30 years L.E. carrying every day. I have been using the Eberstock smaller version for about 6 to 8 months, a Hill People Gear for about 6 months and a Helikon-Tex for about 2 years. at first I only used the "waist bag for running. Then I started using the Eberstock for motorcycling, now they are about my preferred mode of off duty carry. I now have reading glasses going with me every where and they just prove to be a good way of carrying everything that 60 laps around the sun force me to carry now. And, now having been a firm member of team I.D.G.A.F. since turning 50 I will continue this practice. Excellent video. I can't believe I just stumbled onto your channel. But than again I am 60 and don't spend every waking moment on a device, I still like to play with guns, chainsaws, motorcycles and most of all my wife:-)
For those of us who travel a sling bag is a very useful piece of kit. Travel bag goes above the seats on the airline or bus while the slingbag can keep all gear needed handy within reach (phone, headphones/airpods, chargers, cables, ID, whatever). Also keeps it close to body, easily concealed and our pockets empty for the nefarious subway poachers.
About once a year, I think about rockin a fanny pack, so I go look at pics of Hulk Hogan wearing a fanny pack at my current age, then give up on the Fanny Pack idea and start working out more regularly.
I love my Fanny pack. I was anti Fanny pack until I tried it, and 100% love it. I still carry IWB from time to time, but the comfort and versatility of fanny pack is second to none.
I have a Vertx fanny and I really love the built-in holster for my semi-automatic "hole puncher" and a few hole puncher magazines. Totally worth the extra cost over a non-hole puncher-compatible version.
being disabled and in a power wheelchair whenever I go out of the house. I am usually rocking a waist bag. no one gives me or it a 2nd look, they hide my revolver or my compact easy peasy.
There was a time when my EDC paraphernalia filled both front pockets and a hip pocket on my trousers and I wore fishing shirts daily so that I could put the rest of my stuff in the two chest blouson pockets of the shirts. Then I bought a Nutsac Sling Bag to empty out all of those pockets and then some! I picked up a Nutsac Man Bag Damit (MBD) and carried it as a smaller sling pack until a wannabe smartass referred to my new Nutsac as a "nice purse!" The MBD now serves as a valet tray on my dresser and has been replaced with a Nutsac Speed Sling that looks a bit less like a purse. I do use several "fanny packs, though I prefer to refer to them as 'Butt Packs.' The first is a Carry Commission Bum Bag and the second worth mentioning is a Waterfeld Waist Pack. Count me in as a fan of Butt packs! An interesting and very well-made video. Thank you for that!
Hell yeah! I got the Eberlestock a few months back too, I love it. Let someone say I look stupid. It’s way more easy than dicking around my pockets finding things.
Great video my friend. I give you kudos for tackling this "sensitive" yet, practical issue. I've battled with this as well, however, using the "right" crossbody is effective and not as "geeky" as the "fanny/waist" pack. I think either config is just fine and I sue both depending on the situation; I could simply care less what others think of me. What I find funny is most videos on "EDC" I see the reviewer stuffing all sorts of shiz in his ALL pockets including the cargo pockets......I have NO idea how someone could love the feeling of this or being loaded down....I can barely stand to have a minimal wallet in my pocket, EDC/clip-in pocket knife, chapstick, very small Fisher space pen, and a watch on. Hell, others (UA-camrs/reviewers) will bloody stuff a full size loaded out wallet, iPhone PLUS, set car keys with all sorts of tools on it, Leatherman, chapstick, bit kit, clip-in flashlight, Airpods, notepad/pen, paracord, sunglasses, pen, another clip-in pocket knife, Bic lighter mini first aid kit, CCW with 2 extra mags, fixed blade on their belt, bandana, possible extra mag outside their CCW config, etc., etc., etc., WTF? I think you get my drift as so many UA-camrs do this very thing; it's insanity IMHO. Just get a damn waist or crossbody bag to carry all that shiz. But hey, to each their own if that config floats their boat. Cheers my friend.
YES! Fanny pack GANG! I have a vertx long walks fanny pack. I keep a TQ on the left side molle and a Kizer+Maverick Customs harpoon on the right molle. Both are concealed by a tee shirt. I keep my wallet, lockpick set, and a practice lock in the back compartment. Glock 19+ streamlight tlr-1hl, a custom IFAK, and spare mags in the main compartment. Front pocket alternates between diapers and wipes, a multitool, or a headlamp and dog training treats.

This is the first time finding your channel; I literally laughed out loud a few times. Whole heartedly agree with your hot takes; been carrying a BumBag as my EDC for a while, tucking it in my backpack when I need to carry more. Definitely intrigued by that vertex bag with the chest strap attachment!
My Eberlestock fanny pack is awesome. One advice I would give is to get the large one unless you plan on carrying one of the tiny microcompacts. My PDP compact doesn’t fit easily in the regular size one, but it fits great in the large.
2 minutes in and already agree. I personally have carried Fanny packs and crossbodies. Currently I’m carrying the chrome industries mini cadet. But they’re great. Carry your gun, knife, wallet keys whatever and be comfy rather then a pocket full of stuff. And if you do get down somewhere and feel like just carrying your keys then cool throw them in your pocket but. Days at the park or hikes whatever. They’re the way to go.
I've been wearing one for 2 years now. There is some Freedom there when you truly don't care what people think about you! Honestly, the great majority of people aren't paying attention and don't even notice it. Great for carrying in the heat, when you really don't want a gun crammed in your shorts all day. My $.02
I couldn't agree more. Try a sling style pack that can double as a fanny pack. It really is a comfortable way to wear a small pack when a situation calls for it
Rock my Eberlestock standard all the time! Pew pew, knife, light, Snakestaff TQ, extra mag, and blowout kit with chest seals. Have an XL setup the same way for a larger pew pew. Great video!
Make sure to stow your tourniquet the right way! Put the grey time strap to the side. When shit hits the fan you will lose the ability to do micro adjustments with your fingers and lose time and blood. Your TQ will be useless the moment you need it. Preparation and training is a must with these things. Greetings from Germany 🤘
I was anti-fanny pack until 2020 when we started trailer camping because the world lost their minds with covid, and that was the only thing to do. I found that a fanny pack for all the keys, flashlights, lighters, etc, etc, was awesome. I could still carry an appendix and / or stow my G19 in the pack. It really made everything better. I'm a fan.
to be honest man you are so right. my name is andrew and i have been watching you for years and i fricken love fanny pack in the summer. you are deffinetly not crazy for doing this
Yes! I can wear my murse now cause Jeremy said I could, but then he said I can't wear it cross body.....sad face I highly recommend the ones from Alpaka
How wearing one cross body is somehow less “cool” is confusing to me to say the least. I’m a bandolier kinda dude and wear mine cross body. Great video, Jeremy and I could t agree more with the functionality of these bags. 👌🏼
@@chrisarevalo9890 totally agree but I see where his jokes are rooted as it was those types of guys that started using them the most, the Starbucks bros kinda guys.....lol
Ended up turning the Vertx waist pack into an IFAK with some extra bandaids, medicine, etc. and it lives in the truck now while the bando bag is for the spicier stuff.
Finally some renewed love for the fanny pack! I'm one of those guys who find carrying a handgun IWB uncomfortable. I know I'm in the minority but it's my choice. I discovered Eberlestock Bando bags a while back and after a little searching, found the perfect velcro backed kydex holster for my Ruger LCP MAX from 945 industries. They also make a fantastic "tactical waist pack" but I already had the Bando bag. I had been carrying the LCP MAX in a Vedder Pocket Locker and still do from time to time, depending on the dress code of the day. The Bando holds all of my other EDC stuff and as you pointed out, is way more practical than pockets full of crap. If you or your subscribers are looking for a velcro backed holster that works in any of these fanny packs, take a look at what 945 industries has to offer. They make a variety of them to fit even larger handguns. I find the kydex more secure than the Vertex velcro wraps that create a sleeve for retention. The Bando bag belt/strap is far superior to the Vertex for the reason you stated. JSYK, the Bando bag is 39.00 on their site and they also offer military and first responder discounts. As for drawing a weapon from a waist pack compared to an IWB... it takes a little practice but it's pretty similar. Thanks for the great review!
Hey Jeremy! Always makes my day to see your videos pop up in my notifications. I absolutely love your style of content and you're very good at it. Eager to see more from you and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
LOL back in my UC days and working vice I always had a fanny pack. I knew it would come full circle before I retired. I started in 1990 and wore them for at least 10 years.
I run a eberlestock xl bando and a vertex socp . I work at a school and i carry first aid, meds, writing tools and other things without issue. Its great.
First time watching your videos… LOVE the one line humor!!! I had the eberlestock reg and liked it ok. It was just a tad small but the main thing I didn’t like was no “rapid access tab” or even a double zipper on the secondary pocket so you could offset your zippers to keep the main ccw zippers clear. I found the Helicon Tex I think that checks those boxes and fits my G45 with an optic and spare mag. Thanks for sharing!!!
I agree with all that you said, a fanny pack is the perfect solution to most all your EDC needs, - if you take style out of the equation. The first time I wore mine, my wife made the comment that it was like a minivan, a nearly perfect mode of transportation for most people, but once again, - only if you take style out of the equation.
I love the video Jeremy! I agree with you here and I wear my vertx as a cross-body bag all the time. You can carry the pew pew, as well as first aid. It’s the most streamline way to protect your family. The macho guy haters are prob the same guys who can’t do a sit-up
I agree. I wear bird dog shorts in the summer. You can't really carry a phone in those with out them sagging. I use a sling or a Fjallraven fanny pack.
I used to be anti-fanny pack, but I’ve got to admit-they’re a game-changer when traveling. Perfect for tossing all your essentials in at airport security, and you’ve got everything within arm’s reach on the flight without needing to get up. Convenience wins!
A bum bag! Jesus wept! I've never felt so conflicted in my life 😂 I think I still have one from 1991, along with an aquamarine and neon lime shell-suit
I’ve been wearing an Eberlestock Bando for 6 months now. I have the smaller size one. It’s a game changer and I won’t go back. I have been keeping mine on while driving. I find that the lap belt part of the seatbelt fits right underneath. I was in my head about it for the first few days until I noticed all the other people wearing them lol now it’s almost like you’re not cool if you don’t have one. I’m in Canada so no pew pew in the rear compartment. If I move back to the US I will surely carry one in there though. But it’s an admin compartment at the moment. I’ll get some tactigami for it soon
I live a half hour from Eberlestock. Good people over there. I use the Bando and their new Fade Sling bag every week to carry med and diabetic supplies for my wife and son. Good quality stuff.
Siers, I myself don't want to depend on a zipper to draw my weapon. Zippers tend to snag and break. Would much rather draw from a holster. You do you brother. Thanks
I need that t-shirt "Team 0-Fu-c--" I hesitate to rock one of these but have when driving and not wanting to keep everything in my pockets or when wearing sweatpants that can't hold my EDC.
I’m not a fanny pack kind of person but I am a bag guy. I use cross body bags. Alpaca or Chrome bags are my go to. But I also have a couple Coach bags I like to use. I find cross body bags easier to access and honestly more fashionable. But no disrespect to dudes rocking the Fanny pack. They are also super functional.
I got the Bando Bag a couple years ago. This was before it had the tourniquet holder sewn in the top. It’s a great bag for carrying stuff when I’m in gym shorts, but I wish it was just a hair taller. My G43x (primary EDC) with Holosun 507k fits, but just barely. If I had to draw my gun quickly, it gets hung up on the top of the optic. I usually just run my G27 in it for quick trips. But, not gonna lie, I do feel slightly self-conscious when I wear it. Probably because my wife & son make fun of me 😂😂
I have personally gone through all the phases from crossbody pouch, kitty pack, and got stuck in the old backpack where I now keep my initial crossbody pouch and still carry a backpack under 15Lt capacity. Jeremy if you happen to see this, more EDC and truck content won’t hurt your audience. Even if Taylor uses said videos to mock you later
There’s a lot of utility to these but all I can think is Jeremy trying to make the fannypus pack manly 😂😂😂 Thanks for the laughs! Nice to see you making a video. Great episode on Cigars Daily Live btw👍🏽
Back in '95 when I started my career in Federal Law Enforcement "we all" carried fanny packs for our "Pew Pews"....And to this day I still carry one but wear it as a shoulder sling back....lol...to try to be trendy....lol...Your videos are awesome and subscribed!

I used to be anti-fanny pack, but I’ve got to admit-they’re a game-changer when traveling. Perfect for tossing all your essentials in at airport security, and you’ve got everything within arm’s reach on the flight without needing to get up. Convenience wins!
The sling bag is the best compromise between the fanny and backpack.
It wasn't mentioned here, but I've been using Fieldcraft's fanny pack for a while now and still really like it. All of these seem like great packs.
Nice comeback for the waist carry😉
A bum bag! Jesus wept! I've never felt so conflicted in my life 😂 I think I still have one from 1991, along with an aquamarine and neon lime shell-suit
🤣
Always enjoy your videos. You make something about everything.
Jeremy, I have always been with you on the fanny pack idea!
Ok dude I’m sold. No more giving you shit on the live. 😂. You do great videos!
I love a Fanny pack. I’m a avid mountain biker it just makes sense.
I have the bando xl and it fits my Glock 19x and keys and wallet. Love it.
Thank you for the video! I have been looking into both companies for an EDC waist bag. Great information!
I have one of those sling shoulder bags instead. It’s like a fanny pack, but on your shoulder.
I'll take 3 beaver bags please....thank you
Prepacking fanny packs and skin care sponsor is where you’ve ended up at after weeks of not hearing from you. Funny lol
Hmm 🤔 good ideas here and very well thought out however my lack of AARP card is saying I’m not old enough yet 😂😂 love the vids brother keep em coming
I’ve worn em since I was a kid always had some kit on me and I have always preferred to call mine a nut ruck
I’m just glad to see you did a new video!!!😂
I just ordered a vertx Urban ghost sling bag. Might have to look at the other bags now
Beaver Bag is my new favorite term
I got the Bando Bag a couple years ago. This was before it had the tourniquet holder sewn in the top. It’s a great bag for carrying stuff when I’m in gym shorts, but I wish it was just a hair taller. My G43x (primary EDC) with Holosun 507k fits, but just barely. If I had to draw my gun quickly, it gets hung up on the top of the optic. I usually just run my G27 in it for quick trips.
But, not gonna lie, I do feel slightly self-conscious when I wear it. Probably because my wife & son make fun of me 😂😂
Missed your videos man! Welcome back 💪
I have personally gone through all the phases from crossbody pouch, kitty pack, and got stuck in the old backpack where I now keep my initial crossbody pouch and still carry a backpack under 15Lt capacity.
Jeremy if you happen to see this, more EDC and truck content won’t hurt your audience. Even if Taylor uses said videos to mock you later
There’s a lot of utility to these but all I can think is Jeremy trying to make the fannypus pack manly 😂😂😂
Thanks for the laughs! Nice to see you making a video. Great episode on Cigars Daily Live btw👍🏽
the point is not what you pack in it, it is how you carry it m8:) any suggestion for that?
Bro I was just looking at your channel last night and was wondering when you were gonna post a new vid!! Glad you did!
Never been a fan of over stuffed pockets for my EDC prefer going with a sling rather than the “beaver bag” 😂
I’m going to call my Fanny pack a Beaver Bag from now on…. Wife, grab me my Beaver Bag! Sounds great.
Back in '95 when I started my career in Federal Law Enforcement "we all" carried fanny packs for our "Pew Pews"....And to this day I still carry one but wear it as a shoulder sling back....lol...to try to be trendy....lol...Your videos are awesome and subscribed!
Great video, I carry the Vertx S.O.C.P 👍🏽
You had me at Beaver bag, bro😊
In Australia they are called "Bum Bags".
I got two helikon-tex waist packs earlier this year and I swear by them.
ps: yes fanny means something different in the UK and Australia lol
In The UK it used to be bum bag as above but yes, fanny pack haha. Means the same
Cross body aint a terrible idea, round the waste is bold and only paired with white Reeboks
I love my holster sling bag!
using a fanny pack as a tactical man purse... not me... LOL
How about a small sling bag?
@@timmartin4952 I'll carry a quiver for arrows... otherwise smart placement of my gear, a ruck or single sling backpack or vest, even a tactical belt.
