    Nicely done, as you suggested I did that as soon as I got mine, also ran fuel additives and oil additives with the oil change. I noticed a positive change with the performance. Keep up the great content

    I would use yellow thread tape since its rated for fuel applications. Great video.

      I believe that white Teflon tape is the same as yellow Teflon tape, only the thicknesses differ. Red Teflon tape is even thicker.

    Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to do it. I have a question if you don't mind sharing, around 13:05 you have a video of your hmmwv with commercial wheels and tires. What are the dimensions on those? rim size, offset, ect. Thanks

    If you're going to replace your spindle nuts, replace them with the Bluehummer/MM Stage 8 Locking Spindle nuts. They are much easier to install correctly and there are NO KNOWN losses of wheels due to product defects with them (one spindle let go due to incorrect installation of the a nut, and thats it). The stock spindle nuts have a very time-sensitive installation process that - if its not followed exactly, will result in your wheel going byebye on the highway.
    Solution to not having your air impact on hand - Dewalt 20V impact wrench. Those plugs are only supposed to be torqued to 13lbs-ft but for some reason people really crank them in there.

    Thanks Dakota for another great video. My problem is every drain plug at the bottom of the hub is stripped. Do you have any tips for getting them out? Thanks!

    Can a 2 door truck bed style humvee be converted to a 4 seater easily? I assume there is just a cover over the footwell area where you can mount seats, and install new doors and supports?

    • @astr0creep6x6x6
      @astr0creep6x6x6 Рік тому

      with $$$ being the only hindering factor. Chincy rear seats should already be there, a rear "C-pillar" will be necessary, and the 4-door top side rails will also be required along with the rear curtain wall. And doors. And the choice between a hard top or a soft top. Most of what you need can be fabricated from aluminum. or whatever you are comfortable with, IF you do not want to purchase new or old stock from like the 5 sellers in the USA.

    Hey dude, I was wondering if you can answer few questions? After buying this Humvee from the auction site, how hard was/is it to get the plates for it, how much state tax you paid when getting the plates and what type of insurance you got and how much does it cost? thanks in advance

    Thanks for sharing, 2 questions;
    1) what is the rating of your floor jack and stands? I assume 6000lbs weight for the truck.
    2) if I want new wheels/rims. Do they have to ride on the hub and not the studs?

    First and foremost. Never use antisieze on lingnuts. They rely on clamping force to keep the wheel on. So using anti seize could cause the lignite to come loose

    WTF teflon tape?

    • @DakotaWoodHD
      @DakotaWoodHD  2 роки тому +1

      What is wrong with Teflon tape on the threads? When the vehicle was in service, they use either thread tape or paste to help seal these plugs. Before I reinstall, I removed the old thread sealer, then applied new tape. These plugs are steel and not brass.

    • @MisterThinko
      @MisterThinko 2 роки тому

      @@DakotaWoodHD teflon is NOT sealer. Teflon dont seal. Fine tread and purpose liqid on tread seal

    • @astr0creep6x6x6
      @astr0creep6x6x6 Рік тому +1

      @@MisterThinko teflon does seal. It is thread-sealing tape. White, yellow, red, or green Teflon tapes are all the same material just at different thicknesses.
