Never heard of Mayhaw! I've always wanted to visit Louisiana for many reasons. Getting old now, retired with a small income, and neither my wife or I in good health anymore so it ain't gonna happen. But we are comfortable in these old southern WV mountains and I'm thankful for that. I enjoy your videos Amy. Real, country, and down to earth. Thanks and God bless y'all.
Loved this video. I have never even heard of Mayhaw fruit or trees. Wish my Grandma was still around so I could ask her about that fruit. Thanks for the info....bet I would love the taste of this jelly. ❤
Hey girl hey! Love the mayhaws! Like I said in the muscadine jelly video where I confused it with the mayhaws (I made a correction comment later), my parents would always go pick mayhaws at my aunt's house and then my mom would make mayhaw jelly. I love it when that tartness gets you right below the jawline. Eeew weee!! Good memories! Keep on representing Louisiana, girl! 💜💛
Amy, about 2 yrs ago I bought a mayhaw tree. The tag on it said it didn’t need another tree for cross pollination. It’s doing really well, but no mayhaws as of yet. I noticed it has large thorns on the branches. I know crab apple trees have those thorns, but I didn’t think mayhaws had them…but what do I know. Could you tell me if your mayhaws have thorns?
Yes my mayhaw do have thorns. It took my trees maybe 4 years to begin making berries. I have a couple of young trees planted and I think they made like 3 berries 😄. Look in the spring to see how many flower blooms. That will be your berries. Give them time and keep me posted. 😊💜💜
Amy when you get your next YT check get you a big AC unit. You deserve the best and I know you could do this in your house and be cool...but we just love your canning kitchen. Stay cool we got temps around 104 this weekend in GA. I'm staying inside. 🍑🍑🍑
Oh girl. I told John I needed a Bigger ac unit. When he gets the time he is gonna install a bigger one. It is hit here, too but not quite 104. Bless your heart.

I've never tasted Mayhaws but would love too.❤
Just a beautiful product. Never heard of this tree but I thank you for bringing it to my attention. Your never too old to learn something.
I need, to look up how far spread these trees are. Not sure.
That's just about the prettiest jelly I've ever seen, Amy! Beautiful color, and I know it tastes wonderful, too 😍😋❤
Thank you so much.

Homemade jelly , I used to make all kinds. So good.
