Bobbers biggest enemy for me is wind. Seems like whenever I rig up for some bobber action the wind ruins my plan. But… when I go to certain lakes that are ten feet or less like you said and I just want to have the kids catch bluegill or sun fish the cigar weighted float reigns supreme for me. Never tried the addicted floats. But they are made by experienced anglers and the design shows it. Ratings were accurate. good video.
Your trout fishing adventures are always a blast to follow trout fishing season just started over here! Caught some wild brook trout right in the middle of the city in my last video/ adventure gotta love it only thing better would be if more kids my age would fish!
I have to be honest, i despise the red/white clip type bobbers...i havent purchased one in probably 20 yrs, i find more than enough of them washed up on the bank...some type of weighted slip bobber set up with a stop (thill floats are readily available in my area) is a bit more complex to set up, but seems to be more effective and much easier to cast than the clunky red/white pokeballs lol
There's no way to knick the line if you install the bobber correctly. You might get some line memory spinning it around the wire but the only way to knick the line is installer error dragging the line over the wire cut edge.
I was magnet fishing the other day. Found 3 Swivels and a hook in the Rising Water. I should mention first. I got nothing. My magnet was casted off the Bank. And was 100% not capable of anything. (The snow melts are SENDING the water down). 3 swivels, 1 Hook and a 5$ aero flight? Or aero something 1/8th ounce. Perfect condition. I legit saved 5$ by just walking around. (Very new to anything fishing

Use those heavier bobbers in the wind Rhett and they should help with cast distance and float into the strike zone!

I can't fish the red/white bobbers too! They fly off the line too easily now!
I guess im just a classic red and wbire bobber person but i have the trout magnet bobbers specifically to use with my trout magnets

Are floaters suppose to keep the hook and bait not to hit the bottom of the river?
