Thanks for watching today and a big hug to you if you share this video with someone!
i'm rolling, the bjork impression is hilariously spot-on. lmaoooo
🤣🤣🤣
the INSTANT I Am Björk (which has always been one of my top favorite STWPT songs) started playing, I got a notification that Björk had released a track on bandcamp, most recent previous releases November and then January of 2023
what are the ODDS
If I heard this with no context I would believe it was her 😂
Dude he absolutely nailed the sound of her voice!
I'm glad we all got here at the same time 😆
Fun fact, I was the person who requested "Muskrat For Lunch" (don't know why I put in the name "Bob"...). Songs To Wear Pants To was one of my favorite things in junior high, I used to check the website every day in the computer lab at school and submitted probably way too many requests (sorry)
I remember checking the site a few months after I submitted the Muskrat request and being stoked to see it had actually been made into a song. 7th grade me would be blown away to know it would get highlighted in a video in 2024, so thank you for making this!
Happy 20th anniversary! I'm gonna go wear some pants in commemoration
Congrats!!! I was looking for other requesters in the comments - this is such a lovely look back at how much fun we had on the early internet.
😎💜
I feel like the name "Bob" itself was a punchline back then hahaha
that last sentence implies u wrote this pnatsless
@@sawcrab2249 now we need a song about "u wrote this pnatsless"
I remember us talking about you potentially changing your name from “Songs to Where Pants To” to your actual name
And what a hard and big decision that was
SO obvious in hindsight haha
But wow what a special era. This is mainly how I knew you when we met and I thought you were the coolest
Follow up: still do
lovely seeing our youtube musician husbands here
I very distinctly remember watching the video when Andrew finally dropped Andrew Pants and rebranded himself as Andrew Huang. It was all very poignant, especially talking about how he'd once felt he needed to separate everything by genre by having a different name (STWPT, Your Heart, Girl, Vs., The Cloud).
@@robscallon please do a video with andrew and make an album out of these first of october style, please its rhe full circle we all need
@@celesteweingartner6639 probably a song about someone who gets confused about "wear" and "where"
I STILL REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS MAN IS 40 YEARS OLD
Will buy his book if it has his hair and skincare routine
I came to the coments for this bc when he said it I started doing math and can't believe it haha. I thought he was like 30...
WHAT
I pray that Bjork has heard "I Am Bjork." I feel like she would find it funny.
“I don’t even care about your personality” is really great
I still listen to this song as often as practical.
Cold as ice
I can't believe Andrew is 40 years old. He absolutely looks well into his late 20's or even early 30's. 20 years has gone too quick!
He's like Tay Zonday. Neither of them have physically aged a second since 2006.
...Collab when? lmao
........ i did not do that math until you said it just now. damn.
Woah.
omg
@@imlxh7126 the only tell is the hair. It thins as you age. He's not balding I hope, but yeah he used to have thicker hair.
I remember Songs To Wear Pants To! Celtic Techno Burrito is still on my mp3 player. What a blast to the past!
Celtic Techno Burrito was my favorite! I listened to it so many times back in high school. It's still a banger today!
Yesss! This one and the sea anenemones!
😳😅
Still intimidated
And the extended version!! I was so excited when someone requested it
As they say, the more you look back at past work and think "ew" the more you have improved and grown!
This is how I know I haven’t grown at all; I think my teenage stuff still bops 😂
You’re exactly right. Thx, those are wise words.
Dude you're everywhere in my feed now!
@@Jaqu3Mate Hahaha
"You idiot buy me a diamond ring!" - The Touchtone Genius still makes me laugh all these years later. Funny how I recognise quiet a few of these even after all these years!
"Your mom's fat!"
*️⃣6️⃣9️⃣
Yeah I was hoping he'd listen to that one again.
Touchtone Genius was my first Song to Wear Pants To! I saw an animated piece on New Grounds. I've been here ever since
In 2007 when I was in highschool I emailed you to ask permission to use your cover of "Experimental Film" by They Might Be Giants for a school project, and you graciously said yes! It was one of the first videos I ever edited and it's still up on my channel if anyone wants to watch it lol. I've had people comment and say it's the only place they can find your version of the song anymore.
I was a huge Songs to Wear Pants to fan and still have at least 100 of your songs on a hard drive. Reverse Escargot was my all time favorite haha!!!
!!!! Do you have Vanessa!?
Thanks for that request, I forgot that one. So good.
@@kazzemi I'll have to find my hard drive and check!
@@SatiricalSarah if you would check sometime that would be amazing. I feel like it's lost to the internet. I've looked a few times years apart!
He has a cover of that?! Experimental film is my favorite tmbg song :o
Songs to wear pants to was how i found you 🥺 ugh what a trip down memory lane
Many many years ago (2010?) I was in high school and everyone was obsessed with zombies. My friend sent me this song about killing zombies by shooting them in the head by Songs To Wear Pants To. Fast forward to, I don't know, 2018-ish? And I start watching Andrew Huang. Good stuff. Love it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago: I find out that Songs To Wear Pants To was Andrew Huang. How did I find this? I search my iTunes for Andrew Huang to find a stock music track from a download pack. And weirdly this zombie song shows up. In the composer section, it says Andrew Huang. I do some quick googling, and find out it's the same Andrew Huang. I somehow encountered you twice in my life, without knowing it was you both times. Insane.
that was the one I was trying to remember omg! the memories are flooding back I love this so much, thanks 😭 the melody/chorus is still circulating in my head to this day
Heck yeah that was from the Pink Pants album, a true treasure
"I know all about the megahurts and gigahurts" ... love it, you're always so creative with lyrics :D
OHHHH. I loved this song back then and never realized that was the lyric LOL! Amazing, love it.
Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing On Rainbows is still one of my all time favorites. It was remixed by Power Mittens into Pink Fluffy Unicorns Are Stomping On Rainbows. Which played on the local radio, blowing my mind. And that was right before your UA-cam channel really got going.
It feels like PFUDOR has really gotten its own life online with all the remixes and videos stemming from it 🦄🌈🦄
I love quirky amateurish music like this. Like Lemon Demon's early stuff. Such a vibe. There is nothing better than someone in their bedroom who has no idea what they're doing and is just participating in a craft out of sheer passion.
Outsider music is also very fascinating
this bjork fan says thats perfect
It's really wild watching you react to these songs. I must've bought a bunch of your CDs at some point and added these songs to my music library and never got rid of them. I never dreamt I would get to hear an explanation for any of these.
While you're like, "Wow, I haven't heard these for ten/twenty years", it might disturb you to learn these are still in my regular rotation and probably make up 5% of what I listen to.
hope he sees this comment!! so cool that you’re still jamming to these on CD, i love it
If you've still got the original CDs, you might have some lost media. I'm not sure if Andrew has the originals anymore, but if not, things like honorificabilitudinitatibus and The FCC Stole My Wallet and Kidnapped My Sister can't be found anywhere online rn.
Song "Never" starting as a fan request ends up to a full version to guitar acoustic version to have it's music video shows how much special that particular track to me.
I still sing Sad Sad Toaster Made of Glass to this very day
TIL songs to wear pants to has a spotify 👀 Honestly even all the requests are super creative on their own LOL
I made a "sad toaster made of glass" screenprint tshirt for my friend back in the day. I still have "celtic techno burrito", "captain obvious", "boyfriend's sweater" (I think?) On my computer somewhere. Funny enough, I lost track of your work for years, then found this youtube channel, and the first time I heard Andrew speak, I thought "is this the songs to wear pants to guy?" Now I know for sure!
Did nobody stay to the end. That's huge. Lovely going on this journey with you for maybe a decade or so!
I was just thinking the same thing! "Where are all the comments about the Blue Man Group?!"
I used to have a UA-cam playlist named “Andrew Pants”.. loved your silliness when you were songs to wear pants to!! So much so I drew a picture of you singing “stay safe” on a post card and mailed it from Germany, and you showed it in one of the episodes of “opening mail” videos! That was the only fan thing I’ve ever done in my life. 😂 You’ve always been the best!
oh boy. songs to wear pants to is how I found you over a decade ago.. it's been amazing to see you grow on youtube and I am ready for this nostalgia trip
wow. i still think of songs to wear pants to every now and then. good times! i remember seeing you pop up on youtube one time and thinking "wait, this is *THE* andrew pants?" and ive been following you ever since. youve both come so far and started so strong
As the requestor of the 5/4 song with no percussion (and a couple others), I'm thrilled you made this video! Celtic Techno Burrito was a favorite of mine, as were some not featured here: Napoleon (a force. of history.), It Was the World, Mike Celestino, and the Behsmenemeh mashups (or however those were spelled). You were huge in my small college friend group in Pittsburgh, which I'm sure is just as good as over 2 million UA-cam subscribers. :)
As a member of this guy's college friend group, who randomly came across his comment, I also love this video. I was a math major and really loved the pi mnemonic song. (And @timmierz - I was your associate for the LothT thing we did)
@@Agent_Pyng We were the finest Silver Snakes this side of the Mississippi! Good to hear from you again!
Dude I wanna thank you for requesting that cus I LOVE the song that came out of that request I had no clue that's where "Never" came from
I know it was your 40th birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Now, I always comment this, but you're such a GREAT inspiration for me, as a musician for only 2 years now, YOUR VIDEOS are my place to go when I'm not feeling that inspired, and seeing this gives me hope that one day I'll be an awesome musician just like you! So thank you Andrew, you're amazing! ♥
That song that says "Its TOO LOUD" sounds dope to me with that slow down at the end. I keep going back to it. bjork impression was funny as hell. Good stuff.
It's Too Loud ended up getting an extended version, it was so popular!
I still have Triangular Eyebrows and Gravy and Toast living rent-free in my head
The camera fail section was probably my favourite bit of humour over the past month or so. Wow.
And this is all both insightful and inspiring.
It does sound like you're entering a new phase in your life. From 8-4-84 to StWPt to now. Quite a journey.
I still have your song that's a mnemonic device for the first 50 digits of pi (about how it's impossible to write a song that's a mnemonic device for the first 50 digits of pi) memorized, and occasionally use it as a very nerdy party trick! It lives in my brain right next to Tom Lehrer's song of all the elements. I ate this stuff up as a kid man, much love!
Man! I can’t, I shan’t, formulate an anthem where the words comprise mnemonics…
This is how i found you! Kamikazee Highlander is still one of my favorite songs
I remember finding your site on Albino Blacksheep back in the day, and remember how great the pants forum was!
That website is very well designed for 2004! Love it!
Oh my god! The Björk one!! I'd heard it before but had no idea where it came from. I figured it was an SNL audio snippet or similar all this time, and you sounded EXACTLY like her. I love knowing the actual source now!
I still listen to "Never Been in Love" pretty regularly and "Reverse Escargot" remains a bop to this day. Thank you for this nostalgic little trip back in time!
I'm pretty sure I first found out about you from an animation on Albinoblacksheep by R Wappin using Sister In Law's Ears. That feels so long ago
omgomgomg are you the only other person alive who remembers albinoblacksheep? I swear i reference it so often and always just end up having to explain it ahaha. I discovered Songs To Wear Pants To through a Lawlolawl animation on there Im pretty sure!
How dare you remind me how old I’m getting. For real, I remember listening to all this way back when. Thanks for the memories.
Everyone's commenting on the actual songs but I absolutely loved reading the updates during the "camera fail" portion, it's so clever.
The pure energy and zaniness of these songs and this site and this whole creative project is something unbelievably great and so unique. So sad that these kind of projects are more or less lost as the internet and trends have shifted.
Brooo I was smiling so wide watching this whole video! I was getting into music production as a teen and your site was one of the first places I experienced one person just experimenting with ideas and genres, also the sense of humour was 100% my cup of tea. The end of the sister-in-law ears song is something I still sing to myself from time to time lmao.
God this brings back memories. I overheard you talking with what I assume was your family in a restaurant I waited tables at in 2004, and you mentioned the site name. It was weird enough it stuck in my head and I looked it up when I got home. I still have a ton of this saved on my hard drive, and back in 04-06 I told everyone that would listen about songs to wear pants to. My 13 year old rocks tf out to the Barber Hop Hip Shop and Polka Loca along with 'newer' things like Zombie Ninjas and Robot Pirates, but said Timmy Tree gave him nightmares. I've got the OG version of No E, Half your Intake of Fat, and I am Having Your Babies stuck on a playlist that comes up sometimes. I'm so stoked to see you thriving, my man. Keep forward and keep being awesome.
It's Too Loud is a massive nostalgia trip!
I've been following you for the better half of a decade now but I never knew about Songs to Wear Pants To. One day 4 or so years ago my wife is playing a silly song about pink fluffy unicorns for my then 4 year old and then there's talking in the song and I said out loud "wait a second, I know that voice!" and frantically took to google to find out, indeed, it was you! We rocked the hell out of that one and 32x on the regular! Now my kid is older and we sometimes watch your videos together :)
Heartwarming! I love when it becomes multi generational :)
it has been so fun and inspiring to follow your music over so many years - and i'm not ashamed that i still knew the lyrics to every song in this video 😎
Wow the photo body parts is actually pretty good. Andrew huang was crazy good in these music. I'm 18 and I can't even make music this good.
One thing I've observed is that if I strive to make something really really good based off of master-like inspirations, failing at that usually results in something that most people find decent, but isn't master-like. Kinda cool. Because in my head, it's just bad, and I guess the high standard let it fly far.
Songs to wear pants to was were I originally found Andrew, such a good time!
I loved Songs to Wear Pants To! I think STWPT came to me at a time when I also liked Parry Gripp and whatever other "lolrandom" stuff I could consume. Just like you said, a lot of the jokes were hit-or-miss. But I remember the hits being soooo good. I laughed so hard at you breaking the carrot in the Gravy and Toast song that I remember it to this day.
vocoder on drums is uh, wow.
It's insane to see how far you've progressed. I started composing stuff only this year and wow it is hard. Even the first songs you shared are better than what I make 😭
Dude I knew your work from the songs to wear pants to days! I spent many afternoons browsing your site for the word and wonderful.
I remember sitting in the school computer lab at lunch to see if there was a new song. I still have some of these songs on playlists. I think the surviving tracks are Beerbogganing, celtic techno burrito, shooby-doo-wop-muh-muh-ne-my-my-my, department store vs predator, He Will State the Obvious, theres nothing between us anymore, Guitar (256), The Touchtone Genius, Polka Loca, and your cover of Experimental Film.
There's Nothing Between Us Anymore was my request! 🥺Hi friend!
@@tenshireiwooooowww!!!
This unlocked a part of my brain i completely forgot about. Shoot the Zombies was a staple on my mp3 player when i was in school. I love that i still continue to enjoy your content. That was such a nice pick me up to my day!
Commissioning Andrew to write Muffin Puffin was the best decision I've ever made!
Very glad you did.
I came in during the STWPT UA-cam era, so I mostly remember songs like Gravy and Toast, My Moustache, My Bicyclette, Be Safe. One of the first songs I learned on Ukulele was Pink Fluffy Unicorns. You even introduced me to Gorillaz with your cover of November has Come. Huge respect to the artist formerly known as Andrew Pants.
I just read about this whole endeavour in your book and now I get to hear it! Thanks for sharing these. I miss this era of the internet so much - would've LOVED to buy a song request back in the day.
As someone who still follows you because you shared videos on that page back when, I needed this.
"It's Too Loud" is still one of my favorites.
I found your website way back when and I loved your sense of humor. I've been following you since
Don't be embarrassed by STWPT, it was so cool! I'm a fan of you today because of these old songs that I listened to back in high school. I miss the old Internet - this and other quirky online stuff like it was such a big deal to me. Truly, these silly pieces of music mean a lot to me, thank you. All these years later I'm still thinking about thinking about thinking about thinking about frogs. And sick because of that crunk juice.
I love this trip down your memory lane.
Also, that hotel bed pillow jump cut was so smooth.
Humble beginnings. Cool to see how far you've come. Congrats on all your success with many more years to come
At that moment he wasn’t listening to music, he was living an experience.
Aww this was how i found you! They're still bangers!
I remember so desperately wanting to commission you but PayPal wasn't operating in Malaysia at the time 🥲
There's Nothing Between Us Anymore and Beware the Sea Anemone were highlights but they're all so good
You're an amazing person. You deserve good things Andew.
Proud of you for keeping at it man! I'm still kind of figuring out my sound and its slowly coming together but i hope some day i will be at your level after all of this experimentation.
YESSSS I was a huge STWPT fan and was so hype when I was able to find you after it ended (and wow so dope you listened to a lot of ones that I like... fully remembered either before or immediately after hitting play) (ALSO BLUE MAN GROUP??)
Back in 2004, I bought a song ("Yeah, Yeah, Yeah") from you for the birthday of a girl I had just started dating.
We've been together 20+ years now (got married in 2013) and I have yet to top that birthday present.
This is incredible and so sweet!!! My side of the story is: I took your money and bought many packages of instant noodles
Me! I'm that girl! Best present I've ever received. ❤
@@kgartellwooooooowwwwwww!!!
This is so much fun! I read about it in your book, and listening to them brought a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing!
Legitimately I wasn't prepared for this nostalgia, I almost shed a tear seeing "Songs to Wear Pants To" in this thumbnail on my sub feed! You've been such a massive inspiration on me, my creativity, and even my taste in music for more than a decade, from teenagerhood to long beyond by now. Thank you!
Songs To Wear Pants To was THE BEST!
wake up, bro, andrew huang posted.
Hey thanks for sharing this, I have some fond memories of crawling through your site playing my favorites for my friends.
This video was was such a journey, thank you for sharing your past music and progression from when where you started. I loved every seconds of it! It def inspired me to find my place I too can shine best :D
We’ve all been there man. I know I’ve got a long way to go with my music. If you wanted to give me any feedback that’d be great 👀
WHAT THE FUCK I DIDNT KNOW THAT WAS YOU
Same. How.
Hah that's great.
Great throwback! This is some OG material for sure.
Probably my favorite video of yours from now on. Couldn't help but smile and laugh through a lot of it!
loved your book!
Fantastic walk down memory lane into the old internet. I found your channel right around the PFUDOR era which was high school for me. Glad to see you still going strong! Personal growth wooooo
I was one of the paid song requester, and I loved the Andrew's work even though I didn't end up using it for the intended purpose. Thank you once again Andrew! I can still hear the guitar in my head this many years later.
Oh man, another dimension to your awesome book, thank you Andrew I was hoping for this 😊
These are so fun to look back on. After reading your book, I'm like ah man I wish I could find some of these to hear what I've missed out on. Now I know. Humble beginnings!
I feel like Huang has disowned his masterwork, "Original Nintendo Is Awesome".
Thanks for sharing this! It was awesome!
I was such a big fan of your site back in the day! I think I discovered it in late 2004 or 2005. Such a fun throwback.
I found you through STWPT!!! Gravy and Toast was one of my faves. I've seen you produce music for so long, seeing you have different names for different projects and then rebranding it under your own name. Man, what a time and amazing to see you grow and be a dad now.
You absolutely NAILED Björk! Loved this throwback vid, sounds like you had a blast making these tracks back in the day :D
I was a fan back then, and then discovered you as Andrew Huang on UA-cam much later. When I realized you were the same person it blew my mind, but then made perfect sense.
Read about this in your GREAT book - so excited to hear these!
Such a huge fan of STWPT back in its heyday. My wife and I still say "that's not sweet, dinosaurs are sweet!" to each other.
I never commissioned a song, but I remember when you did one for Emmy Cicieriga and that was my gateway to the Andrew Huang musical universe. Also, I am the fan who sent you red sweatpants that said "Pants to Wear Songs To" 🙃
you gotta re launch this, absolute gold
I LOVED Songs to Wear Pants To back in the day - the combination of your obvious talent and willingness to use that talent chasing the weirdest ideas imaginable was incredibly fun. Love that you're still out here thriving and making cool/weird music.
Andrew; you're one of my favorite music artists ever, and the fact that you share your long-past development here is a perfect example why. I've never been particularly musically inclined, but every single video of yours that I watch makes me want to try make music and also appreciate all the music I already like more. What you have is a rare combination of gifts, and I honestly think you are utilising them all to their fullest.
You are an inspiration to everyone, even those who do not make music, and I thank you for your tireless efforts to help everyone be better. I am certainly better thanks to your influence. Thank you.
This was such a fun video to watch. Great to hear how you started and inspiring about how you made music for the pure joy of it!
Hearing about how you are doing now and just going down memory lane just makes me so happy I was able to listen to some of your music when I was younger. Seeing you still enjoying your old art is also something I love - esp as an art teacher trying to get teens to like their own stuff
What a trip down memory lane! I wasn't around for your super early career (I subscribed while you were doing comedy music on UA-cam when I was in high school, I'm almost 26 now and still here!) but I love the vibes of your early music. Another comment mentioned Lemon Demon and that's spot on, there was just something so...ethereal and quirky about your early stuff, I felt like I was being pulled into a story every time. I want to say that from my perspective, you never threw anything away on the comedy stuff. It was still impactful music that had a lot of heart and joy. That being said I'm so happy for you that you're taking your career in a direction that is decided by you and you alone, and not letting requests from others or pressure from the algorithm pressure you into making music you don't want to make. I remember loving so many of your random songs...Higgs Bo-song, Nostalgia the 15/8 rap was a huge fav of mine, shotgun Glados cover, PUNK fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows!! I listened to You Are The Devil and your seasons series over and over when I was in high school. You inspired me so much as an artist as I grew into adulthood and I feel honored to be able to witness your journey. Thank you for being you and taking us on this journey with you!
So many of these songs still roll around in my head on a daily basis. I had all of them on my ipod and always checked the website for new drops. Big part of my high school experience.
i definitely found you from that channel. I just liked that you made a bunch of music and it was fun to watch.
This was amazing to watch, loved learning some of the Andrew Huang History.
You gotta do another episode at some point
YES!!! I’ve been reading the book and dying to see the site
Whoa whoa whoa, that was a blast to the past and so cool to hear your earlier songs!🤘
