SoCal alt-rock/alt(nu)-metal sound. Hoobastank sounded like that too for a bit and Linkin Park emulated *some* stuff from it (since they're literally from the same place in LA County as Hoobastank and Incubus) 311 pretty much started the sound, though they're from Nebraska lol.
The way you emulate Dryden's vocal tics - the elongated trailing syllables, the way adds a phantom short a on words with a "by" sound like my and bye. I'm not sure if you're naturally good at it or study like a fiend, but either way, it's impressive.
When u grew up in the era of deftones, incubus, alient ant farm etc. It comes naturally, atleast for me. Another band that does a style like this is Relative Ash
@@romeomartinez5317 yeah there's certain aspects that are common to like driving and say like Chito Moreno or Stephen Richards from Taproot, but Dryern does have some really distinct vocal tics as well.
It's missing some crazy bassline, but apart from that I'd say 9.5 out of 10 points and I don't blame him because emulating Tye's playstyle is nearly impossible ;)
Good idea suggested to the right person. Mac is obviously an Alien Ant Farm fan. They way he plays the AAF non radio/mtv style so well makes it clear he know his way around an AAF cd.
Agreed. I think people overlooked AAF because of the radio stuff (even though i love 'movies' and find it nostalgic) but it's far from what the band is really like
@@jameswhite5076 This video tells me I should listen to more AAF. I love Smooth Criminal and like These Days, but this Incubus style is even more my jam.
This channel is crazy underrated. For what it’s worth bro I send these bangers to my friends lol. Best of luck on your journey, these mixes are sick and spot on
My god this is so good I wish you did tutorials on vocal production because your attempts to match the vocal processing techniques are fucking GOLD like GOLD my god we don’t deserve you
These are the best covers because you completely transform them more than what normally happens when one band covers another. You can barely tell this is the same song.
I've been regularly listening to everything you've got on Spotify and adding this one to the mix asap. Absolutely incredible. 👏👏👏 You've captured the Anthology sound spot on (specifically "Wish").
This is really good. Most people will never actually get to know that AAF is pretty damn good. Unless you look for them you’ll only hear a played out smooth criminal. I glad you took on the better parts of the band. Great take on this. As always…..super impressed. You’re extreme talents are much appreciated
Dude. This is so good. That is an understatement. This is like it should have always been made this way. But that’s still an understatement. You are so talented at basically everything you cover at meeting the feel of the original and yet your energy and commitment to making the song as stylistically enjoyable as possible is something I just haven’t found in all my years watching covers. You’re the best at this.
When I first read I saw ''Genie In A Bottle'' and I said oh hell yeah tat's gonna sound sick, but then I started to listen and said ''wait a minute'' but nonetheless great cover, you always deliver propperly
Dude, if you played this for somebody and told them it was Alien Ant Farm, they would actually believe it and not question anything. You're damn good at singing like Alien Ant Farm. I think it's better than your Deftones . You need to do more songs in the style of Ailen Ant Farm.
Dude. If I wouldn't know better I would definitely assume this is a lost song from the era of AAFs first two albums. It sounds so much like it! Reminds me of SS Recognize.
YES!!!! If anyone here hasn't listened to AAF, Check these songs out: S.S. Recognize These Days Glow they're versatile and have a lot of different styles. These are 3 favorites of mine
This was awesome! Great job as always. I prefer your work over Moonic Productions. While he does some fine voices and instrumentation, his style tends to take the original song largely as-is and just change the voices and instruments. On the other hand, you make whole new songs that sound like something the cover artist would actually write if it were an original work, but clearly taking inspiration from the song being covered. It's so much more interesting and creative. Even though I'm not familiar with some of the bands whose style you emulate, I'm always impressed by every song. Each song is an excellent composition and performance in its own right. Bravo!
You're currently several of my favorite bands

My thoughts exactly
bruh too accurate 🤣
Getting the inflection at the end of every line is just 👌😩
The extra Dryden syllable
@@macglocky lol
Spot on
eee-AH
i can’t fathom how well this works, and the voice is damn near identical.
awesome work lad!
There's an alternate dimension where this was the cover they made instead of Smooth Criminal
Why instead and not just made it as well? I like their version better than Michael Jackson's. Lol
and it's not in American Pie but in Destination Final
Their only mistake. 😢
Instead Machine Head covers it on The Burning Red.
Smooth Criminal was a cover?
How had I not realized that Incubus and AAF were distant cousins until hearing you emulate both
Both were fans of Primus, maybe some crossover there? lol

This is the answer to a question I never thought I needed to know.
I'm absolutely in awe how you nailed the vocals
Damn!
100% nailed it! The world needs more AAF covers!
It's missing some crazy bassline, but apart from that I'd say 9.5 out of 10 points and I don't blame him because emulating Tye's playstyle is nearly impossible ;)
Sounds fantastic. The transition between the yell and more melodic singing is perfect.
If the B-52s covered Beautiful People.

Literally when the vocals kicked in I was like "YES HE'S A FAN!" 😂 He nailed it.
This song has MAD Whisper vibes. Down to the cadence. Man knows his B sides.

AAF always goes harder than they needed.
remember when they got arrested for crashing the BET Awards to film the video for "These Days"?
@@kylemills9192those were the days
This is objectively one of the most well done covers on the platform. FANTASTIC work!

If Presidents of the United States of America wrote Birdhouse In Your Soul
👀
What a strangely perfect combo.
I came back just to say I would love to hear this
That sounds fire.
You imitated Dryden's vocals so well 😭
(delivery sounds just like from " Whisper")
Good job!
You're quickly becoming half of my playlist
Choose one:
- If Muse wrote Running Up That Hill
- If Pink Floyd wrote Army of Me
Sounds like Incubus aswell. Pretty sick!
I was thinking the same thing
My god this is so good I wish you did tutorials on vocal production because your attempts to match the vocal processing techniques are fucking GOLD like GOLD my god we don’t deserve you
If MUSE sang California Girls.
holy fuck i want this now
Katy Perry or Beach Boys?
Not a bad idea!
Yes please!!!
That guitar tone holy moly 🤝
These are the best covers because you completely transform them more than what normally happens when one band covers another. You can barely tell this is the same song.
That chorus is SO JUICY. I could listen to a 10 hour repeat of that alone. Great cover.
Like starburst it’s sweet
That was so AMAZINGLY cool. I'd love to hear you do 'if Arctic Monkeys wrote Eye Of The Tiger."
Alien ant farm is my favorite band. Listen to them even to this day. And this is 100% on point. Thank you for this!
This cover is absolutely insane.
Seriously hoping this one’s makes it to Spotify. One of my favourites and I think some of your best work
If Slipknot wrote ironic
amazing lol
If Alanis wrote wait and bleed

Completely agree - Their first record is SO good. Heaps of bangers. The Smooth Criminal is what it is, but their original songs are awesome

This cover slaps so damn hard. It’s a perfect recreation of their sound. Seriously talented.
This is the cover nobody knew they needed, until they heard it. 1000000000000000000 out of 10
Brooo you definitely killed this one!!! 🤙
How AAF underappreciated is... Please keep it coming! More AAF covers!!!

Fuck yeah.
Genie in a Bottle x AAF
So I'm not the only tired brain here.
Same. "Is that how that goes? Seems familiar, but it's not what I was thinking it'd be."
I didn't want to comment because I thought I would be the only one, but alas, here we all are lol
You're creating some unbelievable music.
Wow bro! I toured with these guys in my band April Sixth. Bro, you freakin’ nailed their sound!!! Crazy good man!
Heavy Anthology vibes here. Loving it,
If creed wrote a thousand miles by Vanessa Carlton
If Chevelle wrote Last Train to London
Nailed it! How you get from scream to clean vocals at the verses, wow!
This guy needs to release every single one of these mashup covers. So fucking good!!
You really did this song justice. Excellent job!
Incubus - I Want It that way (BSB)
I came across a short of this and had to play it! Wish i would've saw this first, but maybe ill try to do it fully one day. Very awesome!
I’m getting smile empty soul vibes from this also. But like always, amazing job
As someone who grew up listening to the Police and Sting, I appreciate this reinterpretation a lot! Keep up the good work. 😸
