I put one on my 1956 F100 that has a 1974 C4 trans. The only problem was that the shift cable is too short after installing the side shift device so I had to make an extension device between the cable and shift knob button. This video shows it being too long and having to be cut. Jim

1. I tried to download the instructions, I kept getting the "email error" message everyone is getting (why can't ASC just include the instructions!!??
2. So I winged it with this video. Everything is intuitive. After install, all seems good!
Tip: leave all bracket bolts loose, very loose as you are installing. Nothing will line-up if you tighten them down initially.
A ton of pieces, and the shift button shown is for a rare C-4 that most vehicles do not have.

The tail piece on mine had to be put on opposite of this video had to use a washer to space it out past the vent.

I purchased one of these and the instructions are horrible, they say they are for a C4 but the video shows different transmissions and with a C4 you cannot install in the two forward spots as the linkage hits the trans or the brackets.
Overall this is a piece of shit and I'm sorry I bought it. I'm an experienced mechanic and used to a bit of tweeking but this is ridiculous.
The instructions that are supplied online virtually useless, how hard would it have been to make trans specific printed instructions?
Don't buy any of their products, I had the same problems with the autoloc ebrake.
Same thing plus I didn't get all the parts. I'm glad I found this video. I'm missing the side shift piece and the ends for the shift rod. I'm going to try and contact the company before I give up and try another shifter from a different company. There is no excuse for no instructions, no parts list in the box, missing parts, and the brackets are misaligned, and shitty allen head bolts. Chinese Shifter Company
