- Hey Everyone!
So my Hmmwv is Finally Street Legal!
But there is a few things to take care of, before hitting the road!
I figured that some might end up using this as a sort of guide, so i went ahead and added the Oil-info and Torque specs, and stuff like that.
However, i just have to point out, that i am Not a Hmmwv Technician.
So some of the things said/written in this video, dose not come from personal experiance, but rather from other hmmwv owners, forums, the technical manual, and things like that.

More Humvee videos please! Thank You!
The t-case and transmission oil are kept separate by a seal on the t-case input shaft, the tube in the case is for the lube pump, love watching your progress
Congratulations on getting street legal! I got the 92 helmet top that I converted to Overlander. Lot easier in US to get registered
Thanks a lot!
And yeah, i imagine that just about anything car related, is easier in the US :)
Thanks for watching!
Have fun servicing those inboard brakes in the rear they can be a pain in the backside to work on. Have a great day 😀😀😀😀😀😀
After all that love, that is one happy truck!
I would hope so :)
Thanks for watching!
this appears to have been a well-maintained vehicle. congratulations and have fun with it.
Almost to 10K..you guys are a favorite of mine to watch..keep up the great content, great editing. and such cool vehicles..
Thank you very much!
Outstanding! Thanks for the update on the HMMWV.
Congratulations on the title! And good job on the lights! Unfortunately I had to change almost all lights on mine, since modifying the lights are not allowed in Finland. I have also done the same basic maintenance. Now only new doors and I can hopefully also get it road legal. :)
Thanks a lot!
And to be fair, modifying the lights is Technically not allowed here either, but this is kind of a grey-zone. as it was done bofore it is registered. so there is really nothing to suggest that they weren't just always like that. haha.
Anyway, it's good to hear that you are getting there, with your truck, as well.
Best of luck with it!
Congratulations on getting everything legal! I can't wait to see what you take it through. Good call on the maintenance, especially the tranny filter and hubs. Just so you know, I would have watched you grease all of the grease points! Great content as usual!
Haha, Noted.
Thanks a lot :)
Great video with detailed informations and without any blabla :-) keep on doing this, thank you
Thanks a lot!
Another great video, thanks for the tips.
You seem to really know a lot about these cars. Enjoyed the video. 👍
Thanks a lot. And thanks for watching!
Great videos, please keep doing them.
Thank you!
Nice video again!
Thanks a lot!
Great video fella have been watching for a while now
keep it up !!
Ok maybe this is a 1 time thing but i like to write on my oil filter the mileage and or hours on the oil filter so i know just at a glance when to change it
Just my thoughts .....
Yes, That's never a bad idea.
I can usually keep reasonable track of it, on my own machines.
But i will also write date and km/hours. on the filters, when i replace them on other peoples machines
Thanks for watching!
Very nice ride! Looking at bringing mine to Greece soon. Had it for many years sitting the states, time I drive it. Do you have any data as to how you separated the turn signal wiring to the back lights? I figure I will need to do this mod since many here in Greece have never driven in the states to understand the combined red signals. That’s odd, no red side lights? That helps identify the vehicle position front to back from viewed from the side in the dark. I also have mine equipped with high power IR illuminators for night driving in areas where I would use NVG’s for getting around in the dark but not for combat situations.
Where did you find Dextron III transmission fluid here in the EU?
Thanks a lot!
I don't have any specific "Data" for the lights. but it was actually fairly simple to do on these.
At the rear lights, i re-reouted the wires, that were for the Brake/Ind. lights, to what i had made into the rear Indicators. then i disconnected the brake lights, on the switch at the pedal, and then ran a new wire from there, back to the original brake lights. :)
And also, the Dexron III was pretty hard to find.
I just started going through catalogs, of all the bigger parts-destributors, searching for "Dexron" i didn't put the "III" in the search, as some won't list it like that, so i had to manually look through what the search came up with.
But i did manage to find a few, that supply it. :)
Great video.. thank you for sharing.. How did you check if the lock washer nut is tight? If the 2 tabs are in place does it mean its tight?
Yeah, it sould be, if the tabs are in place. But just to be sure, i also grabbed it with a big wrench, at tried to wiggle it both ways. to make sure it was not just about to work itself loose.
Thanks for watching!
@@KJOff-Road Thank you. This video had been helpful for a lot of us new buyers.
Can you tell me which hand oil pump you took at 10:38? It looks quite solid, isn´t it? Can you share which brand? TXS a lot, Thomas
It's a "Laser Tools 5699 Multi-Purpose Syringe"
I just got it on Amazon. and yeah, seems to work just fine.
Thanks for watching!
@@KJOff-Road Thank you
Was there any metal shavings on any of the magnetic-plugs?
No, not anything out of the ordinary. They were looking fairly clean :)
Where do you live? What was the process like on getting it shipped? Or was it already there
I'm in Denmark.
I didn't do the main part of the shipping, myself. as i wasn't shipping it dierectly here.
But i have another video, with more detail on that: ua-cam.com/video/8hIvrlMb1cg/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching!
You look like a real american at the end of the video
Hahaha, well, i'll take that as a compliment
@@KJOff-Road still waiting for the pressure washer video :'D
@@LogitechXibanga Hah. well, There will be more to it than just that. So im waiting for some parts. so that i can get on with it :)
@@KJOff-Road yea geting parts for such an old unimog must be really hard, good thing that you are a very caple men and can build lots of stuff by yourself :)
You buy very good condition engine and vehicle and tires other body also very good condition.
Abby key start otherwise you going to get some kids taking it for a joyride
Nice Rig, Now that is all road legal can you afford to drive it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well, Diesel is still a bit cheaper than gas... But no..:( Hahah.
Thanks for watching!
Wait…you fabricated your own airlift bumper?!
I sure did.
@TeamArmyTrucks looks fantastic. Bolt pattern looks great. Where did you get the plans for it?
Thanks!
And to be fair, i didn't. get a plan.
I got some of it, from a plan somone on "SteelSoldiers.com" had made.
And then i gathered the rest of the info i needed, around the web. and made my own plan/drawing.
It's not made to replicate the real one, 100%. as i simply couldnt get a piece of steel with the right dimentions.
And also, i wanted to change a few things, for trailer hitch and light sockets.
But the outside dimentions and the bolt patterns are as close to the real deal, as i could get.
