Excellent video! Oldie but goodie! HPG is really the only company I trust with packs, and I love their kit bags to extend their packs. The fact that any pack and be a pocket(attachment) for any other pack is amazing! I currently rock the Tarahumara, Umlindi, and Junction (depending what the trip is like) then I rock the original kit bag filled with all the stuff I want on my person.
Notifications are on and I'm a subscriber. First saw Hill People Gear in their store in Grand Junction, Colorado.Wow, it was a toy store for an outdoor gear geek like me, and the quality of all the products I looked at was top of the line. Very impressive.
My notifications for yall's been on since day 1 of being subbed. Love your company and all that you bring to the community. It's kinda refreshing to see the manufacturer's own channel talk about other company's gears and how it holds up. Stay safe & keep rocking!
Love my Osprey and HPG chest rig.... Thanks for the reminder on running slick, too many packs these days with molle panels and D-rings all over the place, people feel like they have to hang crap from them. Murphy says that anything hanging off a pack like a Christmas tree decoration can and will get snagged !
Notifications are on. Was surprised to see you guys use Osprey packs for actual SAR operations. Didn't think they would stand up to that kind of heavy use. With Kifaru and Hill People Gear you of course never have to worry.
We’ve used Osprey in caves/confined space and numerous SAR training days and actual missions. The Stratus packs have held up well. My (Shane’s) Exos is showing some wear as you might expect bc it is a lighter weight pack.
Yes ! Yes! Yes! I wait so long for an new video from you guys ! You need to make more youtube videos please! I love it. Everything is authentic and professional. I am an esee user, have many of your knives and love every single one ! After covid i will come to you guys and complete the idaho bushcraft wokshop 😀 best regards from south germany and many thanks for your work!!!
@@sinkswim1798 we've never done any single classes, it's always been groups....we do have a growing schedule of classes for 2021 at Randallsadventure.com
Turned on notifications. Would like to see what you guys carry as far as first aid. As a Combat medic, Firefighter, and taking the Ditch Medicine (shout out to the great Huge Coffee) course a few years ago, I tend to carry at least one Rat Tq (for children) and one Cat Tq (for adults) and a few specialty items like an occlusive dressing and a few meds. The rest tends to be duck tape, cordage, and cotton material that comes from the 10c kit that is in every pack that I have because I would be improvising. Great video.
we are in the same boat....I Know a LOT of people disparage the RAT but it works for me on dogs and small kids...CATs are a known good. SAM Splint is another regular piece of gear as well.
@@RandallsAdventureESEE I agree with a SAM. I carry a few in my Aid Bag for the Guard but as far as on a trek I would be looking to use a branch in conjunction with my large cotton bandanna.
I like the suspensions on backpacking-style packs, but the vibrant colors and sometimes really thin fabrics make me stick with 500-1000D packs that ride flat against your back (which are often too hot here in Arkansas).
I agree with the Osprey pack recommendation " I have an Osprey day pack and I have worn out a Ather 60. The last thing I did before retiring from being the director of an outdoor program for 32 years, was order 15 Osprey Volt packs for the program. I am a big Osprey fan!
Turned on notifications!! Thank you for another interesting video, as an volunteer rescuer myself I prefer too having a similar set up with yours. One small bag with some basic rigging stuff and the big one with all the technical gear.
Notifications are on, so I don't miss any of the great videos you guys put out. Loving this series. I've got the HPG Tarahumara and Decker system, along with a HRKB, couple of Prairie Belts, and various pouches and kit. Been really digging their V2 Umlindi and it's next on my list. Buy once, cry once, expect that I keep buying more and more. Kind of like with ESEE knives, in that way.
Finally broke down and ordered one of the Hill People Heavy Recon Kit Bags. We'll see how that goes before I step up to the painful purchase of that nice pack :P
I consider the purchase of good gear that will be used as an investment. We spend a lot of time outside in ALL kinds of environments and conditions. Anything that increase our efficiency, safety, and comfort within reason is a sound investment.
TBH it changes quite a bit depending on class or the mission we are on. but there are some usual suspects...hit me up if you have any direct questions about gear.
I have a Hill People Gear Tarahumara and several of their accessories, it is great stuff! I hope to get an Umlindi eventually. My Tara serves me well for short day hikes.
Mister Patrick Rollins just received your PR4 today and wow what an excellent and beautiful knife. Love it! The quality bij Esee is really really high and i am blown away. My first Esee knife but sure not the last! Loved the unboxing and the overall quality and packaging etc. Your quality standard is high thats for sure. Greetings from a new fan of the Netherlands 🇳🇱 Ps: the knife was Razor sharp out of the box and i mean RAZOR sharp. 👍🏼
@@RandallsAdventureESEE Amazing knife and really beautiful sheath also love them both. I think more people i know are going to be customers 😂👍🏼 thanks! Money well spend.
Thanks for the video and Info. Hitting the sweet spot in this size of pack is tricky. We have been rolling with the Rei flash 55 for camping and hiking with a flash 18 rolled up on the outside for day hikes. I also wear the Hill People Gear heavy recon chest rig. If I had it to do again, I’d go with the sar or original kit due to heat from the the full Velcro back pocket. Their stuff is great and I’m sure I will wind up with the Umlindi for a go bag. Hope to see you guys again soon. As always, I’m subscribed and the notifications are on. All the best. Take care.
