Hi Matt, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the alarm going off when you opened the OSR door is symptomatic of a door latch failure so I suspect it won't be locking that door when you lock the car, it's not unheard of with Evoque and XF of this age. To test it, lock the car and leave the keys out of range in case it has keyless entry (don't think it does, but covering all bases) and see if the door still opens and the alarn goes off. Thought I'd let you know as I know you pride yourself on preparing cars to a very high standard and wouldn't want to deal with a complaint. You may find by sorting it that you have folding mirrors too (if fitted) as when a door latch fails, the mirrors won't fold in as they only do this at the end of the sequence once all doors are locked. Nice Evoque Matt! I bought a 2013 one 3 years ago with only 32000 miles on it! It had horrible mismatched tyres so I looked at Kwikfit and scored a set of 4 OEM Pirelli scorpions on sale at £99 each including mobile fitting at my house! What a difference to the handling. It’s now got 62000 on the clock and tyres are still in great nick! Love mine!👍😊❤️

Beautiful colour!! Matt why do you get your mechanic to sort out the tyres, he won't shop round for the best offers. Buying 4 you can get 25% off at some well known tyre shops. Sure your mechanic will charge you for his time swapping the tyres also. Just a thought!
Check with LR if it has had the new software security update. 2016 onward are being recalled on a 'priority basis' (which I read as 'price basis') so your car will probably be quite low down the list.
I originally subscribed to this channel because I am fascinated by the used motor trade and there are many YT channels that cater for this interest, but none are more entertaining than this one. Matt's running commentary is informative and funny and he is a real star with great comedy timing.

Range Rover products in London are ridiculously expensive to insure- some areas you cannot get insurance. I was told that an F type Jaguar was going to be ov 0:16 er a £1500 year for me to insure with years of no claims discount and this was considered cheap… I am told that these vehicles get stolen often
People want the flash cars but don’t spend the money on them or they don’t realise how much it costs to maintain them. I don’t think alot of people realise how much difference it makes having top tyres on a car. It’s the only thing in contact with the road
I put a set of Pirelli 'powergy' tyres on my 2013 Nissan cube; recently , what an instant and noticeable difference, quiter, smoother ride, better grip etc. Yes, put good quality & appropriate tyres on your car, you won't regret it.
I always buy premium tyres. On a motorway they drastically reduce stopping distance. That can be the difference between having a massive accident and being safe.
Such a lovely looking car the evoke. I came close to buying one recently until I got the insurance quotes 😳😳😳 I live in NW London but you’d think I was trying to insure a Bugatti the quotes were ridiculous! Maybe that’s why yours was only £8500 Matt 👍🏻

Kaikoura stone is named after the town in South Island, New Zealand 🇳🇿 where you watch the whales in the southern ocean. 👌no wonder how I know that? 🤔🇳🇿
My dad used to own a 2012 RR Evoque prestige si4 (orkney grey with santorini black roof). I absolutely loved that car.. Options really make or break this car imo: adaptive dampers, automatic and a full leather interior can transform this car from a rebadged freelander to a proper mini Range Rover.
That's a nice colour and a nice colour combination. A long time ago as had a R129 Mercedes SL in Bornite Brown with a "Pebble" cream interior. What a lovely car that was and how I regret selling it. Bornite Brown was actually grey or purple or this "latte" colour depending on the light. I still wouldn't ever have another JLR product, though.
I've saw one recently advertised in the same colour but it had black painted wheels on it and it looked good, and I'm not a huge fan of the wheels painted like this but the colour combo went together well. My brother had a couple of them as company cars and he loved them too. Great vid Matt.

Hi mate, Just watched a few of your videos today. I thought you were very honest and thorough in your car reviews so i have subscribed. I reckon i would buy a car from you. Stevie in Fife.
Probably preaching to the choir but 2016 Evoque's also had the potential to have the dodgy steering rack that was held in by mild steel bolts that could snap off. Might be worth checking out.
Never knew these were Haldex. I assumed they were all Torsen full time AWD being a range rooney designed around off road capability. I suppose when being designed by Posh Spice, they went for looks over function. Great review as always. Still holding out for your advise on warranty work and how it impacts the dealers....still intrigued.
I quite like that colour to my surprise! Whilst I have always liked Evoques I just wouldn't risk buying one with an ingenium diesel and the petrol engined version seem few and far between! Seems like you have done OK with this one providing the engine doesn't blow in the first few months and you are faced with sorting it!
Nice one. for a car that age I wouldn't bother with genuine JLR service parts, assuming you can even get them, since good quality branded ones from OE suppliers would do.
Nice Car Matt, i like that colour personally. A colleague of mine put 108k on an identical car in 3 years and it was like new! Had a 16 plate myself from new for a couple of years then moved onto an E Pace. Good video as per 🤔😎
My wife has a 2018 Evoque HSE Dynamic Lux Black Edition with only 45000 miles Unfortunately it’s already had a Turbo, timing chain, thermostat & housing. Timing cover. Seat belt (Airbag Warning Light), Front springs snapped, Remote Fob……… Can’t even sell it cos they’re worth chocolate buttons. In the dealership more than it’s on our drive!
I keep seeing a MINI Convertible in our local Sainsbury car park. Similar "brown " colour only darker with a chocolate covered folding roof brown alloys and a brown interior - seats are leather in contrasting chocolate and beige. All of the brown makes me feel I should be repelled by it but tell you what it has something .....
Hi Matt…… Kaikoura is a place on the south lsland of New Zealand!!! It’s on the eastern side of the island and close to the top of said island!!!! It’s one of the best whale watching spots on the planet!!! It also has amazing seafood, crayfish, pawa…..abalone….kinea …..sea eggs….mussels etc etc But unfortunately it’s subject to earthquakes!!!! And bloody big ones!!! JLR used the name Kaikoura stone on a number of Range Rover vehicles!!! Also Tasman blue was another Kiwi name used on JLR products!!! So with a New Zealand Maori name colour on the vehicle it should sell well!!!! Just put a silver fern on the rear end!! Like the All Blacks wear!!!!! Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿👍👍😂😎
Good to see you are back on form over spending again Matt, it's just not you when you don't. But nice looking Evoque, so money well spent as usual. Love your videos so keep them coming please.
Usually that rattle at start up will be the timing chain. As the hydraulic tensioner gets oil pressure and finds the stretchy chain it stops. First sign I'm afraid. Hopefully I might be wrong 😅 yey I'm wrong!
Its really weird how in most places other than the us you get extremely base cars, no fog lights, no sunroof, no meridian speakers, no nav, and most importantly no camera. Most people buy them for the brand name and thats not nice. Great videos 🫶
Good evening Matt, looks like you've saved a another Range Rover I think you will sell it quite quickly and someone be very happy with that one well done. Cheers Phil from Newark
From what one sees on the internet, Range Rovers values are falling badly on the grounds of theft risk. Is this really a factor that you are seeing in your local market? (Maybe it's a London thing?) Thanks for a great video again!

Just watched a few of your videos today. I thought you were very honest and thorough in your car reviews so i have subscribed.
I reckon i would buy a car from you.
Stevie in Fife.
Much appreciated!
What Joker called it Brown! isnt it more like a light bronze?
Excellent playing, nice and clean from low b to c sharp. glad you use that little side key for A sharps which is smoother and purer sounding.
Interesting to see a comparison between this and the NX
Probably preaching to the choir but 2016 Evoque's also had the potential to have the dodgy steering rack that was held in by mild steel bolts that could snap off. Might be worth checking out.
I’d think twice before buying these as the insurance is mad and they’re a popular car for thieves.
Those rear tyres were originally on the front I think (sad)
I love mine. I was reluctant to have one based on rumours. It's been a blast.
I bought 8 or 9 cars this morning...seems like your making good business actually 😊.
It was a particularly busy day
That rattle will be the heat shield on the DPF. Needs a little weld to reattach it
This video almost made me wanted to buy one. A Range Rover that is. Horror stories abound about insurance. Maybe worth a mention Matt?
i had a 1 series in that colour..... they called it Havana Brown ... i loved the colour and still do. Tidy car that
My wife has a 2018 Evoque HSE Dynamic Lux Black Edition with only 45000 miles
Unfortunately it’s already had a Turbo, timing chain, thermostat & housing. Timing cover. Seat belt (Airbag Warning Light), Front springs snapped, Remote Fob………
Can’t even sell it cos they’re worth chocolate buttons.
In the dealership more than it’s on our drive!
whoops and i had begun to like them after watching that
Yh, they're not on my wish list. By the sound, I wouldn't say you've been unlucky either...that's fairly typical of the breed.
I can beat that list with my 2017! 😂
i was going to buy one for my wife until i joined the owners club on facebook and I found out what i would potentially be letting myself in for .
@@davidtodd907 - I wish I had joined that before I bought mine. But, I have talked four of my friends out of buying them
I keep seeing a MINI Convertible in our local Sainsbury car park.
It also has amazing seafood, crayfish, pawa…..abalone….kinea …..sea eggs….mussels etc etc
But unfortunately it’s subject to earthquakes!!!!
Love your videos so keep them coming please.
i am here for the bill at the end
Evoque. Brings me back to a Top Gear episode when James May drove it on Las Vegas.
A nice car for the money.
It would fit right in, in retired suburbia.
Don't forget the Faraday pouch for the keyless fob.
Good buy, can’t beat a tight box Matt!!!
I've got a Jaguar XF same year as this Evoque and had fun noticing all the same parts they share.
Usually that rattle at start up will be the timing chain. As the hydraulic tensioner gets oil pressure and finds the stretchy chain it stops. First sign I'm afraid. Hopefully I might be wrong 😅 yey I'm wrong!
It was coming from the back of the car
Similar to fords -milano grigio colour which is described as brown on the logbook
Dpf Egr etc develop issues because they are driven at low revs/high gears.
And most drivers haven't a clue basically
Its really weird how in most places other than the us you get extremely base cars, no fog lights, no sunroof, no meridian speakers, no nav, and most importantly no camera. Most people buy them for the brand name and thats not nice.
Great videos 🫶
Another cracking vid Matt, i see you left the AA sticker. I think its a great colour!
I utterly love this channel
Matt ranting at the little picanto 😂Oh this car looks so nice. Hope it will be sold fast
I'm watching & listening knowing this one is gonna be interesting 🍿
Good evening Matt, looks like you've saved a another Range Rover I think you will sell it quite quickly and someone be very happy with that one well done. Cheers Phil from Newark
Does that Wonder Grip van ever move?? Great video as ever Matt 👍🏽🇬🇧
its had a leak and is stuck to the road
From what one sees on the internet, Range Rovers values are falling badly on the grounds of theft risk. Is this really a factor that you are seeing in your local market? (Maybe it's a London thing?) Thanks for a great video again!
Keyless entry are the ones they target I believe.
Hi matt, great job on the range rover, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
