Used this on my oldest daughter! She has enough hair for ten people...i used 4 or 5 different sections pulled them forward, tied it up and snipped it. Worked like a charm.

Back in my 20's had a friend who was taking cosmetology. She would cut my hair in a long gypsy shag. Layers looked just like feathers going down. Sam you are such a very talented person I really hate to somebody cut my hair because I tried several places to be not satisfied with the results . I cut my hair by myself and it is in some cases very hard to a achieve what I need , but some techniques work better than the others in taking into consideration the angel of my hand , anyway my question here for this video is what happened to those 2 sections in the very bottom you already taken from the nap ??

If only I knew this way of cutting layering... I let my classmate take over "teaching" me how to cut this client's beautiful long locks and then he completely butchered it because he told the client he would be done in 10 minutes. His techniques were so half-assed and it was only lucky that her hair was wavy, otherwise the poor woman would have obvious long and short lengths at the back. He then had the audacity to tell me that the technique (I learned from the basic, concrete way) I was doing was time consuming and won't turn out right "for her texture of hair".
I could already see him trying to support his mess-up with bullshit lies. I'm never letting him take my clients away from me. Thank god her hair was godlike because she managed to pull it off after that massacre.

When you cut the front, it looks like you are cutting the perimeter of the sides so as to make this a mullet. Please explain.
+roxie1481 It can become a mullet if you aren't careful. You just have to be sure not to cut the hair too short.

why is every hairdresses idea of long hair not really long at all. i think long hair i go to waist length or more. i have waist length hair and there are no styles or tutorials out there for "real" long hair
That's what I'm looking for too. My oldest daughter refuses to go to the salon after a bad experience. Her hair is naturally curly, super thick, and long enough she can sit on it. It's way too much hair to deal with.
