yes I dont understand how he can say that there are "no unpleasant incidents yet". That engine and car in general is a beautiful, yes beautiful cause it's great looking NIGHTMARE.
Is the timing belt on the 2016 diesel engines a chain that doesn’t require a change like a regular timing belt? I have a evoque 2.2 diesel 150hp with 9 speed automatic gearbox. You said about the change of timing belt is in 10 years. My evoque have only 67000 km and I don’t feel too take the cost of changing the timing belt now because it’s only 7 years old and because of the low miles. Therefore I’m in to changing it to the facelift model from 2016 and a diesel again. Anything I should be aware of?
The 2.2 diesel with 224DT motor has a timing belt and easier (and cheaper) to change than the chain, as the chain is mounted behind the gearbox and needs to be changed soon since it can start making noise at 90.000 Km. Timing chains are today very similar to bicycle chains.
What do you mean in case of the Evoque with Ingenium engines there are no unpleasants incidents yet ? That engine is a fully fledged disaster, you have to pull the entire engine out to change the chain at a 4k to 5k euros price and it keeps poisoning the oil with diesel thanks to the anti particulate filter using diesel to burn and it requires a very specific oil change every 10K KILOMETRES, and it has every type of electronic problems and turbine issues. Let alone the shaft breaking and costing 7k to replace. is this a joke ? There is not a single mechanic in europe that will recommend you an Evoque over alternatives.
Steer clear of the 2.0l ingenuim engine. Timing belt tensioner failure. The earlier 2.2l engines are more reliable

What years would you advise on keeping clear from?
Up
I m buying it if somebody already had this on please tell me whats the issues does it cost more money to repairs and oil change ?
Don’t buy if you’re broke or can’t work on cars.
This is a luxury suv, buy a Toyota if you want a less expensive to repair boring car
Very informative, thank you.
