    One of the most overlooked things in today's society is alcohol, because it is one of the main reasons for violent crime, in public or domestic. But I guess no one wants to talk about that because people are too selfish and are not willing to give up their glass of wine everyday, even tho some neighbors wife is beaten everyday. Alcohol and environments where alcohol is present, are statistically proven to be more dangerous.

Grappling may not be the tool for a certain situation, but striking may be. It's best to have grappling, striking and a gun. All bases covered. And a good pair of running shoes.

      So wrong my friend. Swimming analogy: you don't have to be Michael Phelps, Olympic swimmer to teach how to float and basic swim. Neither do you have to be a black belt to teach the basic jiu-jitsu fundamentals. One of my instructors is a purple, one brown. Even another white belt can teach the techniques if they know them. It doesn't take but a few classes to get the skills. You do need to practice because if you learn a song on piano and then stop practicing piano, well there's a shelf life for these skills.

    unfortunately grappling is the worst thing if the attacker has a knife which many will have. better to carry a gun or pepper spray and understand/know your surroundings and distance. the other thing is that the attacker could also have some street fighting and grappling experience. combine that with a weapon and the smaller female is in trouble. better to not get hands on at all, not worth the chance. not to mention, most attacks will not occur on a padded surface and barefoot.

      A more practical form of self-defense for women would be to concealed carry a gun with also being trained to shoot a gun ( especially if you live in a US state / country where it's legal to concealed carry a gun ), being surrounded with a group of female friends or a boyfriend / husband while walking ( because any murderous predator would be less likely to attack / kill someone if they're with someone ), or avoid walking in sketchy areas.

    • @sadetwizelve
      @sadetwizelve 9 місяців тому

      @25taylorkw I agree,"women's self defense" should be acknowledged for what it is,sexist because it only gets mentioned when the attacker is a man. Most women that get attacked,get attacked by women lol BUT against a man,BJJ being her foundation is a joke! The strength difference is too large. "Women's self defense" should be weapon based off top and DIRTY! These bjj dudes aren't teaching women to spit,scratch,bite,gouge. A fn triangle choke attempt in the real world against a man will get a woman killed. They're so dishonest.

      Yes, you definitely should run, if you have the chance. This video does show, in the beginning, how you can be grabbed and you can't run. Now, you're forced to do something. Being grabbed in a certain position, you may not be able to pull your weapon. You'd have to wrestle your way into a good position to discharge your weapon. So, grappling does have it's place. So does a weapon, so does running away and striking.
