    Cool! Nearly an hour of tractor maintenance.
    Try to find a muffler with domed ends so there's no seam to hold water.
    Here in the US we have cheap glass packs (generically called cherry bombs)
    I'm interested to see what you come up with for auxiliary lighting.
    (Edit) It's also interesting to see the difference in the European digger and rear outriggers.
    Sliding boom looks like it could dig a lot closer backed up to a wall or other obstacle

    It's not a car muffler:) This is factory stuff. I have the same in Ford 4610 tractor '88 model, which is basically the same in "tractor" part of this machine (same engine). For the same reason the fuel tank valve is hidden in the strange place. About oil my owner's manual recomending 10W30 (M2C-159 A/B), 6,6 liter with the filter. Same oil goes to power steering (not ATF!). In my case same oil goes also to the gearbox and rear differential which is also the reservoir of tractor hydraulic. I don't know if it's the same with machine with torque converter, I have manual 8x4 synchromesh transmission. Now I'm looking for backhoe 550 or 555 so that's why I'm here;) Good luck and regards from Poland!

    I bought a 12 volt oil change pump from JULA for my inboard boat engine. Firstly to pump the old oil out, but found it much easier to fill the engine with new oil too usingthepump. Just rinse it out with diesel between the old and new oil.

  • @tomasrom9073

    The low viscosity engine oil you drained and the refilling of steering oil points at the servopump leaking oil into the crankcase, It is very easy to replace those seals.

    Hi I’m new to this channel, great vid , I had the earlier model , the 550 , nice machine , interesting oil that came out of the engine , I noticed someone mentioned power steering leak , I would say , by looking at the vid , it possibly will be the injector pump , leaking diesel, there’s a small seal on the end of the pump , that goes hard over time , especially on the old kit , I’ve replaced many on my old girls , if you still have the old diesel kicking found give it a sniff you will soon tell , if it does smell of fuel then don’t run her to long like that our you will run the bearings in the motor . Look forward to more vids 👍👍

    Would it be a good idea to retract all the cylinders to keep the chrome out of the weather? You have the space available. Keep an eye on the engine oil level - looked like it might have had diesel in it.

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  Рік тому +1

      Well, yeah. it would. but it's just not possible to retract them all. as some of them move in, there will be others that move out.

    One thing I would mention that is very important when servicing your triple nickel is the drive shaft going from the crankshaft pulling to the hydraulic pump.
    It has 2 universal joints on it and it turns always and it’s not easy to get to and if it goes your hydraulics are dead so it’s important to maintain!
    You can grease the rear universe joint right at the crankshaft pulley you’ll see it just below the radiator and you might have to bump the starter to get it in the right position and then the front u joint can be greased by taking the grill off and on my 555 I grease it blind so I feel around deep under the hydraulic reservoir and once again you might have to bump the starter to get the zirk in the right position and make sure the when you’re pumping the grease gun the grease is actually going in the u joint and not just making a mess I always listen carefully and when the u joint is full of grease it makes a few crackling sounds then you can be sure it good to go!
    And you might want to check the fan belt because it’s much easier to change when you’re servicing the old girl rather than when you’re out in the field! 😀🇨🇦

    Hi, i see that you use a lot of stuff from Biltema. How is your experience with their quality? I am currently in Sweden and honestly, i am amazed what you can find in there.

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, i do get a good bit of stuff from there.
      Main reason is, that the store is fairly close. and it's really the only store in the area, that has a lot of these things right in stock, for quick pick up.
      But ofcourse, the quality of many of their things, is in the low end/China stuff.
      So really, it all depends on what im doing. whether i can make do with the cheap stuff, or if id rather spend the time/money to get the good stuff.

    From what I was able to see I think that maybe some biocide in your fuel tank might be helpful. It was difficult to see what it looked like and it can be mistaken for dirt. Biocide in every tank of fuel for a while would be prudent. You no doubt already are planning on changing hoses and I think it should be a priority so you don’t spew hydraulic fluid into the environment and it is a pain in the cahones to have a hose break on you in the middle of a job and have to fix it on the fly. I subscribed and look forward to many more videos. Be well sir.

    Oh come on. 1: park with the rams inside the cylinders to protect the chrome stick. 2: you never fixed the muffler thats full of holes.
    3: I'm sure there was another item in mind? Anyway that should about do it for now. Just n case! when you have a sometimes used bucket and crowding the bucket up is done to save the rams. It's a good idea to drill a 3/4" hole in the lowest area in each corner of the bucket (so 2X) then to get a few coats of paint on it so it will drain without help and not rust.

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  Рік тому +2

      The video is almost an hour long. i could hardly put more in this one. Haha :)
      But don't worry, i will be doing the other things as well.
      Also, you are right about putting a few holes in the buckes.
      But unfortunately it's too late for these buckets, as they are allready rusted out.
      So they will need a bit of welding, before i have anything to drill holes in :)
