Me and a buddy bought H15s as soon as they were released, I got the 1st orange one in Scotland and he got the 1st Grey. Love the bike, it’s a lot more capable than the travel and geo would suggest.
Unfortunately between the 2 of us we’ve had many major issues.
    1. My main battery failed after 5 weeks.
    2. His charger was doing what you said in video.
    3. My range extender failed.
    4. His frame was twisted (not sure if from factory)
    5. My Dropper has now failed.
Orbeas warranty has been great so far and replaced everything in a timely manner.

I bought the H15 and have no regrets. This review is spot on! No reason to get the Carbon and wow how impressed with Orbea! I never knew much about them until this bike. I had a knee injury and with this bike I was able to stay active and speed up the recovery of my knee. I'll take Physical Therapy over the knife any day! Kudos to Orbea for such a great machine!

Got my H15 in July. It's a blast and I absolutely love it. ❤️
But I had to change the following things before my first ride:
    * put 4P XT Brakes on it (why the heck do they sell it with 2 piston breaks, makes absolutely no sense 😄)
    * new tires (Assegai & DHF) + tubeless
    * 203mm rotors
It's my dream bike and I ride it as much as somehow possible.
I still have the Occam, but the Rise brought me to the next level due the amount of trail hours I spent on this bike.

@@EMTBReview Actually I tried the stock 2P Shimano brakes (because the delivery of my XT brakes took a bit longer) and I was quite surprised. With the 203mm rotors they are better then expected.
But the difference to the 4P XT was still a big step when it comes to brake performance, especially when going down more then 500m (1600f) in depth.

First time I've seen an H15 with a factory 36 fork and a marzocchi shock. Great video BTW!

I got the H10, because they (Orbea) delivered them first. I changed the fork, rearshock and breaks at the factory. Really love this bike!! I can bike with my son (11) in the off stand. No probs. I can bike with my analoge friends in eco and trail. And with my E friends in trail and boost. And alone in whatever i want hahaha. The bike fore the money.

Great video, I share your enthusiasm about the Rise H 15. Amazing bike. I now have 160Mm cranks which are perfect, no more pedals strikes ! Playing with the App makes a great difference between all different levels of assistance from the motor. That 540 watts battery allows me to ride as much as I want and more. Verry happy.

Thank you. Good review. No faults apart from motor bolts coming undone and causing creaking. H30 here, it works well enough for me but the wheel uphubs give play back and forth in the disc location which is normal for these hubs. Came with a display. Shock is really supple but the bomber z2 fork not so much, although again it’s good enough for me. Power button location is very annoying esp if you set off and it’s switched itself off. Not noticed the charging issue tbh. 80% bar seems to last the same as the rest. Great bike. H30 is perfectly capable but the better components are defo worth the money. Oh, the dropper sticks. It’s not fox Kashmia.

I have the H15 (upgraded with both suspensions and brakes)! It's a great bike, but the kinematics tends to crank after about 100k so it needs to be cleaned deeply quite often...I had some other issues with the bike that I would rather not discuss openly here on the channel but the news is, I have a bike to ride!!! Unfortunately, winter has settled and it's fat bike season now ! If you would like to know what happened, I'll tell you privately!! Cheers!

Enjoyed your video. I have recently purchased the H15 in 🍊 as well. Loving it. Your explanation of sweet spot is on point and the same reason I went for the H15. Bigger fork and display over the H10 for less 💰. Components wear so better upgrades can come later 😉 Happy riding all 🤟

Thanks for the real world review. I have a 2022 Rise H30, 100 miles, and zero issues. Battery experts worldwide have different charging theories, and all seem to work. Orbea like all bike makers is losing out on Tesla-like rider data, all refuse to chime in on forums, release a bulletin. Having done 2500 miles on a 2021 full fat Giant Trance X e 29er 3 as my 'e bike trainer' I can vouch for higher maintenance, that is the cost of wild freedom. I was doing 24 miles at ski resorts in Utah, straight up 8 miles to 9,500', wild DH rides on a 54lb monster, 24 miles later, 39% battery left. Waited two years for the Rise Hydro series, and it's a well thought fun bike. True the cockpit runs small. I set 'the settings' to all high in 3 modes, and Trail is fine for climbing most moderate trails. The rolling weight is so much less, it's a joy to flick it around. The local Contender bike shop in SLC, Utah has ordered dozens of Orbea's, and I lucked out as Orbea upgraded the brakes, rotor, and forks for the H30 for just $400 more. So Orbea is listening to rider complaints in some cases.

yes, 80% keeps your battery healthy - you never want to keep a lithium battery at 100% (nor at 0%). but to do this without informing the customer is weird and a huge oversight.
as for timing the charge another option is to use a Kill-a-Watt meter. this will show how many watts the charger is pulling. from 0-80% it pulls ~180watts. so once it starts tapering watts you know it's close to full. the ideal setup would be a timer and a Kill-a-Watt. the target storage charge is around 1/2 to 2/3 full. so, ideally, from empty set timer for only two hours (~360w/hr) then charge the rest before your next ride.
[grey H15; 300 miles so far; no issues other than assist cutting off early at 18mph - looking to derestrict]

Great review - very helpful. Seems like you ride many different ebikes. I have a line on a cube stereo hybrid 140 sl for $5400. Seems like a good value. I also have a line on an orbea rise h20 for 5800 which also seems like a good deal. I know they are very different bikes. Which would you choose?

Great video, I was looking at the levo sl, the new trek exe and the H15. You mention with this it helps you with power more quickly than other brands which is what I will need. Going flat out around trails and then having to bike back to the van with nothing left in the legs is my problem. I need that bit extra.
It appeals to me a bit more as well with the 60nm over the trek 50nm and sl 35nm. Is there much difference personally?
Also the battery size is a lot more and I've watched videos of people going out on a sl with extender and it only just keeps up with the rise without an extender.
If you could buy 1 sl bike under 7k(that's my budget) would it be the H15 or something I haven't mentioned. Or wait for the new 2023 releases?
    Thanks
Great channel and also subbed 👍🏻

@@EMTBReview a big thanks for the reply. You've kind of answered all my questions and doubts. It is that immediate response with the torque that I wanted from a bike and it sounds like the orbea is the one.
Just one other question is do you think they will be releasing a 2023 model of the hydro(H30,15,10) models in the near future?
      Regards Daniel 👍🏻🚴‍♂️💨

    Tire pressure recommendations?
I should be getting my Rise H20 by the end of June. It's got 2.5" DHF /2.4" DHR tires. I weight 175#. I've been running 23psi on my Santa Cruz Tallboy.
    Thanks.

    • @EMTBReview
      @EMTBReview  Рік тому

For ebike, it's good to be tick higher since you'll descend steeper stuff and the bike weighs a little more. Rear can use more PSI too since that's where a lot of your weight is. Soooo, start with 26 psi rear and 24 psi front and adjust from there.
