Well, an update to my previous comment. My M-1123 still has no tire carrier. But, just bought a second HMMWV. It's a M-1151A1. That truck has a carrier witch is rare to find on the slant backs. 🍻
Good luck with your install! You'll love it :) It's sometimes in the way, like when you want to open the tailgate, but besides that it's an awesome upgrade!
@@theinspiredjourney got it done! Works awesome. Had to order new thrust bushings as mine didn’t come with them (it was free, so I’ll take a few missing parts!). I’m thinking of wiring a third brake light into it and possibly putting my license plate there too.
it looks great. good job. good choice with this wheel holder. The car looks better and better. I improve my Humvee as well as you do. Greetings from Poland
Hello to Poland from the USA, thank you so much for following our Journey! We have so many great videos coming up next like deep water fording components, winch installation, slant back and hard top installation, and more - so feel free to stay tuned :) We would love to see the progress of your Humvee as well, you're welcome to follow us on Instagram and share photos with us!
I know!! I love this tire carrier, it looks great and very sturdy too but it gets pretty expensive quick! We are fortunate to have purchased it last year when things were less expensive.
@@astr0creep6x6x6 I bought after market one for 250$. From Walmart, I think it's made in China but construction is very solid. Also tire sits lower giving me better rear view.
@@mrdato116 the lifting mechanism is nothing more than the body of a ratcheting chain binder. The HMMWV market has gone mental. I am still pissed about the price of a C-pillar, its shipping weight, and the fact that I can get a full rocker assembly shipped for a 1999 7.3 diesel for a tiny fraction of the so-called shipping cost of the already ex-fucking-spensive C-Pillar.
Make sure you replace your spindle nuts with Bluehummer/MM locking spindle nuts. Also you might want to go ahead and install the civilian anti-decapitation brackets on the hood and firewall.
That is a tough one! They are not easy to get. I would try facebook marketplace in Humvee groups or ebay to start. I think they would be your best bet. Every once in a while a new one comes up. It took us a while to find ours but it was well worth it! Hope it helps :)
The only thing I don’t like about these is that they look really slow to get out of the way to access the tailgate. For example I pull up to the transfer station and the guys start opening my tailgate with this not so much.
Would you please be willing to send me a list of bolts and where they go and where to get them from so I can refurbish all the bolts on both of my trucks I have two M1097A2 and need every bolt replaced. Maybe you have like a list to make it easier for reference
Unfortunately I don't have a list like that. I did put new bolts on the airlift bumper since my airlift bumper didn't come with any bolts so I had to get some. On the truck itself I only replaced bolts that needed replacements if visually didn't look good. My best option for a good supplier of bolts and good grade quality was Tractor Supply in bulk, but that's just my experience. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
Hey Thomas, good to hear from you! We apologize, we had some family situation we've been taking care of, but we'll be back with more videos coming very soon! :)
Rhino is the brand of the tire carrier and the Duramax V8 engine is a family of 6.6 liter Diesel V8 engines produced by DMAX, General Motors etc.. Hope it helps you to understand better! :)
Hey! Thank you :) Not sure if you're referring to the Rhino carrier or the tarp, lol. The tarp is no longer there, it was a quick solution for us before we were able to get the roof installed, so we'd be able to keep the rain out, and some heat in during the winter... although we did install a hard top slant back, which anyway gets rid of any rear view, lol. In general Humvees suck when it comes to good side or rear view... Thanks for watching :)
It stays loose. It locks the carrier open so it doesn't move if you're not on level ground. Cool build.
Cool! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

I agree! Very hard to find nowadays. I love the M-115A1, share some pictures with us on Instagram if you would like. We would love to see it!
I will when paperwork clears
Love the Rhino 🦏 carrier. Just added one to my HMMWV recently as well
Awesome! I love the Rhino carrier as well, I have no regrets installing it - absolutely the best tire carrier for the Humvee, in my opinion :)
Where did you buy it???
I was on the fence about getting one but now I definitely get one, thanks for the video!
Awesome, you won't be disappointed! It's an awesome upgrade. Thanks so much for watching :)
Thanks for sharing. I am installing mine tomorrow. Hopefully. I’m tired of my spare in the bed taking up space. It bounces around when I’m off road.

Cool! I've seen some jeeps with those in town and they look cool, great idea :) keep us updated!
Beautiful 👍🏻
Thank you so much!

That thing looks great, and it goes for premium money lol. saw one for 1500$. I most likely will go with some after market budget option.
I know!! I love this tire carrier, it looks great and very sturdy too but it gets pretty expensive quick! We are fortunate to have purchased it last year when things were less expensive.
Building mine. These things might have $200 worth of steel and a half-spools worth of mig wire in the build.

@@astr0creep6x6x6 yeah humvee market is crazy. I recently got c pillar for 300$ and it's bent slightly, but it was locally, so I had to grab it.

Hey, thanks for the feedback - definitely going on the list for future upgrades. Appreciate you watching! :)
Tell me more about the human anti-decapitation device.
nice video
Thanks so much, Ivan! :)
I like it.
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed :)
Great tire carrier where can I get one ? Need help finding one new !

Was it new from Rico? Or e bay. Iooks good. I'm looking for one.
Thanks! It was a used one. They are very hard to find nowadays. Probably eBay would be the best option.

Yeah, it is a bit slow to access the tailgate... that's really the only disadvantage we've found so far!
Stupid question….but do you think an H2 tire carrier would work?
Hey, I am not sure!
Where did you get this?
Luckily I found it used last year, they sure are hard to come by!

Hi, Are you looking for a list of bolts for the rhino or the entire truck?
The truck
I’ve got two of them and looks like you replaced all with new bolts, or at least the bumper, and I would like to do the same

I don't understand the words "Rhino" and "Duramax" used in HMMWV videos. Definitions pleeze. Larry

Looks like a bada$$ piece of equipment....but...I see a design flaw....
No more rear view?

That's not airlift. That'd mechanical lift
