      Thank you so much for that comment. I’m not too sure that I am Sony ambassador material. I’m a little rough around the edges on second thought maybe Sony needs to have a few ambassadors that are a little rough around the edges. Ha ha thanks for stopping by and watching my video. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

    Ron - I owned a D500 but was not a fan so I sold it shortly after getting it. I shoot Canon, but grew up shooting Nikon and have several Sony cameras as well - this camera impressed me A LOT. This is a super affordable, extremely capable - (AMAZING in fact) little camera. I only had my rental for a couple of days so I did not have time to dig into the menus and could not move the focus point. I would think that somewhere in the there, you should be able to set part of the screen as a pad to do that but I did not try - I was just happy I was able to get some shots. And thank you for sharing your editing technique - I LOVE seeing how others edit their treasures. 🙏💖🤗

    Hey Grandpa 👋🏻
    You are a great photographer and that was a good shot you have taken there .
    I was condused whether I should buy Canon r7 or sony a6700 , now i think I should buy sony a6700 because it has more and better features (ai af system) and better lens choices.
    You say which one i should buy because its gonna be my first camera

    • @rdphoto2
      @rdphoto2  Рік тому

      Grandpa! Yes I am that. Ha Ha. To answer your question would depend on what kind of photographs you want to make with the camera. The A6700 or R7 would either be a good choice. I am primarily using the A6700 for Wildlife. The cost of the A6700/200-600 Rig compared to the R7/100-500L lens is the A6700 was about $700 cheaper. But that is for wildlife.

      Thank you for the subscribe and like. I absolutely love this little camera. Been having fun learning all the settings. I am from the Nikon Camp so it is a little strange but not bad to learn. I will be doing some video's soon showing off the video capability. One of the reason's I wanted the A6700 was for it's video. Again, Thanks for stopping by. Cheers

      Thank you James glad you enjoyed it. It was a tough decision to move from the D 500. But it’s some thing I have been thinking about for sometime. I do love the Nikon D500 and I always said I would never get rid of it. Well, I lied.

    • @forced_perspective
      @forced_perspective Рік тому +1

      @rdphoto2 hahahaha yes I'm so seriously looking at Sony or Canon now. Unless I find a frustrated z8 or z9 user trying to offload for a cheap price, I don't see another Nikon in the near future

    Nice editing tutorial and final image looks great, Especially for iso 6400. I just picked the A6700 myself and my biggest worry was high iso noise and if it would be too much. Clearly Topaz negates that worry I see. Thanks!

    • @rdphoto2
      @rdphoto2  Рік тому +1

      I will say this. The Sony A6700 seems to have a bit more noise than my Nikon D500 did. But it cleans up nicely. Proper Shooting Technique is important when using the 200-600 Lens as it is a bit heavier. There have been several mentions that the 70-350 Sony Lens is worth a look. Lighter and Sharp. The 200-600 gives me the reach I need. One more thing, watching a video or two about ISO Noise and how to overcome it with camera settings might help. Cheers.

    Grandad??? Ha ha ha these young wipper snappers. I can't put the a6700 down it's that fantastic not even using the a7iv since getting this.. but I have found the auto focus does a better job sticking to the eyes... try turning that 600mm into a 1200mm using the 2x clear image zoom feature it's awesome.. great video sir... us old guys can have fun too noh....

    Great video Ron. I’ve got the Sony 200-600 lens & A6500 and I’m considering getting the A6700. By the way the 1.4x converter works well with this lens as well. (but not so much the 2x converter) Rob U.K.

      Thanks for stopping by Rob. I considered the 1.4tele but that I would just try it without for awhile. The A6700 is a real nice camera body. Just did a setup guide for Landscape Photography that comes out tomorrow. So be on the watch for that one. Cheers. Ron

    Just got my a6700. Excellent camera. I have the same 200-600 for bird photography and the new Tamron 18-300 zoom/macro lens for insect photography. It's better than the A74 due to the A7R5 focus zones for everything including bugs.

    Fantastic video Ron, enjoyed it immensely. I'm mostly a music event or portrait photographer on the side of my music business, but would very much like to do some animal or landscape photography as well. I'm not using Lightroom either but Luminar NEO, still I learned from how you were masking things, and Topaz is surely a greatbtool, I knew that before. I'll gladly follow your channel in the future. Nice video man. I've got a similar set up a6700/200-600. I need to get a better memory card for 4k slomo video. Updated my a6000 and the buttons are different on it too. I touch the screen for focus lacement.

      Thanks Paul for stopping by. I am still in the Get Used To It phase. Coming from Nikon the big hurdle is the menu system. But I am making progress. I did find the Touch Screen settings that you have to turn on. Does not come from the factory with touch screen enabled.

    I switched from nikon z5 and nikon 200-500 to Sony A7iv with 200-600 and the autofocus system are not even comparable! Nikon would miss focus even in perched birds, especially when they where smaller in the frame. I guess different systems work better with different people so its better to stick with whatever gets you the best results! Cheers your fan from Greece!

      @@rdphoto2 Thanks for your response! I just have a canon powershot sx420 IS right now. I'm honestly leaning towards the a6700 because of availability and price of lens compared to canons lens. Also have been looking at the fujifilm x-t5 which seems impressive, but I still feel like the lens selection for the a6700 is better.

    I see your using your left eye. How is that working out? I ask because I pretty much only see out of my left eye & think with the viewfinder on the left, it is designed to use with the right eye. Anyway, happy shooting & enjoy your new camera.

    • @rdphoto2
      @rdphoto2  Рік тому

      I am right handed but left eye dominant. Always shot that way. It doesn’t feel any different with the A6700:having the EVF on the left. My nose still hits the screen just like it did using a DSLR. Thanks for coming by the channel and appreciate your comment. Cheers. Ron.

    That lens on the crop camera is effectively 300-900. The ability to get that kind of range is a big plus with an APS-C for wildlife. I’m looking at getting this camera as my first mirrorless. If I’m not mistaken I think you can use the touchscreen to move the focus point. Were you using the bird AI focusing ?

    • @rdphoto2
      @rdphoto2  Рік тому

      Yes you can use the touch screen. It is not turned on by default. You have to go into the menus and turn on Touch Screen Operations.

    Ron, I was looking for the Topaz feature you used to edit the bird. Is that included with LR classic?

    • @rdphoto2
      @rdphoto2  Рік тому

      It is sold separate from Topaz Labs. They have a 3 product bundle which I have. It includes the Topaz Denoise, Sharpen and GigaPixel products. Lightroom Classic CC (new version) also has denoise built in now. Found under the Details Tab in Lightroom.

  • @timroach5898
    @timroach5898 4 місяці тому

    I would think the Topaz software would do a better job, I think it may be from the fact you sent the data to Topaz as a TIFF. Topaz will read RAW if I remember back when I owned it. That would give you more detail for Topaz to use for the De-noise and detail. Then edit the result in Lightroom.
