Man. I’ve been down the UA-cam backpack rabbit hole and your reviews are too notch. Thought I wanted a UA24, then I thought I might pony up the extra cash for a 26l GR1. Then I found this. I gonna get one on the way ASAP. You showed all of the stuff that I wanted to see.
preordered this like 3 weeks ago in vx42, this video confirms i made the right choice. i was kind of worried it would look to small on me 6’2” 250lbs but i dont think it will after watching.
The 17” laptop test may have just sold done this for me. I really like this pack but the laptop I carry for work is big. Thought this wasn’t an option for me, now I’m almost thinking it’s worth a shot. I know it will fit in an addax but I’m not sure I really need a 25l back for edc
Great video as usual brother. I really like this bag, and I absolutely LOVE black multi cam bags. I’m seriously considering adding this pack to my bag collection 👍🏾
Great videos, George! Any thoughts between this bag and the Brown Buffalo Conceal 21. I would want to use it for EDC and 2-3 day trips with a packing cube, shoes, toiletries. Thanks in advance!
New subscriber (although I’ve been a fan of your reviews for a while). I own a fair amount of Alpha One Niner gear, including the original Evade. My current EDC is the Pathfinder in VX42 which, for me, is about as close to perfect as it gets for daily carry. The one thing missing in the A19’er lineup was a slightly smaller pack. The Whitley should fill that niche very well. I pre-ordered one in VX42 and am excited to give it a run.
Hey George, love your reviews! Random question: do you normally feel comfortable tossing your Sony XM3s into a bag without a case? I carry mine a lot and am looking for ways to save space and weight, but am always scared "something" will happen to them without a case of some sort. BTW right now I carry them folded in the Evergood CAP2, an idea I got from you!
If it had the shock cord on the front like the Evade, i would give it 10 stars and a happy face. I wonder if my 18 ounce Hydro-flax would fit in the pocket? I need my coffee. I have been checking, the Alpha One Niner website. When the Evade 2.0 comes out, I will smash that Buy Now button. You have the best pack reviews out there.
The Evade 2.0 was actually released quite a while ago, and oddly enough, before the Evade 1.5. The Evade 2.0 is/was a larger capacity upgrade from the original Evade and was a very limited run (I think only a couple hundred produced maybe). The current model Evade 1.5 (same size/capacity as the 1.0) is an upgrade from the 1.0 that incorporated a lot of the newer features that the 2.0 had (vs. the 1.0). I've had a 2.0 for a while and love it, although it's (obviously) even heavier than the 1.0 or 1.5 due to it being larger.
Great review, as always. Curious: the specs sound like the bag would fit me (I signed up for the pre-order) but seeing it on your back, it looks pretty darn big. I'm 5'6" with a 17" torso (18.5" is my max). You think it will fit me? Also....because the straps are lower down on the pack (and there are load lifters), does that mean the bag rides higher, allowing someone shorter to wear the pack?...I don't know how to explain... I'm trying to understand what it means when the straps are a little lower down the back panel....Arggghh. Hope I'm making sense. I need a little education, please.
Just found your channel and subscribed! Great job on the reviews! I'm looking for a day pack for 6 to 8hr day hikes. Something comfortable that will hold a couple of water bottles, knife, gun, food and first aid kit
Hi, new subscriber here, I really appreciate your reviews. I am looking for a pack that would be a combination airplane carry-on and a hiking daypack. It seems like this Whitley pack would be a good candidate. Any thoughts? Thank you.
Great review …I am also considering the Kifaru Checkpoint …for the price…this one seems like a home run. Is the Kifaru “significantly” larger ?? Thanks for the great content. Currently utilize the Evergoods CPL24 for EDC.
George, great review! Love the "so it's not a HINDERANCE" line. Not sure if I dig this bag. Alpha One Niner's previous packs have been innovative and modular. I love my EVADE and have the PATHFINDER on my list. This Whitley pack is a lot like a bunch of other packs out there; GORUCK GRs, Vanquest ADDAX-25, several 5.11 packs, BLACK EMBER CITADEL, Aer City Pack, ect. Alpha One Niner's innovation and modularity are not to be found in the Whitley. I know its a well made bag, but if you own one of the aforementioned packs there is no stand out reason to buy the Whitley. Sorry Alpha One Niner I'm going to pass on this pack.
Actually it's a good size.. if you remember the Recycled Firefighter Battalion is one of my favorite bags and it's 22L so 20 isn't too bad for EDC. For travel I like a little bigger so I can put a packing cube and my camera case..

Also, the 17” laptop test was a really nice addition.
I run....RUN, i said----- here for the intro. I stay for the walkthru of 'how does George use this'... love how you do what you do, sir! #salute
George, the intro is amazing!!! They really nailed this bag! Love that you tried the 17" laptop!
this bag looks extremely functional. I think I need to give it a try. love the MCB. reminds me of a simplified Axiom 24. thanks for the content
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this review!!! I preordered a MCB version and now I can’t wait!!! 😁
This is a really nice pack. It's like a Goruck and a Haley Strategic flatpack had a beautiful baby.
Thanks for using the 17" laptop to test fit it really helps me! Great review. Subbed.
George! Crushed the intro….have a great 4th weekend everyone 🤙🏽
Man this bag looks awesome. And that price! Was totally expecting 250 +. Great review George.
Thanks for the review George, I'm looking forward to seeing this bag in the wild!
Nice review George. I’ve been thinking about doing a review on this one myself
Thank you for the great review! I anxiously await for my pre-order to arrive!
Multicam black is my favorite backpack color.

It should look good.. I'm 6' for reference
@@GeorgeDEFINED thanks!
Really good energy you have there ! Amazing bag, amazing man, keep up !
I've got he MCB preordered so I love this review, as usual, George. Thanks!
Awesome George! Also the intro was dope.

Those little Moleskine note books are €15 here in Ireland. We're being screwed left, right & centre in this coultry.
Such a great looking pack. Thanks G!

Excellent job George. Awesome tempo 👍👍

you are the best at this!!! could you do a review of the Vertx Ardennes Holiday?

I would say that the whitley is not really small. It's quite thick (depth) to me while on my back.
Dope Bag…great review as always Dawwgy 🤩👌
George, I'm stuck between two bags you reviewed. The A19 Whitley or the ULA Dragonfly. Which do you like better of the two and why? Thanks!
Very cool. I have really gotten to like hiviz interiors on packs.
I got an a19 like 3 years ago and it still looks brand new it’s crazy … only thing I don’t like is the little zipper
Ugh, I was ready to jump on a PLC 20 till I watched this video. Is the Whitley your choice for edc at 20L? Thanks!

I was able to stretch a 32oz water bottle in but it didn't want to come out.. so 18oz should be fine .

Hi George. At one point you thought the Camelback Urban Assault was your top bag. Do you still feel that way?
Hi George have you ever reviewed a Mavrik B.35? I think it’s by red River maybe…
love your reviews! Do one on Breakwater Supply 26L!
Would you prefer the Whitley or the Vanquest ADDAX-25 for EDC?
George, what are your go to packs when not reviewing? The packs you keep coming back to time and time again? For me it's the Goruck Bullet 15.
The Evade and GR1..
Nice bag but a tad large for me. Keep the dope videos coming
Awesome review.
This bag is like GORuck and Aer teamed up. 👏
Aer travel pack 3 Xtra small😀 I like multicam color option
“You guys will luuuuuv it.” rofl
George keep up the good work! Love watching your videos and reviews of all the EDC gear you do.
This is a Great backpack. Is there a half price coupon ?
Sorry John.. No half price coupon..
I may need this backpack. Let me check it out.
Dope Hat 🔥🔥🔥
George, can you pls do a review on the northface kaban 2.0 please!!
how does it compare against Evergoods CPLin terms of fit and comfort?
Your intros crack me up haha
Preordered in 1050! Thanks bro
Same here, why did you choose that over the VX42? I'm not sure at all
@@NadavArad I don't have any 1050d bags currently. I just got the ULA Dragonfly in vx21 too so I wanted something different
No aquaguard zippers on this one?
George can you please review the timbuk2 X Astro gaming BP35 backpack
Looooooove multicam black
Hi, new subscriber here, I really appreciate your reviews. I am looking for a pack that would be a combination airplane carry-on and a hiking daypack. It seems like this Whitley pack would be a good candidate. Any thoughts? Thank you.
I fucking love your videos.
I like it.
This one vs the kifaru checkpoint???
Depends man.. the designs are very similar.. really depends on the capacity you need.. The checkpoint is a larger pack.. I like both of them..

Is that a second water bottle pocket on the other side?
Yes there are two.. good catch!
we have the same wristwatch ;)
Mil tec & Royal are best too
Does it stand up on its own?
It can. But I don't think it's designed to do so..
@@GeorgeDEFINED thank you! I cannot stick with a pack if it doesnt stand on its own.. drives me nuts!
My evade is dope

@@GeorgeDEFINED yeah thanks George… ive had a 511 Rapid Origin for some while and absolutely loving it mate … great size too.
That’s not enough water
I wouldn’t expect anything less from a bag that price
