Addicted Fishing I’ve had a lot of success with both. On smaller bodies of water like a pond, fixed seem to work better, on larger bodies like the lakes and reservoirs, slip bobbers work better. Also, bobbers work better for me in the later months, like July to November. Early spring I have a lot more success with a Texas rig.
Thanks for the super simple tutorial! I came across this setup talking with a fellow fisherman and tried it today and absolutely love it. Only diff, was we used a sliding egg weight instead of the split shots. The reasoning is that it might be less prone to tangle as the weight can spin on the line. Super fun way to fish and will opens up a ton of possibilities with different bait! Awesome vid.
Hello from Victoria, BC, Canada. Thanks for posting these tips, I fish almost every morning, spinning lures, but I'm just starting to experiment with floats. Cheers.
Converted my bass rod for make shift trout rod using your aoproch...10 lb braid to 8lb Flouoro to swivel to 6lb.flouoro. ..niyhtcrawler and slayed stocked trout at an area lake. Great tips.
Always run a slip float. Just large enough to float the bait or lure. I agree with Jordan hard to beat the night crawler for trout... Another great tutorial ur awesome Jordan!
Have you ever wondered as to why an earthworm works so well on trout? There are no worms in lakes but there are leeches that trout like to eat. I'm assuming they think the worm is a leech.
Legit my go to channel when I have any trout or big river fish questions.. living in Oregon so close to you boys helps a lot.. when your ready for a day of rippin stockies cookin and slamming beer hit this comment.. would make a wonderful video up on green Peter/quartzville Oregon.. all love AF god bless
I live up in vernon bc and I’m so thankful for the beautiful place I live in and be able to go to the most breath taking spots with some of the nicest fish in the world, TROUT❤️🙏🏿 love the vids and I am truly addicted….
Same rig for me but I do prefer the inline sinkers. I also like the floats that can be taken on and off without having to re-tie. If I get tired of float fishing I can switch to bottom fishing pretty easily. I'll fish anything but I prefer the power eggs because they stay on the hook and practically last forever.
I tend not to use a bobber unless i'm at a real snaggy spot. When i do use one i just grab the cheap red/white ones, nothing fancy with a good amount of weight so i can bomb it out a good distance. The key is trying to set the hook early so your not gut hooking a ton of fish and re-tying every five min.
I use a sliding bobber always...easy to adjust my depth. That includes suspended power bait using a single bb size split shot above the bait to keep it down.
Love your trout vids Jordan. Maybe we can go pike fishing on Long lake sometime if your in the neighborhood 😉. Bring them sportsman's Warehouse bash's up here with ya lol
How do you fish deep stocked lakes for trout? Would it make sense to use a corkie with a slider weight to sink it to the bottom? Only reason I say corkie is powerbaits don't always float the weight of the hook.
what I noticed when I went fishing for trout on bobber. The pond I go to the trout are skittish. They don't bite on normal bobber. I had to used clear fishing bobber.
Somewhat new to bobber fishing. I’ve lost/missed quite a few fish lately due to ending up with way too much slack (partly bc my main line sinks) , which I have to reel in before setting the hook. I usually reel in for 1/2-1 second (just enough to get rid of most of the slack), then set the hook, but I keep missing them. What am a doing wrong. Do people use floating line when bobber fishing to reduce the slack.
Do people use power bait with a bobber as well? Sorry if that’s a stupid question I’m just trying to figure out how to trout fish at my local lake I’ve never done it before
his spool was using 10 lb mono, I assume he added a length of that 12 lb fluoro just to make the line more invisible for the fish. Normally it wouldn't matter at all but trout have better vision than other fish
why not use a setup as you would a steelhead. lead core or slinky as weight system and a 3 foot leader from there with worms or eggs. or even a few shots and a hook and drift it down stream? Man can not catch fish with Bobbers alone
Why are you making this so difficult? Especially for stocked trout. If you're fishing a slip bobber, do it like your Bobber Doggin video. You DON'T NEED that middle section. Better yet, just use monofilament or flourocarbon line. Or just use a clip on bobber. When the bite is on, trout aren't that selective
Not sure if you tied that swivel knot properly or your hook. Through the eye and back through the top loop works. Not sure about the way you went about it but good luck
You guys are absolutely dominating with the content. Fuckin' eh. Now if you'll excuse me, the sun is out again, the river is getting un-blown-out, if that is possible - and I need to go smash some Coho.
Do you prefer a sliding or fixed float when fishing for trout?! 🤔

Love to watch Jordan tie his knots. Poetry in motion. Guess he's been doing this a while, eh?

Thank you for providing the details for this set up. I download Addicted To Fishing videos to my iPhone to help me while away from cell phone signals.

What size float for trout? 1/8?
Using 8 grams w/ 1/4 ounce weight@@thebigroy
Haven't seen that lake in 20 years 👏. Took me about 5 minutes into your video to recognize it
Thank you for all the advice. Keep up the great instructional videos!
Great info, thsnks
Slip float for everything. 100 percent.
💯
That’s an awesome lake to fish! I’ve caught a lot of trout there! I was there today in fact, but didn’t catch anything
Justin Costner Stockings should be coming up soon.
this is the 2nd video i've watched of yours, great instructional videos man, subscribed*
Great tutorial, thank you. I use 4 lb test Izorline, so I don't need so many knots. Can I use a Carolina Keeper as my bobber stopper ?

mono front to back no problems in over 20yrs fluoro, braid ect. just a waste of money!!! Tight lines!
they don't all work all the time, but they all work some of the time, all the time ! ; )
Wow!!! All that just for trout fishing? I'll still to black bass lol 😁
Thank you...

Randy Mayton Absolutely, great way to get down there and target them deeper.
Been watching your guys videos for a few days haven't caught anything quite yet :/
Great content

Should I use this rod for a large steel head trout or salmon ?
Will this work with a spring float?
Been drinking too much to pay attention. I'll try with coffee in the morning.
I know this lake, did they stock it recently?
Can I substitute bobber for a float. What’s the. Big difference
I use straight 4lb mono and a sliding egg weight with a bobber stop 18” from the hook. Good setup though.
So bobber -> sliding egg weight -> swivel -> leader -> swivel -> hook?
Really wish you listed the gear that you were using

yeah go with braid. I switched to it and it’s a lot easier to set bobber rigs
Use a high lb of braid as it floats better
What size bobber you using
Just watched again. Would like a second time if I could.
Everytime I bobber fish..the wind blows it sideways and back to the bank. I like the sliding sinker/ power bait method better
Do people use power bait with a bobber as well? Sorry if that’s a stupid question I’m just trying to figure out how to trout fish at my local lake I’ve never done it before
whats the point of the third 12 lb line with the blood knot?
his spool was using 10 lb mono, I assume he added a length of that 12 lb fluoro just to make the line more invisible for the fish. Normally it wouldn't matter at all but trout have better vision than other fish
I zoned out after like the third swivel
The 80s porn music works well. Good job Addicted 👏
i have the most luck using minnows

Can never keep the power bait on my hook no matter how much I ball it up
add some cotton to it. the fibers make it hold.
Wet it before you cast out.
OK , you went extremely fast on the knot 👀 but Great Video
Say , is there anyone within the Illinois area - that can set up my gear this way ? Help a Rookie 👂
The corn is illegal in my state.

Thats illegal in finland😞
Alex Vuori fishing is illegal?
Crazy! Why?
@@NoRodnoReel yea in finland is illegal to use worms in waters that have trout
@@NoRodnoReel not fishing
Alex Vuori fly fishing is better anyways
trout fishing is so complicated.
Sorry its way too complicated.
Agreed! my head is spinning with just tying a bobber on 😂
