  • August 20, 2018: In this video I will show you step by step how to properly throw the Fitec EZ Throw Cast Net.
    The net used in this tutorial is a Fitec EZ Throw 1000 Series 4' Super Spreader and is available from Academy Sports. My local Academy had them on clearance for under $12.
    Net Used In This Video: goo.gl/n1HLrN
    Throwing a cast net can seem intimidating. There is definitely a learning curve involved, and lots of practice is required. The Fitec EZ Throw series of cast net with the Accu Throw ring helps beginners accurately throw their nets.
    If you have any questions, post them in the comments section and I'll do my best to answer them. When it comes to cast nets, the best advice I can give is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

    Thanks man! Fishing buddy just gave me one of these today. Said he couldn't get it to work right. I couldn't either, but figured it had to do with holding the ring and tossing it. The part with picking up the back lead and draping it over the ring is what brought it all together. Thanks for sharing!

    Man I like this net really is easy to cast and get a good spread. I think it will do just fine for catching pin fish for bait.
    Wouldn't recommend it for anything else but small baits like Pin Fish and Shrimp. I have no idea how anyone would find Shrimp near the shore or a pier but eh! Good for small bait. I had a few bad casts I find it better to use it in the water rather than in your yard. $11 was a good deal but I paid $40 for mine.

    Hmmm the part you claim is the back part of the net you grab with the weights on it looks more like the front that you're grabbing not the back part videos don't always do that good to help until you end up figuring it out on your own later. Best way to find out I guess is try it both ways in the back yard, I guess. Disappointed that Wally World didn't have a 5-6 foot net.

    • @TheWeekendAngler
      @TheWeekendAngler  5 років тому

      You're grabbing the line that's closest to you and bringing it to the front. I've owned a few Walmart Nets. They rip far too easily. I'm not a huge fan of this design, and use a standard fitec rs1000 net most of the time, but this net does work as intended.

Haven't did any cast netting since I was 14 and I am 36 now. I just the other day found out about the circle hook. Works good but I already had 2 cat fish get hooked in the eye with a circle hook. Dont be tempted to buy this type on net over 4 feet, I made that mistake, I like a dummy thought a 6 foot one would be cool, no, its pretty much impossible to throw. This thing turned out to be a notorious tangler and no, you cant fold it to make it shorter you will never get that perfect pancake circle, I have a four foot one and it throws perfect every time. my six foot is a rats nest tossed in my garage never to be thrown again, maybe ill just cut it up for the weights!
