Havent heard anyone mention Everything Everything in a while. Their lyricism is insane. Good taste :)
On Around the Fur v Adrenaline. Around the Fur is a cohesive album made up of songs that are different, standalone, etc. It also feels like a warm up for White Pony, with the kinds of themes in the lyrics and gestures in the melodies. Adrenaline, on the other hand, almost feels like a single, 47-minute song, like variations on a theme. It feels like the soundtrack to a warlock's journey to retrieve a forbidden spell or some shit.
I love both, and that should be the moral of the story.

For sure Deftones are now mainstream. I started listening to them back in the 90's. Nobody really listened to them back then, even metal heads were "yeah theyre cool, not my favorite band". Ive heard so many people say now they're their favorite band. I really enjoy your Deftones style songs but im definitely looking forward to seeing your original music.

This was really good. This is a pretty big difference to mainstream artists. I like the approach of “get to know me”, the will to be open and honest and candid. And also, like the response to the negative comment, cause it just dismantles the trolling with a calm stats approach.
I love that "niche" artists who got passed over during the pre- and early internet days or just forgotten over time are getting attention now through people like you.
It'd be cool to hear you do something with No Knife. The vocals on "Flechette" are similar /enough/ to Billy Joe that I feel like you could nail it.
6:54 I really respect that you stick to your guns on so-called "niche" covers. My friend would play Semi-Charmed Life on repeat in Warzone and it always irritated me being completely in major, but I got hooked on your Incubus version of that and American Idiot, and got into Incubus itself where I otherwise never would have. I imagine it would suck being creatively boxed-in doing only popular requests like SOAD/Korn, and it would do the audience a disservice whether they realize it or not because it doesn't expand or challenge their music taste.
As an aside, the only thing I'd critique you for is NOT releasing full versions of your YT shorts acoustic covers like the AIC Would/Nutshell, A7X Bat Country, or the In the End. They are all fantastic and we need more raw acoustic covers like yours in general, but I understand if those covers are difficult to do vocally.
My favorite female vocalists: Nai Palm, Tal Wilkenfeld and Esperanza Spalding. Some others: Beth Gibbons, Sinéad O'Connor, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Björk, and Chelsea Wolfe. I'm sure I'm forgetting so many.
We grew up on Joni Mitchell and Sade (among many others) so I'd have to throw them in there

Elton John's song "I'm still standing' Is cool, maybe not exactly dope but it's cool enough to be covered.I 'll leave it up to you figure out what style you'd be comfortable to do. And I get your comment about "Muse", Muse is Muse, they're like Tool and The Killers not exactly niche but their own thing with a almost cult like following. Muse is one those bands you don't mess up. Muse was cool to everyone when they debuted, a true cross genre and cross generational act. The first time I heard "Time is Running Out" I thought it was Radio Head getting loud again.
Nothing wrong with being a Deftones Fan, Chino can be whiny but he' still the best ALT Metal Vocalist/Storyteller. I'm almost 40 and been a KoRn fan since I was 13, nothing wrong with owning the style of music you enjoy the most.

I feel like you could characterize Muse's entire sound through "Hysteria" and "Uprising" (at least their earlier stuff they built their name on).
It's usually chugging train guitar instrumentation like The Ernies's "Here and Now" (telephone-y vocal distortion often present to varying levels) or it gets more bouncy and pop. Eventually they started leaning more and more into electronic music.
I think it's fair to draw comparison between his vocal habits and Thom Yorke's snarly slurring, except he's also always leaning into this sort of Freddy Mercury arena anthem sound with lots of shouty vibrato.

Sevendust is my all time favorite band (Staind as well). I thought it was crazy you say that cuz your style is so different and you havent done covers for them but LaJons voice is very unique and hard to replicate.
I definitely think your style would be perfect for the showbiz or origin of symmetry era of Muse. Muscle Museum would be a great fit (also the guitar part in the verse sounds like a SOAD song lol)
An Everything Everything style video would be amazing honestly and even if it doesn't turn out how you hope, at least you'll learn something!
