    This is one of the best UA-cam channels for learning Cubase. Thank you, that was an excellent presentation..May I ask, If I upgrade from Cubase 10.5 Pro to Cubase 11 Pro, will I still have my track presets? I get confuse because sometimes, throughout the years and with every upgraded version, some things are missing and some are not. Just wondering

      Yes, you should have all your track presets - I didn't lose any of mine I'd created when I upgraded from 10.5 to 11.

      I upgraded from 10.5 to 11 and most of the songs I tried to load the pool was missing. Not fun.

    Did my debut album in Cubase LE, and as a new user I just used the most basic software features that allowed me to get the job done. Now that I'm beginning the next album, I'm taking a bit more time to explore some of the features that would help me further improve the sound, or simply make my life easier. Presets are a new discovery for me, and I'm excited to start exploring what you've covered in this video. Thanks so much for explaining things so clearly. I've subscribed, and will check out your other videos soon. 💯

    why is cubase making my presets all audio tracks and not midi tracks?

    Thanks. I am going to spend a little time reviewing my previous projects and make some presets for myself and some of the people I regularly work wirh.

    Hi, thanks for this video! Am i right in saying that once you have applied a track preset there is no way to remove it?

    • @musictechtuition

      You can change the settings of the channel/track that has been created from the preset, it's just a starting point (in many cases).

    Ace! I love information desseminated with sardonic sideways looks and a new t-shirt every time! BTW how come I've only got 136 track presets? I want 4k like you... I suppose it's because I'm using Elements 11?

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  3 роки тому +1

      I think so - the track presets all come from the content that you have installed, and Pro has a lot more content than Elements does, plus I've got some extra Steinberg software such as the full version of Halion / Halion Sonic.

    A very helpful video, like ALL of your tutorials. Structured in a very practical manner and commented on in an understandable manner, too. Many Thanks. I have rarely used the track presets so far because I have the impression that there are around 3-5 (or more) inserts in each of the many project tracks that have a major (negative) effect on the CPU performance (Win 10 / Intel i 7 / approx. 3800 MHz / 16 GB RAM). I have one more question: Many Cubase presets often have "AM" in front of the preset name, e.g. B. "AM Drum BUSS 1 GRP Rock ST". What does that mean, "AM" ? Thanks! Greetings from 🇩🇪

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your kind words! The AM Presets refer to those created by Allen Morgan - he has produced a number of content packs for Steinberg, and I've found his audio track presets to be worth a listen (hence my predisposition to searching using AM as it tends to give me good results - should have made that more explicit in the video).

    Very interesting video, very much! I use Amplitube as Cubase VST. I created different track preset and would like to change preset automatically while Cubase is running. Do you think is it possible? Many thanks!

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  7 місяців тому

      Thanks! Do you mean automating the change of which Amplitube preset is in use as the song plays?

    • @enricofiori7641
      @enricofiori7641 7 місяців тому

      yes, exactly!

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  7 місяців тому

      @@enricofiori7641 Unfortunately Amplitube doesn't offer anything useful in terms of automation. It exposes 16 "parameters" to Cubase, and Bypass, and that's it. So Cubase (and I'd think any other host) has no way of automating its behaviour, because it doesn't present anything for the DAW to control... I've just tried on Amplitube 5 here, and it's a similar situation for SampleTank 4 (also from IK Multimedia)... I don't think they've put enough thought into DAW intefgration in that respect... although Amplitube seems to take a while to change preset anyway, so it'd probably be a bit janky even if it did work.

      If the filters are clear, then you may need to install more content to get more track presets; one issue with a lot of Steinberg software is that there are many different permutations available, and sometimes you may not have everything installed that you should do. If you look in the Download Assistant, check if all the content for your version of Cubase is installed as this is often the issue.

    I have done that, but it doesn't match the Volume, Pan or Send. Only the Inserts and EQ (as you can see in your video). Is there a way to "copy&paste" ALL the channel config from one session to another, and ideally a group of channles, not one by one. Thanks!

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  3 роки тому

      Copying between projects, I'd think the quickest way to do that would be to import the track from the other project, and then copy/paste the channel settings from the imported channel to the destination channel in the new project. Not aware of a group version of this (copy only does the first of the selected channels, although it does allow paste to multiples)

    My friend, do you know if it is possible to save the name, routing, panner and level volume for the tracks?

    • @musictechtuition
      @musictechtuition  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately that's not saved as part of a track preset (for good reasons), so there isn't a straightforward way that I know of.
