I’m so glad y’all videoed Phil making the jelly. It’ll mean more to the family than the fans in years to come. It’s priceless!!!
Repent and trust in Jesus. He's the only way. We deserve Hell because we've sinned. Lied, lusted stolen, etc. But God sent his son to die on the cross and rise out of the grave. We can receive forgiveness from Jesus. Repent and put your trust in him.

Phil is an amazing man ! 75 and still bending down to pick up the May Haw berries! So nice to see his family learning how to make it We need a lot more of it in today’s world! God Blees
Because he never sat down and acted “old”.
And rocking Raybans
I killed my first duck in about 1952, and my first goose in 1953. That will be 70 yrs ago in December. But I grew up further south in Texas and we have alkaline soil where mayhaws do not grow. My mother grew pomegranetes she grew from cuttings she got from relatives in Denton County, and she made jam that put all the mayhaw jelly I ever tasted to shame. I told that to the owners of Treesearch Farms in Houston, twenty years ago, and behold: pomegranates are now being sold on the Texas Middle and Upper Coasts.

Great job teaching the next generation of jelly makers. Takes me back to watching my mom. Still make jelly myself!
Members of the hawthorn family have a tonic effect on the heart. Phil's not just making jelly, he's making medicine. Good to see.
Your girls are going to remember this day with you. Good job
It's good to see families coming together and learning the ways of the land and seeing traditions passing on 🇺🇲TEXAS PATRIOT HERE 🇺🇸
I still watch duck dynasty lol. America’s family! Thank you all for everything you have done, are doing and will do! God bless and take care.
That little lady, going to make some lucky man a great wife . Nothing better than family recipies, every taste brings back memories of the past generations.
There is something special about that man. Living legend. I had to come back and edit this comment. I should have said I’ve met many men like him down here where I am from which is the south. He is the a pitta me of a good southern man, And we should all strive to be like him.
I see you mean 'epitomy'. good choice...
I love how Phyllis is savoring every moment with her dad! What a smart Godly woman! Life is short and people are gone before we know it. Important life lesson for those that are wasting time. God bless Robertson family and all those that are watching! 😊

Thanks for still letting us into your lives! We need it more than ever.
My husband used to live in Louisiana and his in laws made it and never knew how. Thanks for sharing! Love you guys.
Remember my grandmother passing down here canning recipes!
Phil thanks for sharing this family recipe . I appreciate it. Blessings 🙏❤️.
Where can we purchase Mayhaw jelly
I love Phil's teaching style. It reminds me of when I was a kid. My grandparents, or other old folks who were friends of the family would teach me their skills in the same way. It's funny though, because as a child I would think, how many times are they going to repeat those instructions to me? Looking back on it now, I am sure glad they did. Our attention spans as children are short, and so it takes repetition to make it stick in our memories.
This was fabulous! Tickles me to see the women who hunt ~ Phyllis & Bullfrog ~ in the kitchen with Phil, making memories that'll last a lifetime. Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY
Never heard of Mayhaw jelly till Duck dynasty. Looks fabulous. Hope to try a spoonful someday. In the duck dynasty episode they put a tarp down under the tree, made pickup simple. Not sure why they didn’t follow the same plan
I was thinking the same thing.
Our local produce stand sells it…absolutely delicious!
I bought some last year and this year it’s awesome. I think Phil’s might be better , cause it’s darker than what’s online. They probably thin it out to make more jars. I would love to try Phil’s.
Mabie it was to ad an activity for the kids to pick out the good ones
@@Conduitgene yes, he's teaching them how to pick out the proper ones so they'll remember from then on.
& That is exactly why you hang out with the older folks so you can learn something about natural food incase everything goes left with the supply chain and the grocery stores. GREAT JOB MR ROBERSON 👏.
This makes me wish I had a mayhaw tree!! 😋
Awesomsauce! Thank you all for sharing , and thank you Phill for your love in faith, family and cooking!:) 🙏💫
I do it a little different. But same process. I put the mayhaws in the cheesecloth and boil them in the cheesecloth. Smash them during the boiling process. Then I put the cheesecloth in the strainer. Once it cools down a little, I start twisting the cheesecloth until all of the juice is gone. It’s not as big of a mess and I get more juice out of the fruit. I use this recipe for strawberry. Cherries, blueberries, blackberry and whatever fruit you want. I even did watermelon once.

Looks awesome! I know y’all don’t need to worry about food prices because you can live right off the land. What a blessed life. ❤️
I would love to taste that jelly. Looks pretty!
Vacuumed a small tube of mayhaws this morning, have several gallon bags in freezer. Wife is starting the jelly making this morning. Lost my Mayhaw once to Katrina, but it put back out from the roots and the tree made it through Ida, and gave a good yield this year. I use a small sears shop vac with two lengths of hose and a 6’ section of plastic pipe to pick up everything under the tree.
This bring back memories of my grandmother and great aunts making mayhaw jelly in South Georgia!!! Go Dawgs!!!!
Aaaaweee, this is so awesome. I love it when the older generations continue to pass down good things to the new generation! Oh how we need more of this in this world!!! Thank you Phil, you and your family are such a blessing!!!
One day hopefully I'll get to try it.
I feel like we are listening in on a family secret. Pretty awesome that he is sharing this with the world. His legacy will extend beyond his children and grandchildren. For God's glory!!
Worked the garden and fruit trees and vines my whole childhood. My parents never bought vegetables or fruit from the grocery store and it was hard hard hard work for my mom and dad along with us children. At the time I hated it but today when I can 40 quarts of tomatoes and 30 pints of different jelly every year I appreciate what they taught me in the 70’s and 80’s it’s a healthy lifestyle.
Great to see Phyllis cooking with her dad
I love how you all live off the land and how you teach these skills to the next generation. Just an idea, probably will be easier to pick berries if you lay tarp down before shaking tree. God bless you and your beautiful family
This man is fantastic. I made his “10 minute cornbread” last night with some soup beans I made and froze the left overs. It took 20 mins for the defrost and reheat of the soup beans and it took me 14 mins to make Phil’s “10 min” corn bread but I’m confident when I make it the best time I’ll crunch it down a few mins. I love Phil, I watch all his speeches and I miss suing him every week… GOD PLEASE CONTINUE TO BLESS THE WHOLE ROBERTSON FAMILY❤ They have changed more lives than they could imagine. All the Robertson men did an amazing job, made beautiful families, and helped the man the raised you RISE infront of OUR creator, and be the EXAMPLE of how EVERY MAN SHOULD BE.
Unfortunately I’m like ,Willie, Si, and a little bit of Phil combined. I think I might be BIPOLAR 😂😂😂 I LOVE YALL. God bless you all.
Who else loves Phil he's awesome wish he was my father even tho i love and honor my mom and father Phil is teaching us all the way of life all around spiritually mentally and physically

Loved watching this and will have to watch this with a pad and pen. I've never eaten Mayhaw jelly before but sure looks good. Thanks
That squirrel died of lead poisoning 😂
Lovely showing the next generation 👏
I bought a jar once and it's a very nice and mild jelly, but so good. I wonder if we can find those Mayhaws in CA.?
Never have seen it made, just have eaten it. It's perfect. Odd color for jelly...pretty, light sweet
Thanks for the recipe, now maybe my kids will learn how!
A beautiful family tradition being passed to Bull Frog and Phyllis. Blessings for sure. I made some strawberry preserves this year. Fresh picked is the best❣️✝️
I love to watch this amazing family and Phil the best teacher!
Really cool. Thank you for showing us how to do it.
i m also hunter and bussy man but watch your video closely i love field camping and cooking
Great video. Pass it on down Brother Phil.
Looks delicious 😋
Love mayhaw jelly. It's my favorite.
Thanks for sharing the Mayhall Tradition !
Now we need a homemade biscuit recipe
Never heard of those berries before knows how to make jam looks delicious surprised only three jars from all those berries WOW
Cool
I would have put down a blue taro under the tree to make gathering them easy
Best Jelly in the World!!!
Thank you
i love this so much!! love getting to see more of the other family members and always love getting to see phil!!! can we please get more videos like this!!!
That is so nice that he passed down the mayhay jelly to his daughter Phyllis.
All the leftover skin and such makes great fertilizer for the yard. 😁
I miss watching y'all's show
I’ve eaten Mayhaw jelly all my life. I’m 75 yrs old. My grandmother taught me how to gather them from the “Mayhaw Pond”. Just like you do, except we spread sheets under the sheets & I’d climb up in the tree. I still make the jelly & some syrup every year. They are tiny berries. The Mayhaw is a Hawthorne that fruits. It used to fruit in May, thus, Mayhaw!. The Mayhaw is indigenous to the Deep South only. A true southern delicacy!. Everyone loves it.
Wonderful video. THIS is what makes family strong. Cords that bind. My Grandmother passed down canning and gardening to my sisters. Phil is Patriarch
I hope Phil teaches Us some more good recipes
That’s awesome!
If I'm not mistaken, Phil is bullfrogs great grandpa
Correct. I believe she's Alan's granddaughter
She's great grand daughter .
WOW! Mr. Phil can do that at 75 years old?
Never heard of these berries before. Not around me in michigan.i make blueberry, strawberry, pear, places n some plum jams.
AMEN, SEMPER FI.
It's a shame all those Robertson grandkids turned yuppies, and won't be able to carry the traditions of this great family. Stone seems to be the only one that promotes it to his little girl. Great job BK/bullfrog.
Mayhaws probably started out as a food for poor folks to harvest and turn into something to eat. I know that you don’t just find the trees everywhere but when you find one you will probably find several. The jelly is crazy delicious on a buttery biscuit. But I don’t know what other jelly to compare it to as it just has a beautiful soft flavor. Glad to see Phil instilling this into the next generation. I tell you that with where the politics is taking us right now, treats like theses may turn back into necessities. Thank y’all for sharing
I wonder if the recipe works for other flavors besides mayhaw?
Mayhaws and other species of Hawthorn are heart tonics or "cardioprotectives", just thought I'd let you know everyone.
Y’all ever though about laying a tarp down? Or is that too Yuppy for y’all?
tarps help pick up
How long does it take to grow mahaw trees before you get berries? I would love some cuttings. South Carolina may have them here but I've never seen them. That jelly made from the Legend would be worth the drive.
Im surprised you guy's didn't use a tarp to collect the mayhaw's.
4 generations 👍
Phil, Phyllis, Nan and BK.
Now to find some berries.
What do they taste like? Can you make a pie with them.
Looks like a cherry variety.
This is how they get the almonds off the trees in the California Almond groves.
So glad to finally meet Bullfrog!
drop an ol tarp on the ground and give the shake.. easy pick'ns
Where do you find those berries?
The flexibility in Phil's 70+ knees makes me envious. I'm 56 and that would kill me to do that.
Man I hate installing those refrigerators
these guys are my new adopted family
So, how many jars did it finally make? Was Phil correct when he estimated 25-28 jars?
Can you please send me some mayhaw seeds so I can plant them here in Tennessee
Phil you don’t water bath your jelly just pour in jars and it pings
How about that slow jelly?
Never heard of mayhaw
Lay a tarp and save your back.
Put a tarp down and wala
👍👍💕
Next time no music please. We can’t hear Phil
Put a tarp under that tree???
✌️😎📸💯
