OP’s place.

    This stuff does happen sometimes. I have cousins on my bio fathers side who had their mother run off to Arizona on them when they were little. They were left with their dad and she NEVER came back all those years to see them-not even once. Their dad didn’t care for them either-he only took them so he didn’t have to pay anyone else to care for them and he only did the bare minimum for them. They basically raised themselves and he worked them on the farm until they both ran off. Two years ago-now that everyone has grown and her grandchildren are in college-she decides she wants to come back. Why? Not for the kids. She started talking to an old flame who got divorced and now she’s living with him. She sees one kid who will see her-the other one could care less about her and moved on with his life. Not everyone is fit to be a mother. And her brother (my bio dad) is the same way. He ran off the minute he heard the word “pregnant” and didn’t come back for years. And when he did, it would have been far better for me if he didn’t!

    The fact that Milly allowed her to stay with them at all especially to live with them for a short period of time shows how great of a job her parents did with her and how great SHE has done herself. She is completely right, she’s not like her. She doesn’t abandon people in need. Who abandons their 3 year old? I know shitty parents exist, I’ve got my own set of abandonment issues most might call “parents”, but wow. I don’t usually condone violent outbursts but hers was well earned. Sometimes rationality is not the needed response, especially in a situation as irrational as this. I envy the way she tore into her aunt/bio mom. I wish I could go off on my dad like that.

    Op in the first story should make sure bio-mom can't get Milly a passport. If she already has one keep it somewhere bio-mom can't get to it. Also inform any government body not to issue a new one unless it's from op.

    I think, laila thinks that she do not want children and thinks that her child ruined her life. The husband insisted to come with her and take back her child since her story is her family insisted to give her daughter to her brother. The husband thought he is being the hero to get her daughter back. This also connects all the dots for me.

    The only thing I can think of where OP would be so vague would be one of only a couple reasons. It could be that she had an affair that lead to the pregnancy, but that's "somewhat common" on Reddit stories, so it could be that the act of her conception was not consensual. That's the only real thing I can think of that OP would have to protect the daughter from.

    I'd have been like "excuse me.? Who the hell are you to claim I stole your daughter when you know full well you dropped her off at my home and haven't seen her in - I'm sorry how long.....11 years.? The world doesn't stop just because your not here to see it."

    After the traumatic event I guess the child probably reminded her too much of the father. Didn’t want to deal with the child maybe even have some resentment towards the kid for reminding her of him while also not being him. Abandonment of this level requires cutting off not only physical contact but emotional as well and a mothers maternal emotion for there child isn’t something normally broken. Obviously she abandoned the kid to start a new life and get away from the trauma and basically ignore it until the husband sucked her back into it. I would say she sorted out the resentment, rich and 11 years can do that but the unstableness is still there towards the issue. She point blank abandoned her to have better life and doesn’t really care about her
