Hello, I purchased these 8 templates and I watched this video, and I would like to know when you quilt this template can you start up from where you ended the last stitch so it looks like the stitch continues without stopping? I hope I made sense. Thanks
Hello! After a hectic but fun day, it is so nice to sit and watch your video. I hope you have a peaceful week ahead. Thank you for sharing this video and your time.
I just purchased the Dabline template and it arrived today and I accidentally found this tutorial tonight! I’ll be thoroughly ready to try it tomorrow! You made it look so easy!! Thank you so much!
We are so glad you're here, Lorine! Don't forget to check out our other video tutorials here: ua-cam.com/play/PL2cUZAw3heqIsKlo7eZ454yNh9irtTLru.html Happy quilting!
Excellent point! Yes, you can just flip around the template. That’s why I love quilting and quilting tools, there usually isn’t just “one” way to make it work.
I wish the people demonstrating various templates in UA-cam videos would quilt more than one row so we could see how a second row should be started and how the overall fill pattern will look.
How do I keep the material from bunching up! I have the non slip rings on the template and I am wearing gloves. The sandwich I'm using for practice keeps getting bunched up. Very frustrating!
I was so excited to get going but both of my machines (Zuni and Janome) did not come with that particular quilting ruler foot with the lip…. So disappointing
None of the sewing machine comes with the "ruler foot". You usually can buy the ruler foot where you bought the templates, or even Amazon. Just have to know if low shank or high shank.
When fmq i learned to start to pull your bobbin thread then lock it in. Are you not able to that while using the template? I just got my order in today excited to use them 😊
@Dabline I actually returned them. This product is way to flimsy of a material. I even brought them to a few quilters that had experience with quilting rulers. They said to return because of it.
Is the Meander template suppose to bounce up a little when using it inside the frame with handles? It doesnt look like yours does. I have a high shank ruler foot for my Janome and have it adjusted all the way down and the fabric moves under it smoothly.
I just purchased a Brother LS-1520. And, I purchased your quilting templates. I need help. Do you have a vedio, or can you send me directions to help with correct tension settings, stitch length, correct foot to use, and, why is my fabric not moving. The feet are down, but it the threads just piles up in the back.please help. Thank you
Absolutely, Gail. Watch this video to learn how to set up your machine for free motion quilting: ua-cam.com/video/gTSwzYPJnv0/v-deo.html This video shows how to choose the right ruler foot for your machine: ua-cam.com/video/PZ7Gioh8qHA/v-deo.html
I have almost the exact same one, and I was using it on placemats and I kept getting knots at the bottom..........I don't know why. When I would use the practice piece, it didn't jam up.
@@Dabline yes, it's pretty much the same as yours, the metal circle that does not go up and down, and I have it low enough to skim across the top of the fabric without pushing it. I have the singer quantum stylus 9960,
I think if you leave your presser foot down and just pivot your template around the foot you can continue on without moving the template You just pivot it in spot. And then continue on through the template back to the right side then swing and pivot the template under the foot again. And continue on that way.
Hello, I have just watched this video. As you did the display I asked myself why ,instead of going through the whole template at the end, why didn´t you just turn it further and it would be so to speak at the beginning again.
Thank you. I just thought that maybe, for beginners, it would be easier if you had given them this possibility too. Much easier than going all the way back to the beginning. As the template is the same upside if you will , I was surprised when you didn´t just switch the template to the right of the needle and continue. But thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. @@Dabline
Hi Michele, moving and shifting heavy quilts can put your muscles and nerves under pressure and tension. Using our quilting gloves that have rubberized fingertips will help you move heavy quilts easily as it provides a better grip on fabrics.
You said to leave the foot next to the acrylic template but it seems like you are aren't staying on one side. As you turn you go to the other side of the template. CONFUSING!!

This is exactly how we do it. Stop, rotate, and start stitching where you ended your last stich.
I was thinking the same thoughts
I love the idea of running thru the template without sewing. Great tip

We love your positive energy, Brenda! Thanks a lot for your sweet and kind words and thank you for being part of Dabline family ❤️

Happy quilting!
Thank you. This is just what I needed. Your video is clear, helpfun and precise.
Glad it was helpful!
Can you not just flip the template around so that the end point becomes the start?
Great question.
Excellent point! Yes, you can just flip around the template. That’s why I love quilting and quilting tools, there usually isn’t just “one” way to make it work.
Was thinking exactly the same!
The instructions that came with my Dabline kit says to flip the template, not to snake back like in this video.
Yes look at the candy cotton template vid she shows you how
Excellent video. Great instruction. Thank you. I’m a beginner template user. LoL. I may be starting a new habit. ❤❤❤❤
We're so happy you found this helpful! 💗
This si a great video.I am a novice and I feel I can do it!
I wish the people demonstrating various templates in UA-cam videos would quilt more than one row so we could see how a second row should be started and how the overall fill pattern will look.
Here is a video on how to do full quilts on your fabric:

Thanks for the reply, but that template is completely different this template.
What template are you using? We have video tutorials for each one. Let me know so I can share it with you
Great video, thankyou so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for your videos
Thanks for watching, Tina!
Great video. How do you start the next row?
You simply rotate your template and start where you ended your last stich.
Is this ruler set for a low shank or high shank machine foot?
I have a SInger Quantum 9960. The lowest stitch setting is .8. Will this work? I cannot find a way to get a length of zero.
How do I keep the material from bunching up! I have the non slip rings on the template and I am wearing gloves. The sandwich I'm using for practice keeps getting bunched up.
Very frustrating!
Are you using the correct ruler foot? Please watch this video to ensure your machine is set up correctly:

I was so excited to get going but both of my machines (Zuni and Janome) did not come with that particular quilting ruler foot with the lip…. So disappointing
Have you tried to use a regular one? Check out this video:

I'm in to flip of the template.
Anytime I lower the presser foot, it puts too much pressure on the fabric and I can’t even move the fabric. Is there a way to adjust this?
Are you sure you are using the correct ruler foot? ua-cam.com/video/PZ7Gioh8qHA/v-deo.html

@Dabline I actually returned them. This product is way to flimsy of a material. I even brought them to a few quilters that had experience with quilting rulers. They said to return because of it.
@@stineandscott I'm sorry to hear that! What machine do you have? Did you use a proper ruler foot for them?
@Dabline juki tl 2010q and yes I bought the ruler foot that is ment for my juki.
Is the Meander template suppose to bounce up a little when using it inside the frame with handles? It doesnt look like yours does. I have a high shank ruler foot for my Janome and have it adjusted all the way down and the fabric moves under it smoothly.
It shouldn't. Try using the template without the frame

I just tried this, in this ruler and in some blue petal rulers
I understand and know what needs to be done, it's the doing it i can't do 😔

I wish the lighting around her foot was better. Hard to see
We do have more videos that you can see the ruler foot clearly:
ua-cam.com/play/PL2cUZAw3heqIsKlo7eZ454yNh9irtTLru.html
I was told to spin the template and continue
You can do that as well!
Why can’t we just swing it over with the needle down?
It won't fit. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/gV4_YWQuN4I/v-deo.htmlsi=VXtnjJXYIW2QBEZo
After stitching, when you said look how beautiful that looks, we can't see it because of the shadow over it!
Oh no! Next time, we will make sure there are no shadows! Thanks for your feedback
Instead of moving the template, couldn't you just spin it 180°?
You can definitely do that if that is easier for you
The depth of the template worries me, I would be afraid the foot could run right over it? A quilt is not a really flat surface?????
These templates will work only if the quilt is on flat surface
Why do you wear the gloves?
Hi Michele, moving and shifting heavy quilts can put your muscles and nerves under pressure and tension. Using our quilting gloves that have rubberized fingertips will help you move heavy quilts easily as it provides a better grip on fabrics.

Yes, you need to turn the template as you go to get this final quilt pattern.
You didn't do that without the thread. You took thee top part off the second time. Your instructions you should view before downloading
Thanks for your comment 👍
It shows that you just have to rotate the template 180 degrees. You shouldn’t have to start over by moving you template
You're absolutely right! You have the option to either rotate the template or start over, whichever is more convenient for you.
It might just be the lighting but it looks like a rowof little horsies
Какая нудятина!!! Проще без шаблона!!!
