@@carholic-sz3qv they seem to really be built to a higher standard, I don’t know the specifics of the axles or anything but he has wailed super hard on that thing and it has held up incredibly well.

I'll admit, the G-wagon did a hell of a lot more than I expected it to.
The g wagon is the only truck actually able to off road in it's segment
The G-Wagons reputation was ruined by celebrities and influencers alike treating the car like a luxury pavement princess but no one truly realizes that before the luxury mercedes ruthlessly formed their car around durable and offroading capabilities. Luckily whistlin is now able to remind everyone that car is truly a beast and the true capabilities of it which is why im glad he bought one

@@bruhmoment-zg9fx the only place I've seen the gwagon is in whistlindiesel videos. I based my original assumption that it wouldn't do well rock crawling on the fact that it has low profile tires, a fairly low ride height and suspension that doesn't seem very far out of the ordinary.
The fact that the G wagon is still operating is insane

It broke two axles. They are not as durable as you think. It's not a Land Cruiser. Also there's a fully separate non-civilian version of the G-wagon that is stronger. The W646.
What these video's don't show you is how much money is spent on needed to make the G-wagon run again. It took 30K USD to repair the engine the last time Cody flipped it over.

The G wagon is definitely the only expensive car that is worth the money it still has the strength the cars had and quality in the 90’s but the taste of the new era

Most of the time when creators start doin joint clips and such, it is jus super awkward for the most of the time when they are doing it, these guys absolutely nailed it and there shared content and joint ventures are always killer and make for great clips 🤘👍
Not sure if my crawling experience was as extreme as that very first climb, but I've gone over similar obstacles in a stock 2007 Jeep Liberty.
It made it through the Blue Trail at Badlands, Indiana, and Trail 22 at Windrock Tennessee!

Drove an earlier version of the G-Wagon in Germany during the mid 80's. It was a very capable vehicle.

@@ramp7857 front rear and center locking diffs, high ground clearance, solid rear axle... that's engineered to go off-road. It may be on a whole different level of luxury compared to what it used to be, and so expensive that people don't take it off the pavement by fear of scuffing the paint, but it's still a bad ass off-roading machine.
We got to admit, the G-weagon is way more than we thought it is, is a beast

It’s one of the very, very few performance off-roaders there are. That alone makes it incredibly awesome. Ladder frame and solid axles with 3 100% lockable diffs speak for themselves. And don’t come with some SRT Grand Cherokees or stuffed toys like that…
G wagons have always been greater than expected off-road. Got to love Rory Irish.

That was incredible! Loved every second of that, and i was on the edge of my seat seeing what all that G Wagon was capable of! I think some bead locks and it aired down a little and it'd do even better than it already did, but that was incredible!

He posted a video about what he was doing out there when he ran into Dave. It would have been nice of Dave to give him a bit more airtime as thanks for the help with the line to take. Rory did show himself going through it in his Jeep after he helped Dave. I'd love to see Rory's channel grow even more, and with as many viewers as Dave has, I'm sure it would have given his channel a boost.

The Mercedes GLK is a mini G wagon also with a little less clearance, but will offroad most SUVs of that type including BMW and AUDI

Brodozer is same gen and my 2013 Powerstroke. Love that thing. Especially the let off noise deleted and tuned 6.7’s make.

Having watched videos of the G-Wagon and Land Rovers in general I knew it would be. The only downside is the clearance. I feel like the brodozer is only cool in theory but it looks like it is so damn heavy. Seems like something with that same visual set up but much lighter would be better
I've seen videos of a brand new Range Rover long-wheelbase like $200,000 on factory tires not even Lowepro mud-terrain like Cody has but totally Factory all seasons do all this stuff

The crazy thing is that this is the 2020 face lift G. I haven't seen anyone do that with the 30+ year old pre facelift w463 yet. While it's great, I dont know if it's actually better or worse offroad than the last one.
