TRX Owner here. Can’t argue with the results. Both great trucks!
I would be fearful of an off road race with some small jumps. The lighter R would probably do a little better.

Yea I agree. Both built for stuff like off road racing and dunes and stuff, but I’ll always take the mopar.
I don't like the suspension, feels like you're driving a water bed with 700 hp. I know that's kind of the point but it's just not for me.

@mmaraio_1250 I work in the service department of a dodge dealer and drive these fairly regularly, don't like them. The JL with the 6.4 is cooler and like 10 grand cheaper.
@@midship_nc I also have a 392 wrangler, really like it. It’s super fun with the top off and sounds better than to TRX. I just love the way the TRX cruises. It’s so comfortable.
But I do love the looks I get in the Jeep. People are like WTF? A Jeep ain’t supposed to sound like that!
TRX owner. Love both trucks. Raptor R is sick. Still like the sound, look, and interior of my truck more though. Also runs 12.4 stock.
TRX Owner as well. I didn’t know I would love it as much as do. I feel I get a bit of a super sports car, regular pickup with beast capability!
@@danramirez4290 No offense, but the TRX has a very mundane look. Does not stand out as much as a Raptor. It looks like any other Rams. My Titan Pro-4x looks better than the TRX.
Just left the freedom factory from the driver experience and cleetus i had a blast man appreciate you doing things like this.
The Raptor has 37s on it as well, makes a big difference, be even faster with 35s
Put a set of Toyo Tripple R's on both trucks and rematch. Then add 700 lbs to the Raptor.... same outcome??? Not!!!

I prefer the Raptor but we gotta thank Dodge for making the TRX, otherwise Ford probably wouldn’t have dropped the Raptor R 😮💨🙌🏽 the two most badass super trucks on the road

Except the TRX is better, and you don't need to make a greedy dealership rich paying their absurd markup. Raptor R is a $85K truck with a $50K V8 because of dealers

@@donaldkinder6716 It's not really any more embarrassing than the TRX losing a drag race or being unable to drift like the Raptor or do a proper Baja run like the Raptor. Weight is overall king in TOW. Their power is identical and yet the TRX has a small bit more and obviously more weight and smaller tire setup for less rolling mass. It would be embarrassing if it didn't win. Either one is good for what they do.

That was a great video. Love both the trucks. I have a TRX and wouldn't trade it for anything else! I do love me some Raptor, though. Raptor R seems to be just slightly quicker. TRX seems to be just slightly cooler lol

@@ronjones-6977 after watching the video of Ken Block driving a TRX through the desert I would be surprised if a Raptor could do much better. In the woods I don't imagine either doing real well because of their size
We NEED another cheap boat/car/truck/whatever challenge between cleet jackstand and george. These guys’ camaraderie is the closest I’ve ever seen to top gear and thats saying something.

That is the only truth. Wait til Ram makes a rebuttal to the R version of a Raptor. We’re only on chapter one of the TRX. Raptor is like 5 engines in and 3 bodystyles. We had to wait for a TRX competitor. Raptor boys, stand by for a giant TRX dump 🤷🏽

The Raptor was done in the tug-o-war back when you told us the TRX weighed 700lbs more. More weight = more grip.
It's only 400lbs heavier, but it's all at the front !!
The tyres are more off-road
@@arkhsm More weight is more weight, same as when people claim a win is a win. Being lighter helped the Raptor win, even tho it was "only 400lbs lighter"
and in the drag race, being several hundred pounds lighter made all the difference

The TRX is Rams version of the Ford Raptor. When Ram did the reveal of it, they had the song "Mr. Sandman" playing on the commercial. Ford answered with the Raptor R shortly after. During Fords release, they played the song "Enter Sandman" by Metallica.. Probably one of the best marking strategies I've witnessed by Ford.
For the weak brand that is Fiat they sure do make an effort with TRX.

What?.Ford is like the Ho Chi Min of the industry. Wait till dodge makes the TRX ,Then Copy. Jeep was first with removeable doors and top.Bronco copies it. Jeep comes out with 392 V8, Here comes a Bronco with a 5.0 no doubt. Fords develop dept are Dodge commercials.

You mean the TRX that is actually called a T-Rex as in the dinosaur... which is what a Raptor is.... but yet Ford copied them... that makes sense. "Jeep was the first with removable door and top".... Sure, cars had removable tops and doors in 1915 didn't exist I guess.. heck, the first car ever made in 1880's didn't have doors or a roof so we put doors and roofs on them just so you can remove them again.. smart.. But hey, at least you can take the doors of the Bronco and still have mirrors unlike the Wrangler.... Then to the 6.4 V8 that Jeep made that produces 470 HP and 470 lb ft of tourqe while Fords HO 3.5 V6 that they have had for years produces 450 HP and 510 lb ft of torque (20 Hp less than Jeep but 40 more lb ft of torque) and it gets better gas mileage.. Why wouldn't they just up the V6 a little and beat Jeeps V8 with a V6? Makes more sense to do that but hey, I'm no expert on the subject so

When it got to a 2year wait. on top of the fact new models have not had the bugs worked out yet and the new bronco had a lot. the top had to be re -designed and the spare tire holder couldn't. I ended up with a Mojave. The raptors plastic fender flares looks likes non others to copy from. Ford was on their own and that was the result. America's Most Wanted will have an Engine solution for the Bronco someday.

The TRX would have done better off the line because of the wait look at no prep guys they start weighing their cars down after they lighten their cars up to get traction

TRX for me, love the way it looks inside and out. The Hemi V8 roar plus the supercharger whine is perfection!
Raptor R for me, faster, sounds better, and can actually handle some heavy off-road trails

Ford has empress me with how they took a truck with off road set up. Made it a beast like the old Lightings. Crazy. I have heard there is a way to take off the limiter of 109 make it unlimited. E85 also. How about the Shelby F150 and the TRX now.

We needed the dirt drag race in the FF field! I already knew the Raptor was winning on pavement.
Prepped asphalt Raptor takes it, but on just a normal road, the TRX takes it. The track has too much grip, that's why it wheel hopped.

@@enigma9789 the raptor R has 4:10 rear gears and the trx has 3:55s and just a 8 speed plus 700 pounds heavier. Pretty impressive it’s only a tenth slower than the raptor🤷🏻

I really want to see these two in an off-road race. I'm 100% certain that the raptor would clean up in a true high speed off-road race, and I think it would still win in a slower rock crawling race

This was very low force on the balls like they were pulling. The videos where you see them snap off and go sailing through the air are when they are pulling stuck trucks out by running like hell with a loose strap until it yanks like hell.
This test convinced me that I might need to buy both.😂

The Raptor R also has 37's from the factory versus the 35's on the Trx if i remember correctly right? That would play a role as well.

Disadvantage to have taller tires. More wheel torque with smaller tires.
@@dougleitz1134 disadvantage to be 700lbs heavier , have 3.55 gears vs R’s 4.10 and a 8speed not a 10 speed .
@@03terminatorsnakehonestly diff gear ratio doesn’t make as much of a difference as it used to with these 8-10 speed transmissions bc the gear ratios for every gear are very short

Spent a few hours at the Freedom Factory today. Bought tickets for the MRE and it was awesome. The FF crew was amazing. Getting to drive 20 laps was absolutely epic, and was way to short of a time 😂 Highlight of the day was having Zack drive us around the track and show us what a Crown Vic is capable of 👍🏻

The Raptor is limited to 109. There's a video of a guy who was able to change it and his ETs were .2 quicker and 8 mph faster.
I was a ram guy for the longest time, but really been digging the f150 in the last couple years. Both trucks are great, but f150 with v8 is my next truck this year
Watch out for the 10 speed and phase sensors.

@@BudMasta😂You’re wild the 5.0 is superior to the 6.4 and 6.2 from its competitors. It has forged internals and can handle more power than the other engines stock as well. My F150 5.0 is a beast 95K miles pulling strong
