They called me last week seeing if I wanted to trade it. Of course I said NO!
I have drove my LR2 from 40,000 to 195,000 miles and now they found shavings in the oil.. it still drives like the day I bought it. I have had 2 major issues with the differential that was under warranty.
That’s not a 2016, it was redesigned in 2016 and that is the old one, and over a year ago we got a 2017 Evoque and it has been incredibly reliable and has never had any of these problems.
@@f.13 yes! They really are good cars, quiet, comfortable, good handling, and good quality. My only issue, is the infotainment system can get a little glitchy occasionally
So far I have not had a single problem that you reported here since I had owned it since 2013. Even running on 19 inch 235/50/R19 it’s pretty quiet. Yes, Ride is slightly on the firm side more on dynamic mode but it’s designed for high speed stability. Incredibly stable even at 220kmh that I have not seen on any other SUVs other than the Porsche Cayman only.
Your rover is clearly not a 2016. You have the old headlights/rear lights for they upgraded the body design in 2016. So it clearly is older. So it must be out of warranty or you would know your warranty is 4 yrs or 50,000 miles. So you wouldn’t be driving around with that stuff being broken & could be repaired. Also with the lift gate could need a simple reset & could be fine. Now the trim.... that could be an issue. But that can happen on any model or make of vehicle. The rough shifting is also due to your not running premium fuel in it which will make it shift hard. Plus sounds like you need a software update on the engine as well which they do if you call & see if there have been updates you may need especially if your vehicle is no longer under warranty. Maybe do some maintenance & home work before the time spent on something you should be trading in if you hate it that much. Just sayin..... 😊
Man I love you for taking the time to post this reply.. NO homo.. Its like people take the slightest opportunity to bash the brand just to get some views, likes and comment..

My alternator went out two weeks ago. That cost $1600. My infotainment system also had issues with glitching. Had to have a software update which cost $160. Maybe mine had gremlins or maybe it's the brand. Do your homework before you buy one or you'll be spending money to keep it running.
Just wondering, what symptoms did your car have in relation to the turbo problem? I have a 2015, and just started to hesitate on and off when accelerating. Is this a serious problem?

I really wanted one of these. But, there were so many bad reviews out there. I bought an Audi Q3 in the end. But, every time I see an Evouqe, I wonder if I should have taken the risk. Surely they can't all be bad.
UPDATE : Couldn't fight the urge any more an finally bought one! Pick it up this weekend. Had my Q3 for over three years now and not had a single issue with it. It is no doubt the most reliable car I have ever owned. But, I was forever getting that sinking feeling every time I saw an Evoque. You should never let your Heart overrule your Head. I got a call from Land Rover maintenance today. They informed me that i need a new engine. My Range Rover Evoque is a 2014 with less than 65k miles. We need to press for a class action lawsuit.
JaySmitty33 exactly, my Autobiography has done only 12k miles , I have many small intermittent faults and a noisy rear diff. Car is out of warranty in 2 months time .An extended warranty costs £850 per yr thereafter . JLR dealerships are thieves and liars.
Unfortunately, soon to be your worst nightmare!! I purchased a 2015 Range Rover evoque in 2014 (brand new). While it is now the year 2020 January, I have had 3 turbo replacements (should have been recalled!) and now looking at $3400 for the cam shaft/ timing chain that has now gone bad. While this car "looks" good, it's not worth the money spent (55k and some change)! All you have to do is go to the dealership and see how many brand new cars are sitting in the bay waiting to be serviced. :( It's sad!
It's a bugger when the battery in your doorlock remote lasts longer than the actual car.... There a heap of shit, I for one am very sorry I bought a new one.
I had the 2016 evoque 2.0l Diesel at 60k miles do not have any of those issues , handles beautifully ride smooth as a lexus car excellent diesel engine smooth and quiet. No faults if you are after a luxury compact suv this will be the one to buy.
I totally agree we had the new 2018 evoque and it was so uncomfortable..in the back..Terrible hard suspension...they offered us an off road experience...who wants to go when there's one thing you forget to mention...because of the glass roof they couldn't put hand grabs on the roof of the car when you go over bumps etc . So what good is it off road nothing to hold onto...I got rid of my new one within the first year of buying it...never buy another...overated...a piece of scrap metal for me xxx...you hit the nail on the head xxx

We are about to sell our 2013 Evoque Prestige Premium and have a 2022 Evoque R-Dynamic ES on order. The 2013 has been the most reliable worry free vehicle I've ever owned, we live in Alaska, so very harsh conditions. 79,500 miles to date and still a fantastic rig, the 17 speaker Meridian sound system is still awesome too.
Had my since 2009 and not a single thing happen. I think you got a lemon. Maybe I am just lucky. Only issue after 5 year is the radiator tiny leak. Which was under warranty and replaced. And I drive it pretty hard sometime. Maybe because I got the first generation? Which was especially build carefully. I hear the update version of engine (developed by land-rover themself) has quite a few problems. Hope you can get it sorted out. Good luck.

I've bought a 2014 evoque with 19k on it certified from the dealer and its been by far the worst thing i have ever owned. Engine has been replaced, tranmission has been replaced, diff started leaking at 40k and the NEW engine started leaking at cooler at 45k. Lift gate was fixed around 20k too. The exterior and interior quality is crap. The range rover lettering just started peeling at 46k. This is a vehicle thats garaged most of the day and gets hand washed on weekends. Now there is a knock coming out of the rear suspension and since its dropped out of the factory warranty and is only under the certification they want me to pay 250 every time i take it in to take a guess at what the issue is. I have owned 15+ cars and still own an Audi and a Lexus and they both are 30 times the car this thing is. I complained to Land Rover Jaguer about all of this and they truly amazed me at how much they dont care. They offered good will money and took it off the table since i didnt accept it right away (my grandma was at the hospital and i had to travel - she also passed during that time which i explained to them) And on my last call i discovered that they started a complaint with BBB on my behalf and most likely screwed that up too. I never gave them permission. Garbage vehicles and garbage company. Dont waste your time and money
I bought new range rover Evoque 2018 oct After 700 miles when slow down Loud . Clicking noise started coming from the gearbox. I took it to the garage. they said gearbox Solenoid make noise. I have 2016 Evoque . problemson my car is headgasket failed. dealer said that drive 1000 miles more and come back. I guess dealer does not know how to fix. very stylish car but my biggest regret in my life. my another new hobby is fixing rattles on my evoque haha
That’s not even a 2016..try 15. The issues with the car can be rectified at a Land Rover dealer (molding, sunglasses holder, etc). The other issues you seem to have are your own and in that case just get rid of the car (ruining jeans, etc). I just had my 2016 full size scheduled maintenance completed at 16k for $550 so I highly doubt the dealer is charging $500 for an evoque.
Wow, every car requires you to take care of it. Get those little little little things fixed. Personally, my rule is if it has engine or transmission problems, then get rid of it, but everything else- FIX it until the fixes start affecting RELIABILITY. If I have to question the reliability, then I gotta get rid of it.

I really wanted one of these. But, there were so many bad reviews out there. I bought an Audi Q3 in the end. But, every time I see an Evouqe, I wonder if I should have taken the risk. Surely they can't all be bad.
i'm in the same boat
just drove a q3 today and evoque
love the evoque but unsure if its worth the risk
David - What you gonna do then?
Phanny Obsession idk honestly
I’m at Mercedes dealer Rn
Just drove a GLA
Wasn’t the biggest fan
How do u like the Q3? I'm thinking of getting one too after i read bad reviews on this one as well
UPDATE : Couldn't fight the urge any more an finally bought one! Pick it up this weekend. Had my Q3 for over three years now and not had a single issue with it. It is no doubt the most reliable car I have ever owned. But, I was forever getting that sinking feeling every time I saw an Evoque. You should never let your Heart overrule your Head. But, I guess I'll have to find out the hard way! Wish me luck!!!!
I had an m3 which ruined a few sets of jeans, especially in the rain. Never got the smell out
Nice one ... haha!
I have a 2014 and they had to replace the internal battery, under warranty, the liftgate started working after that.
Just turned 85,000 miles on mine. Not a single problem . And I beat my to death !!! Beach, mud, you name it . Absolutely amazing !!!
Do you have warranty on it?
I've purchased an auto evoque 2014...can any of you fellow drivers help me, when I come to a junction stop or close to stopping...after applying pressure on the accelerator to move away from the junction...I get the front wheels spinning sound and slipping motion? I dont know what this is? Any ideas?
Dude you just need to get those problems fixed, I’m sure there’s a warranty
Liftgate problem is caused by a) low car battery or b) car battery has been changed but not registered (BMS reset by a shop level scan tool).
I got a call from Land Rover maintenance today. They informed me that i need a new engine. My Range Rover Evoque is a 2014 with less than 65k miles. We need to press for a class action lawsuit.
I feel you
Yrs ago post. Update please!
I haven't been able to get a class action lawsuit moving.
I see the Evoque being towed all the time.
Im buying one
My dream car
Brandy 17 do not buy this car. I need a new engine!
Dont do it buy a toyota
@@1ronae1 Don't you have warranty on your car? Mine is about to run out and desperately trying to find out that i can trust
It's a bugger when the battery in your doorlock remote lasts longer than the actual car....
There a heap of shit,
I for one am very sorry I bought a new one.
I dont recognize ANY of the problems addressed in this review!
How is the reliability?
Duke : Reliability generally okay, but my persisk experience is based on a short time ownership
Only dummies buy 200 dollar pairs of jeans
at least his 200 dollar jeans do their job, unlike Land Rovers (and I do have one so I know).
He said 2 pairs of jeans for 200
So 100 each
Pay attention numb nuts😎
Yes and he’s worried about the price of the servicing
they're worth it tho
lemmy999 if you need a new pair of jeans after they touch a tire, they in fact do not do their job
I had the 2016 evoque 2.0l Diesel at 60k miles do not have any of those issues , handles beautifully ride smooth as a lexus car excellent diesel engine smooth and quiet. No faults if you are after a luxury compact suv this will be the one to buy.
I totally agree we had the new 2018 evoque and it was so uncomfortable..in the back..Terrible hard suspension...they offered us an off road experience...who wants to go when there's one thing you forget to mention...because of the glass roof they couldn't put hand grabs on the roof of the car when you go over bumps etc
.
So what good is it off road nothing to hold onto...I got rid of my new one within the first year of buying it...never buy another...overated...a piece of scrap metal for me xxx...you hit the nail on the head xxx
What car would you get otherwise?
My dad has had his new Range Rover evoque for two days and the suspension has already broke.
Stop jumping it
@@nonexvcghdfgh my dad had the car for two days, yes I have to admit it was a second hand car but when we bought it the person said it has absolutely no problems, but when we went to a Range Rover specialist he said the front suspension was COMPLETELY broken and it had 24 other problems. The owner just scammed him that’s all.
I love our 2012 Evoque not problems; 68K and it still runs and feels like new.
Some people actually drive faster than 55mph.
My 2011 has 300k miles and still drive like brand new, i drive it across the USA every year.
Never seen a mechanic shop.
I would replace the engine in my garage the day my current one goes under.
The body style will never go out of style
Lots of the same exact problems on mine 2012 coupe
I had the same window strip issue
Best car ever. The 9 speed box is as smooth as silk
Rick Plews Smooth ? As long as you don't mind the clonking and the sudden acceleration when setting off at traffic lights !
I want to know why Range Rover has such unreliable components,is it the the build or the quality of the parts .
I am thinking about buying a 2020 Range Rover Evoque ( fully loaded ) . New warranty is 3yrs / 36,000 miles . Would like for you review one . I have watched the watched all the videos on the 2020 and I love all the gadgets . Will trade my 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid .
“I rubbed my jeans on the tires and it ruined them” yes definitely the cars fault 😂
How fragile are those jeans?
My weather stripping came off also. I'll be gluing it back on tomorrow but yeah I'm disappointed. I also have other issues to look into. A whining sound when I crank it and a rattle sound by rear passenger wheel. None of these affect the performance though. Im having them checked out of precaution. The stripping needs fixing though. Hope I don't get water damage
My 2015 Honda hrv 1.6 diesel did 175,000 miles in 4 years without a single breakdown or issue, in under 18 months my Evoque 2.0 diesel is back with The dealer for the 5th time and has only done 62,000 miles, the brand new Evoque I got 1 week ago now won’t start and has under 1000 miles on it, I wish you could buy the Evoque with a Honda Engine
Issue with trunk is that u have to reprogram. If the battery power level goes down it sometimes loses the memory of where to set the height raises to. A simple program seqeunce by pressing buttons will fix this.
Joe any idea how to do this? I have the exact same problem as this guy. Pressing the close button for 30 seconds does nothing.
how to fixe this problem with trunk
@@LucHDStrG height adjustment option for trunk is to open trunk and then manually position it. Then hold down close button on trunk for 3 to 10 seconds. Then press close button to close trunk. Now when you open it, it is set to where you adjusted it to.
@@Joe-eg7ml Thx for the tip , problem solved :)
@@LucHDStrG good to hear.
Hey your car is not a 2016.Just have been had by a MB dealer w/ same situation.Would be very curious to know your vin # and a car fax if you got one?
0:38 That rubber thing fell off my car too! But all you have to do is take a little bit of glue and glue it back on. It's SO simple! I'm a 24 yr old girl and was able to fix it in under 5 min all by myself. No big deal!!!!
My sunglass holder is also jammed omg haha
The quality of this car I knew it longtime ago, I like the design but still no confident to purchase one, if you really want it you may sign contract to lease one but do not owe one, three years later please return it by the end of the learning contract back to dealer.
I had a 2012 and had no issues. Very comfortable for long drives. I can't wait to get a 2020. Great in Canadian winters. I miss my Evoque.
Dealer had to replace my sunglasses holder, you're tellimg facts Bro❗️
Show me a car where the lift gate button is at the top
I have the Range Rover evoque with the tailgate problem too.
Note that you can wash the jeans... no need to replace them if they got dirty.
Off road ... lol ... try Toyota for that. .. why did you purchase it?
Had my since 2009 and not a single thing happen. I think you got a lemon. Maybe I am just lucky. Only issue after 5 year is the radiator tiny leak. Which was under warranty and replaced. And I drive it pretty hard sometime. Maybe because I got the first generation? Which was especially build carefully. I hear the update version of engine (developed by land-rover themself) has quite a few problems. Hope you can get it sorted out. Good luck.
U had an Evoque in 2009??
@@thetrxppiniqqa Opps you are correct! It is not 2009 but 2011. I got the first one that came to Australia. Also still kicking with no problem except wear and any part that need replacement. Even the dealer was amaze that it is in perfect working condition. Despite I like to push the turbo on the freeway everyone now and then.
thank you for the opinion!
I saw that problem with raining inside the car on a Doug's review video on Range Rover.
that's a shame, because is a really good looking car.
3:11 That's not called an "issue with Range Rover". The issue is that you didn't buy a mini-van.
I am from India.
And I am the great great fan of this car.
My moms 2018 has had a few probs with only 24,000 miles :/
I drive evoque 2015 @ 68000 miles still runs good as new !
This car is not 2016 model!!! Maybe this car is not belonging to you. Only you wearing sunglass is your belongings.
Yup!It looks like my 2015
I bought new range rover Evoque 2018 oct After 700 miles when slow down Loud . Clicking noise started coming from the gearbox. I took it to the garage. they said gearbox Solenoid make noise. When slow down. They said. They did not fix. Does every range rover Evoque make noise? Any idea see ( youtube Type. range rover Evoque solenoid )
super car s no it doesn’t. I sold the car too
super car s THEY TELL LIES. !!!!
Just from the front headlight thats not a 2016 model, that model ended in 2015
Yikes... hope that the sunglass holder is empty
Never seen worst review. 😵
It was the A Pillar😂
Wow, every car requires you to take care of it. Get those little little little things fixed. Personally, my rule is if it has engine or transmission problems, then get rid of it, but everything else- FIX it until the fixes start affecting RELIABILITY. If I have to question the reliability, then I gotta get rid of it.
That's what I was thinking. He must have got some kind of lemon. I'm on my second Evoque and never had any of this.
The sunglasses holder is probably not the problem but likely your sunglasses inside maybe jamming it from opening
When these reaches around 100,000 miles time to get rid of it
