It would be cool to film the transmission getting built. Mine will go into safety also when I’m hard on the throttle from a dead stop. Normal driving it’s perfect smooth shifting.
Imagine if he had a 7.3L Godzilla that he turboed 🤣🤣🤣
@@awesomeness369 lol “godzilla”
🤦🏻♂️ it’s a work truck motor
@@hunterm4188 sure it is 🤣🤣🤣
@@hunterm4188 so is a 6.0 ls and they can be very fast 🤷🏻♂️
Try unplugging the front driver side abs sensor. Will not go into safety mode
Are you planning on welding the crank gear for the powerstroke? I'm doing a compound turbo setup, and I'm worried about spinning a gear. I don't know how often it happens for these trucks
Gotta get my transmission beefed up. I’m curious to see what you do. I’m currently looking at options.
you need to have your turbo already spooled when you go to launch. and yes you can launch on the highway. break boost if you have too and keep it in a low gear with a manual shift
How do you brake boost?
@@anthonygibson9875hit the brakes while hitting the gas to have turbo already spooled up. no lag in the turbo
Just had a suncoast cat 4 put in my platinum 😎 I can't wait for the 500mile break in to be finished 😎
What in the hoonigan this vs that tarnation is going on here lmao 🤣 good vid bud
Just have you a transmission built to handle it man that’s drop in the bucket for you man
You should put a built transmission then try again, my 3 and 4 does the same thing. I have a 2017 F350 Platinum with 8 ft bed and black with 1 bad tpms censor right rear
I know you tuned it but would turning on sportmode for the superduty have helped with shift points with the trans?
I was thinking the same thing. Idk why he would bother manually shifting it. thats just asking for things to break.
Wonder if overdrive clutch pack is to blame... they always seem to go on 6R140s and when they aren't blown, the clutch pack has more end play than spec calls for.
Probably one of the best videos you guys have made, don’t stop here! Oh and the platinum won 🏆
Great video of powerstroke capabilities! I heard a podcast from Mr Primm(RIP) of midwest diesel saying he had 6r140’s come in still driving with no clutch material left. Now that’s crazy. SPE still gonna build transmissions???
My 6r140 went in with no reverse and neutral being a forward gear and was capable of driving as long as I didn't have to back up
“no weight reduction, got car seat in the back…” 😂
Mine does the same thing. It won’t restart for a few minute. It’s a trans temp sensor. Let it cool and it’ll start right back.
Please film the trans rebuild! Awesome vidja bois!!
The 6r140 tends to have issues with the valve body. If you catch it early you can save your transmission. Mine ended up torching 4th so I'm having to have it rebuilt. When I have to get into it and it drops from 6th to 4th it will stall and I have to lift for 4th to engage.
The 3-4 flare is what kills them with lockup. *unless you run a 2nd gear lock wot tune* A vb fixed mine *sorta* but I also turned mine down from the hot boy to stock with a 64.5 from borg. Living around 700 like he is, is not only trans territory but rod territory. Ps are way too expensive to make 700-900 reliable
Yeah that happened to my 13 f150 I have to drive in manual and make sure I half my power before I shift. I’ve stalled a couple times in the middle of the road and it’s sucks. Rly sucked the first time when I had no idea what was wrong.
I’m having a hard shift from 3-4 on my 12 f150 what’s this called a flare ? And would a tune help me out it’s getting worse and worse
In for the trans rebuild !
8:06 me at the movies buying popcorn
@8:56 why this part made me laugh so hard lmao, this is a classic clip yo, wassup with that cluster broooo
What where you using for looking at codes?
What device were you using to clear codes?
I wanna see a race but with a good transmission
The “Allison” 10L1000 used in every Heavy Duty GM truck is actually an evolution of the 6R140 from Ford/ZF, used in the previous generation of Super Duty. The Allison 10L1000 is a actually near mirror of the Ford 10R140, with a few proprietary differences to apply to Allison's engineering and currently held patents. Transmission holding 1000trq stock doesn’t seem bad to me. People flooring it driving it like it weighs 3000lbs they’re not sports cars. Stupid to think any stock transmission is going to hold that power especially dodge transmission.
what you do for the bullet proof mod?
When I bought my 2015 f250 6.7 new I instantly deleted it and tuned it with sct on Cooper custom tunes. 8” lift 37s ..Blew my trans at like 50k and again at like 90-100k Kilometers also shredded a front and rear driveshaft from boosted 4wd launches lol now I have another 2015 and i baby it . ( the things you learn lol )
Hmm “this vs that” format nice 👍🏻 😂
Have a ‘19, 6” LA on 38s, deleted. My truck hated 2nd to 3rd, thought my trans were toast until I swapped to 4:88s. No issue anymore.
Should have did a 60 roll
What app is that? For the check Engine light
The essentially stock line got me. Same brother, same.
Did you try shifting the 250 manually
Fun videos to watch but in reality anytime you add power mods your bound to run into problems eventually
Are you using tow haul mode or manual shifting? If not the torque converter probably isn't locking and that would burn up the transmission...
Friggen goof.
My 19 psd shutdown on my before on the highway I got the trouble codes of lost connection to ecu and pcm
I have a 2019 f250 CCSB fx4 platinum. I too have a 3rd-4th gear upshift problem. Pretty sad to me how the Achilles heel of the 17-196.7L in my eyes is the transmission. Tuned my truck at 700 miles, 66k miles of romping the throttle later the atf looks good and all my other shifts feel just like the day I drove her off the lot but god damn that 3-4 shift just feel like I’m getting rear ended by a Peterbilt. Other than that no complaints from mine might just get a sun coast when she gives out. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.
Start with a complete trans fluid flush and filter
@@TopCorey i was also gonna look into getting a better quality valve body seems to be the culprit behind the sloppy shifting
Proven tunes are the only ones that really have the 6R140 trans tuning figured out. PPEI, Chaos, SPE, GDP, etc all suck in comparison and that’s with many experience in all of them after the proper KAM reset and trans relearn procedure
@@taylor3915 Why do you think hat Proven has it figured out over say PPEI or SPE? I am just curious, because I currently have a SOTF tune from PPEI. But I am always on the lookout for a better option or slight advantage over the other.
The Ford 10 speeds have problems period.
Is that transmission doing that just because of the tunes and power?
Monster Trans man I put one in mine love it
I understand the desire to match horsepower but with the amount of torque the diesel puts out would it be enough to beat the TRX at a lower level, ie 600-650 horsepower?
horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you. lol
TRX needs a Hellion twin turbo kit 😁😁👍👍
Man I really wanna see the race done again but still a good run I think we all understand how much power that plati has so it can have some problems
what app was that when you cleared the code
You need a new pressure regulator!
thumbnail 100% worked. good job boys
This vs That!
Got me too
With the trans upgrades cant wate to see a rematch
Is that the same 6 speed I have in my 19?
Let’s get this going again!
Warren diesel shop for the trans. Andy is awesome up there and would take great care of you!!
The 10 speed in my F-150 slips 3-4 when it’s cold. But after it’s warm it’s a non issue.
My 2019 did that from 6k miles. Pulled thousands of miles with that little eco boost and it pulled amazing. But my 10 speed had that slip from 3-4 or 3-5 when it was cold. I just continued to drive it and it was never an issue
might be time for a new trans in the powerstroke
I cant wait to race one of them trx's with my stock 6.4l. emissions delete only.
You get walked
Will see about that
6.4L FTW That is until the head gaskets blow, the turbo calves, the fuel pump explodes and sends shrapnel into the injectors, the sand cast block ruins the cooling system and the powder steel pistons melt down. As a bonus the 6.4L will runaway after the race is over from excessive fuel leaking past the rings into the oil pan.
Nice video on how to toast a transmission lmao yes the truck will shut off & go in limp mode basically lock you out.
I wonder how much faster it would be with the 10 speed
In powerstrokes the 1st 3 gears are super slow but the thing just PULLS once it gets to 4th and 5th
Wish we could see a race from a dead stop too to see which can get it going faster
Soon for sure
the diesel would get the dig it has way more torque
@chick3nwings 3 how many transmissions and hemis would it take tho
Sooooo, when are you going to do a tug-of-war?
Awesome trucks
Will you rebuild the trans soon?
Yeah buddy, tearing it out soon!
@@TopCorey sweet can’t wait to see run with a good trans.
Hopefully you will race the TRX again
You gotsta get that trans built my man...been limping it long enough. You haven't even begun to feel the capability of that thing until you get that trans to hold. Done put slow as shit 37's on it. Keep it on stocks. Or go to street treads. That truck deserves to be a highway roller
My thoughts exactly. That would be the finishing touch to make a truly fun truck. I’ve got my truck set up similar to his and it’s terrifying off the line. Will burn 13.5 wides off on the 2-3 shift and smoke them through 5th. I may even make less power than him. It hasn’t been to the dyno.

That f250 is almost 10,000lbs and the trx is just over 6000lbs. 3500-4000lbs difference is huge 😂
I don’t know where you got 10,000 from but the super duties only weigh up to 6700 pounds
@@fpvdominator9563 10k is wrong. The gvwr is 10k I believe but the truck does not weigh that empty. You are also wrong though. Each truck is different but that truck weight easily over 7k. My 18 f350 crew cab short bed not even a loaded truck. Just an xl with stx package and a few other things like 5th wheel prep, bed liner, 360 cameras, 4x4, diesel.... and full of fuel and def with me in it I am just under 8k on a scale.
That f350s torque pulls through big time.

Love all the comments about trying to build it to beat it. Just buy the trx. I have 0 regrets and it’s cheaper to buy it with the warranty instead of voiding the one on the other and having tuner issues
At the end of the day, you have a ram, there's nothing special about that truck except the engine, which in a a couple years you'll be saying bye bye to them for good because there getting rid of these beautiful engines for electric junk.

@@ZACH_95_ nothing special about a ram? Fords have looked same for a decade, same old trash interior and mid exterior 💀

Just by an 3.5 ecoboost, put $5000 into it and beat the trx in everything while saving $50,000
High power does mean less engine life?
It’s a ford brand, what did you spect?
That's why you don't shift. Just step on it it's an AUTOMATIC!
That's the biggest difference. You can make a thousand passes on the trx zero issues. Modified f250 might be quicker on the top end but it will break down more often.
He literally said his trans was already out the door
Tbh I almost thought this was this vs that
I had a 600 whp 24 valve Cummins that put down 1200 lb ft, what the hell is that 6.7 makin for torque!
when built these diesels are no joke there torque monster
Did u have to put that music
I was interested in this but the videography zooming in and out and shaking was making me feel nauseated. Put the camera on a tripod or something?
Ken block and his daughter laughing lol
So 250 vs 1500? Just wondering about the gear ratio differences,, thats all
Both 6 speed they will be similar, the trx will have longer gears but the diesel can hang in gears and still get up n go
I want to see a gasoline Godzilla engine push rod supercharged against that TRX hellcat
2 different trucks, built for 2 different purposes, HP is kinda close, but the torque is nowhere near eachother
Nice having money to fix it, too. 😁
SPE valve body time!!!
Need both trucks to be at the same power 720 WHP That's gonna be a race👍👍
It’s not much of a difference, it’s the way the trucks put down the power
Except you can't take the 1,200 ft lb of torque out of the powerstroke 🤣
@@fiddynutz68 True but just like a diesel engine with simple boltons the TRX will be faster than the powerstroke. To get a diesel truck to run 10s takes more than just a tune.

This was badass as hell!! Time for a suncoast trans😂😂 crazy to see how much faster the plati is than the TRX. Would love to see the plati with a bulletproof drivetrain lay the full hammer on the TRX
Hilarious to say the junk powerstroke that died is faster , when the bone stock TRX let off 🤣
@@topitout2954 did you watch the video??? The power stroke drives fine under normal driving but I’m guessing you didn’t watch the video. The power stroke walked the TRX until it slipped between 3-4th.

@@DerekHen keep dreaming buddy , I’d he didn’t let off you wouldn’t of even the slightest chance of pulling ahead 😂. “ It’s fine under normal driving” but i only spent 30k on upgrades to drive it normal so it’s ok 🤣
The “normal driving” comment is because you said it died. It still works everywhere but WOT.
And I would say total it’d be around 10k in upgrades, that’s if he didn’t get any discounts From SPE. But, Instead of this pointless argument, you’ll just have to see after he builds the trans.
Until then, keep defending the TRX
Mr. Mopar man👍🏼
@@DerekHen with built trans TRX deserves at least a tune and pulley , which will easily make it continue to roast the ford .
Why would you compare a 2500 to a 1500 series
The 10 speed has 4 too many. The 6 speed is really tough. Same with Duramax put 3.73 back in it and 6 speed Allison bullet proof. But some injunear says oh 10 will be better.
Well for hauling the 10 speed is better, they built these trucks to haul not go fast, for speed and toughness yes a 6 speed Allison is a hell of a transmission but these trucks are built for hauling
When you're hauling 15 k toy box on a slight up hill what gear is your 10 speed in. I'll guess 5-6. With 35 " tires 3.73 diff.
Make another one but without the transmission fucking up. Usually it’s the dodge that’s transmission fucks up
Get that tranny repaired. Gives me confidence in my '17 Lariat F350's drivetrain, that lives a less abusive lifestyle. Waiting for the re-race.
I was a car guy since 1982, the second year of high school. I had a friend who told me many years ago about a Ford truck that had a big block 460. It was for racing. When they have problems, it's usually not Ford's fault that it has issues. It's usually other companies'. That powerstroke ci engine in your Super Duty had an injector pump manufactured by Bosch Corporation from Germany. What was the problem with them? Over there in Europe, compression ignition engine fuel has a greater lubricity than what's sold here in North America. It's coming closer to being gasoline than ci fuel. Why don't I use the word Diesel fuel? That's what the person's name was. Rudolph was his first name. So yes, it was Rudolph Diesel who invented the compression ignition engine. That's the reason why I use that acronym. Another reason is that an engine isn't able to be a man, and neither could it be the opposite. I wonder why Ford started using that transmission for the Super Duty truck, knowing that it isn't capable of handling all that torque? That's possibly the reason why the stock truck has such poor acceleration. They want to protect that transmission.
I just want a exhaust with small tune
Damn it’s sad to see such ugly welds on that intake on the f250
Its quite insane the engineering the trx has to have a stock transmission handle all that power. Those zf8 transmissions can take a beating unlike the ford transmissions.
That zf8 is taking half the beating 🤣
I'm confused on why everyone is tryin to race against a TRX. The TRX is limited to 118mph and it was all built purpose off-roader against the raptor lol .. if ram built an all purpose street truck like Ford has with the Shelby supersnake f150 then I'd understand the comparison. Any modded diesel will beat a gasser. Them diesel can take tons of mods to be insane fast. But at the end. If the ram TRX was built to a street truck like an art version I'd bet to believe it smash.
HP is how hard you hit the wall,
TQ is how far you take the wall with you.
Can u still get deleted ez links tunes
How much money total is in that Ford ?? 100k or more ?? Hennessey makes a 900 hp and 1000 hp tune for the TRX or you can go bat shit crazy and get the Hellon twin turbo kit for the TRX.
That's no problem the TRX have good power to and that's good
Sickk! The Platti was about to lay it down! TRX has no chance! Can't wait to see a rematch with a built tranny Platti!
You guys kill me with thinking it’s faster . It’s has tons of money into it still is pile of crap . Once it has a built trans , the TRX is still stock , add a few mods to it and it will roast the f350 even if it has a built trans . 💩
@@topitout2954 who cares stock vs. stock. The Superduty isn't meant or advertised as a sport truck like the TRX. Yet it will beat the TRX on the strip, throw the TRX on a trailer and tow it home. Gotta love diesel! Obviously it doesn't need 720hp to beat a TRX. A deleted 6.7 Powerstroke could probably handle that and not need a rebuilt tranny.
@@naterod5617 a deleted 6.7 powerstroke doesn’t have a chance , even after this guy gets a built trans , all the TRX will need is a pulley and a tune to roast it again . There’s 1,000 + hp TRXs running around with less money spent . Stock trans holds up flawlessly .
@@topitout2954 I hear you. A 1000hp TRX would be mean. I would still take the Platti or similar because I use my trucks for work and play. I would blow up a TRX before I would a diesel. Super cool to see races with trucks from two different worlds!
@@naterod5617 yea true , can’t do much work at all with the TRX haha . I’m currently going for 1,000 horse with a magnuson blower so I’m biased to it because I own one 😆.

Same way I blew my trans. 3-4 shift but still drivable. I bought a built RevMax trans. Hate to say not really impressed by their trans.
What's the issue with RevMax's trans?
Midwest is the best
My stock trans shifted way better and they don't want you to tune the trans. I changed the fluid after 10k and it was all glitter. Granted they told me to ship it back but I use my truck for work and can't wait 2 weeks for them to fix it.
@@cmcrc5881 If you dropped the pan at 10k and it was full of metal something is wrong. Even if you need the truck for work, it would be wise to get the trans back to them for a rebuild asap. RevMax is a good company, but mistakes can happen; I'm sure it's covered under warranty. That metal is coming from clutch material, the converter, something... but either way; it ain't good.
@@monsterram6617 I do understand that. Just waiting on junkyard to get me a stock 6r140 to put in the truck so I can send revmax my transmission back. Not trying to bash them just upset.
Wouldn't be a video with a ford without it breaking down atleast momentarily, lol.
Honestly…Diesels really aren’t meant to be modded.
Look at any videos with modded diesels from the big 3 and someone always breaks something. To successfully mod one without breaking stuff you have to rebuild your entire powertrain.
If you are putting 700 horsies to the ground but your transmission can only handle 600…then you can probably bet on what’s going to happen.
