- CHICKEN FRIED STEAK with WHITE COUNTRY GRAVY
1 to 2 pounds tenderized CUBED STEAKS
Make 3 dredging pans (I use pie plates)
(1) 1 cup All Purpose Flour
Salt and Pepper
(2) 1/2 package Ranch Dressing Mix
1 cup Buttermilk
1 Egg
1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
(3) 1/2 package Ranch Dressing Mix
1 cup flour
1 sleeve crushed Ritz Crackers
Dredge pieces of steak in the flour, then the buttermilk mixture. Then press the pieces into the cracker mixture to flatten them a bit and pick up the crumbs. Fry 3 to 4 minutes on each side in a shallow amount of oil on medium heat.
My favorite part of this video I just so happened to run across is, EVERYTHING. Especially about God. I loved this.

Hey Amy! Girl, those chicken fried steaks and white gravy have got my heart and stomach singing! LOL So funny because I just happened to buy some cube steak yesterday. I haven't really bought them lately because the prices have gone sky high!! Everything is so expensive now and being on a fixed income, its really been a challenge to budget out a weekly supper menu. I splurged on the CF steaks this week. Hee hee Most of the time I'll just do a quick flour dredge because I don't feel like doing all the steps but I'll be dogged that I'm going to try my best to do them the right way this time. This looks great. I am going to try the cracker crumbs next time , it looks so crunchy. I know what you mean about doing something you enjoy. I am in an apartment since I lost my home in a tornado last year and decided I was too old to rebuild since I am a widow now and I have been getting some flowers ready for pots on the patio. I’m sorry you’re up late uploading but selfishly it cheers me up to see you. Of course it’s an hour later here. Cubed steak was a family favorite at our dinners. It was always served with mashed potatoes and LaSeur English peas. Haven’t had any in ages. Haven’t ever dredged my steaks the way you did. Sure would like to try it. Thank you for the encouraging words reminding us to let the Lord take care of our problems. We need reminding sometimes don’t we? @@amyslouisianakitchen LeSeur is the only way to go. Amy I had 4 days that I felt some improvement then I was terribly sick. Yesterday was horrible. I guess I should had gone to the ER but they always seem to want to admit me. I called Donna at work, which I don’t do because she works switchboard. She knew something was wrong right away. I hope I feel well enough to cook for my family for my birthday. I think I decided on the Ravioli Lasagna. Salad and French bread. I will use garlic powder because the rest of them like it. If the day comes and I’m unable to do it, we’ll order out. My family is so good to me. Sure do love you, Ms Sunshine. Sometimes I think you are just the person I want to talk to. When I was 5 yrs old,I stood in a. Chair at the stove and fried eggs? Momma also let me make biscuits too. I told her I remember how she did it so I don’t want her to help me. Well. I made a huge biscuit. I didn’t remember to roll out little ones !, I have always loved to cook.

I am a retired lawman and was fortunate to of had a grandmother that let me hang around and watch her and learned to cook! My Dad was a good cook between the Boy Scouts and cooking at our hunting camp!
I have enjoyed cooking weather it be inside or outside on a fire!
Christmas was a big deal for my grandmother cooking a huge breakfast then later on Christmas Dinner!
The morning my grandmother ask me to make the biscuits was a honor and best compliment I could of ever received!
As a matter of fact when she asked me I told her I had a great idea and took her apron off of her and told her the guys would cook breakfast.
Even tho she and my mom and dad are all gone now we carry it on today!
Nothing like a Log Rolling Breakfast on Christmas Morning with family and friends!

I feel like I am sitting in the room with a friend . Also I will have to try your secret for your gravy. My secret is I stir in a can of cream of mushroom 🍄 soup with the rue and then I add my milk. I love chicken fried steak. I haven’t had in awhile! I love your crust!! Mine tend to fall off, but my dredging technique is a little different. I’m gonna try yours. We all need to be grounded. Such good advice. My 10 year old self was outside playing all day. It’s almost time here in Virginia to start thinking about the garden and flowers and all that wonderful stuff. OMGoodness - I made this for supper tonight and it was DELICIOUS! The meat was so tender, yet the coating was so crunchy! My Mom and Aunts made cube steak when I was a kid and it was so good, but I have struggled with making it my entire adulthood. It just never turned out tender when I made it before - no matter how many different ways I tried. The trick you shared at the end for 'pushing' it into the cracker crumbs is such a great tip! The cube steaks nearly doubled in size (so there's a lot more of that yummy crunchy topping on the outside). Thank you so much for sharing.

I'm going to try this method, but I have a question. Every time I've ever cooked cubed steak it's tough. What am I doing wrong?
I was just messaging with another friend about that. I haven’t had that problem. I wonder if it is because I press the steaks out pretty thin before I fry them. Other than that if you are already doing that I just don’t know. Unless it was a tough cut of meat. I hope next time is better for you.
