Glad you're enjoying the bag George. Thanks for giving it a considered review. You're right on about the water bottle pockets, I usually size them for Nalgenes since that's what our customers mostly use. If the sternum strap is bugging you those buckles are split so you can take them off. More EDC stuff is in the works and I am going to be looking at black colorways since that demand is out there.
@@dogwiz I can neither confirm nor deny Checkpoint 2.0 at this time. We just released the new Antero this last week however. I've used the Antero 2 for flying, hiking, fishing and EDC and it works well for all of those. You can run out of room if you are doing more than 3-4 days out of it but that depends on how you pack.
First time I’ve came across your channel. Excellent video. I’m already set on Kifaru and mystery ranch for my hunting packs. While checking out Kifaru website for an edc bag I saw this bag. Your video is the perfect in-depth detail to what this bag is. My current Swiss bag has about 6 months of life left, it’s served me well for 13 years..sign I’m getting old. Keep making videos like this. Straight to the point with details and footage.
Just to comment on the no black bag thing is most hunting pack companies got away from black and multi cam black because it soaks up heat and heat is bad for meat on your back. Kifaru offers their packs in a variety of colors multi cam, coyote, green and grey and sometimes special runs of other colors and camo. My guess is they don't make black bags because there is not enough demand for that color for their hunting lineup. Great review as always, my bank account hates your channel though. You have one of the cleanest presentations with thoughtful and the most organized information on UA-cam. I use a Kifaru Muskeg for hunting and I love it.
I have the kifaru 357 mag and the escape and evade pack that I dock to the back. Everything ive gotten from them is top notch and the customer service is awesome. I love my gear from them. Well worth the $$, in my opinion...
Don’t think I’ve heard of this brand before. Definitely going to add this company to my backpack website list. This is how it begins… I add a brand to the list, I start checking the website once in a while, I ultimately end up spending too much on another bag. Sigh… it’s a vicious cycle. Thanks buddy, great job as always!
I've been researching kifaru for years. There great products but I've yet to pull the trigger. I'm giving my son and wife my 2 other backing kits and I'm upgrading to kifaru this summer finally for my elk season.
I definitely want to pick up a kifaru for sure check out the ula dragon fly….amazing pack. And for a larger ruck look at the crossfire dg3 they just came to America not too long ago so not to many people know about it but I’ve had a lot of bags and it is amazing, best carrying bag I’ve ever had period.
Great review on a brand not many check out! Why this one and not the shape charge? It would be cool to see a Kifaru EDC pack showdown with the Antero, Shape Charge and Checkpoint.
I’d love to see your review of the pac safe backpacks. I don’t know if they have cut resistance on the sides or where it stops at the zippers. Love your reviews brother!
You know You and Nomads have become my favorite bag reviewers, and in particular I really appreciate the variety of backpacks you review. Now as for this bag... wow, man... this is one of the more exciting bags I have seen this year! I feel like we've been going through a little dry spell. And, they are even making this in Dark Multi X-Pac! Nice! I am digging the 27/28 liter volume and size for larger/taller folks like me. How would you compare this to the Axiom 24? It's been on my radar, but I'm really a Mission Workshop guy . This one is likely to come into my collection though. Take care George!
Hi George and community I have watched several dozen of your backpacks videos and you have really opened my eyes to what is a quality bag and I have my eyes set on either the alpha one niner pathfinder or the Abel Carey max but was wondering if there is a bag you guys have seen that I should look at. I’m Looking for a bag that’s not roll top it has a laptop compartment also a sternum strap, a deep water bottle pocket, has high viz lining, 28 to 34L for size organization panel, has a rigid structure/self-supporting and less than 5 pounds with no bungee cords on the front. I’m 6ft tall and 150 lbs and a Eagle Scout so I’m outside a lot and carry a bit more than the average person I feel because you know “ be prepared “ I will be using this bag when I go to university it will be my edc bag- Thanks
Was looking at this bag for an EDC and travel a lot. My biggest concern would if my laptop would fit inside. Just got upgraded to a beast of a 17” HP laptop, plus a few other accessories. Wondering if that would fit inside.
This one by a mile! Better laptop compartment and should straps. Better access to the main compartment. Water bottle pockets are cooler on the Antero though..
The grabhandle at the top ripped the fabric where it connects on mine. The webbing isn’t backed/reinforced by anything. Trash brand these days. Kifaru told me it was a design flaw, yet the still sell them.

Eric, any plans for an updated Checkpoint 2.0?

kifaru is the best made, well done george

I love your bag reviews so much, George. They are the best reviews on UA-cam. Thank you for taking the time to make these awesome videos.
Finally a video of my favorite pack company! Also that a GoPro Max footage is 🔥, thanks brother!!!

Made in the USA. I carry the shapecharge. Love it
Finally kifaru!!
Another great bag review. Thanks George. Really enjoy this channel
You have the best reviews ever!!
Looks like a great bag with lots of features but I’m with you- a no black bag is a no-go for me.
Damn Kifaru does it right! I know what you’re saying about those smoother YKK zips, some just feel better on different bags.
Peace George, Just A Quick Shout To Say I Really Enjoy Your Videos And Respect Your Opinions On Gear. Thank You For Doing What You Do!!
Kifaru rocks! Good review George.
I definitely want to pick up a kifaru for sure check out the ula dragon fly….amazing pack. Nice pack GD! Great video as well, love it!
MUlticam black checkpoint be here
Monday. Sick color
Great review on a brand not many check out! Why this one and not the shape charge? It would be cool to see a Kifaru EDC pack showdown with the Antero, Shape Charge and Checkpoint.
I like the shape charge too.. I'll get there
Love the DC shots on the Mall
I’d love to see your review of the pac safe backpacks. I don’t know if they have cut resistance on the sides or where it stops at the zippers. Love your reviews brother!
If this had the separated laptop sleeve of the Mystery Ranch Urban assault it might have been the perfect EDC pack!
Great review Mr. George

I would rather have a Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5, but agree a full black Kifaru version would be sweet!
Nice review, you should check out packs by Warrior assault system,Savotta and Crib Gogh the quality is excellent also👌🏻
Was looking at this bag for an EDC and travel a lot. My biggest concern would if my laptop would fit inside. Just got upgraded to a beast of a 17” HP laptop, plus a few other accessories. Wondering if that would fit inside.
Which do you like the checkpoint or antero 2.0 or another Kifaru bag?
seems like a great bag, but I don't like that the zippers on the vertical pockets close from the top to the bottom...
I want to get one, but not in a camo pattern. Looks like they only have night Multicam on the website rn.
Awesome review!
There are two packs which I would like to see reviewed someday:
1. Camelbak "Sparta" MilSpec,
2. Kelty Redwing Tactical 30 or 44L
Looks likes good pack for one bag travel for short trips....and facts if it came in black it would be fire.
Sure would!!
Great video as always, George! Any plans to check out the new Brown Buffalo Conceal Pack EDC 21L?
GOAT pack
EDC niche! Looks nice, but I just need low 20L range for these NYC streets. #oddjobgang
Good review same name brother.
Hilarious G! Another great review man!
George, id like to review this bag for 2022. Got a couple of hunting trips and business travel in Q1&2. Would you be able to part with it?
I love your intros!
Do you have any thoughts on the Nomadic Research Urban Raid (Black)? If not, check it out. Can't find any reviews on this bag anywhere.
Unfortunately ( close to ) perfection costs. As they say, buy once, cry once.
I had a checkpoint I sold it for the shape charge. I wouldn’t use another bad company
I can't believe they discontinued the Urban Zippy.
Love your videos man
Question there are different checkpoint bags on their website which one do you have
Is this bag waterproof?
Between the Checkpoint and the Switchblade from Eberlestock which one is more comfortable?
Man.. I really can't remember the switchblade that well but if it was my money Kifaru.. 💯
Better than alpha one niner?
I never understood why they didn't offer ranger green for this bag. Can't stand the xpac stuff.
Between this and the antero which is better?
This one by a mile! Better laptop compartment and should straps. Better access to the main compartment. Water bottle pockets are cooler on the Antero though..
How does this compared to the MR 3dap for your use case?
The 3Day is better.. imho.. better organization, capacity and comfort.. I like both tho..
Great review. My go to is still the Vertx Gamut Overland.
The grabhandle at the top ripped the fabric where it connects on mine. The webbing isn’t backed/reinforced by anything. Trash brand these days. Kifaru told me it was a design flaw, yet the still sell them.
Do the zippers lock?
No they don’t.
🎒👍
Great review, George
