  • A tutorial with plenty of action on my favourite and EASIEST way to catch pike on topwater lures. This approach is more tailored towards shallow waters like canals and is exceptionally effective over the summer months. I've opened with a couple of clips from my recent trips using this technique, if you've already seen them feel free to skip to about 3:30 for the start of the video! The best ways to catch pike often vary place by place and for different conditions and i'm not claiming this is the best or easiest, it's just a great lure to have and if you've never used it before you don't know what you're missing!
    I hope you all enjoy the video, if you do please don't forget to like and subscribe it really helps me out!

    George i have fished the savage gear snakes for 2 years i have had pike to 24LB 9OZ but it has a design flaw at the rear end of the snake It's tail there is a round plastic blob this is where the strings are attached to the snake i have had pike to 24LB 9OZ on the snake but ihave had pike nip this plastic blob off and when you retrieve it all you will have is the head of the snake and thats it also if you get a snag it can happen but i came up with a simple fix just use a bit of super glue or epoxy resin around the blob and your good to go never happened to me ever again after this fix also George attach the snake via the other ring so it just swims 10 cm under the surface It's awesome very brutal takes heart stopping stuff keep safe brother,Dellboy

      Cor blimey a 24lb pike would be a dream come true for me. I know what you mean about the blob on the end of the snake I have wondered before, I'll have to see if I can dig out some superglue. Thanks for the comment! I had no idea what the other ring was for

      Will try have a go next time im on the river. I was discouraged from them last season after having about 4 takes and not hooking up once. Do you think I was doing something wrong or is the hook up rate naturally lower?

      @delwigzieful 2 роки тому +1

      @@adventurefishinguk no i dont think you was doing anything wrong i fish it with a flurocarbon leader George just get your confidence up with the salmo LIL bug oh by the way that blob on the snake don't cut it,it will come apart but honestly use the other ring it is awesome snake just swims below the surface it's so good,but don't give up on the bug mate,Dellboy

    • @adventurefishinguk

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve never tried the rat, been on my to do list to pick one up for quite some time though! Yeah the snake has a great hookup rate compared to a lot of the topwater lures
