as a woman who's currently engaged and has been going through the wedding planning process for about 9 months, something that really frustrates me is that EVERYTHING i've done so far has been expected to be planned out by the bride alone. My fiance is currently deployed so I have to do it alone but it's annoying that it doesn't seem uncommon at all for the grooms only tasks to be to show up and dress nice.
I don't understand how people marry someone and then only learn who their partner is years after they're so desperate to get married they don't even know what they're getting into, a lot of people are just desperate to get married, they see it as the most important thing they can do
Then it's even worse when you realize how expensive it is to get married and then divorce is even worse. Then you gotta deal with it emotionally whenever it gets brought up when things aren't working out. Would rather date someone for years.
The pressure to get married young is INTENSE in rural areas. This looks like it came from one of those areas. I come from one of those areas too, and it's been like a constant pressure ever since I got into highschool (yes into highschool, not out of highschool). There's this whole idea that your focus should always be getting married and starting a family over everything else. Sure, do school, do college, do your job... but only to a point. And while you're doing it, you should also be dating and cultivating a relationship. Your worth is almost entirely in how soon you get married and have kids, and you face an intense stigma if you aren't married with kids. At any social gatherings, you could be a single world-renowned neurosurgeon or something, but you'd still be treated "lesser" than the 20-year-old couple with 4 kids and minimum-wage jobs.
@@amierithThat mindset is absolutely horrendous. It’s such an outdated social standard to outright expect someone to have kids instead of focusing on every other facet of their life first, it’s why so many dumb people end up having so many kids when they’re clearly not ready to or capable and then people act surprised when the parents do a poor job at raising them right and the cycle continues. It’s such an entitled thing to think that you or someone else is more important as a person just because they have a child
If I got married I would NEVER do this to my wife. This is suppose to be a heartfelt moment and a moment to really tell your wife how much you love her and how much you care about her
My mother is a baker and has pointed out to me many times when watching those videos that there is often stakes or other things supporting the cake that could easily take out an eye if people doing this aren't careful. So one more reason to hate this trend

@@Hekeepblessingme Marriage isn't like a school group project. You don't get randomly assigned someone only to find out you're the only one putting any effort into the group project. Marriage is like "teh" most important union-ship a person can commit to. You're suppose to date for several months (or even years) before deciding that's your forever person. So again, it's not it was a random fluke that she got assigned to a random loser. She purposely dated this man. Learned and discovered everything that he is, and all his mannerisms -- and she still chose to marry him. Would you marry this man? Do you think this man is intelligent enough to manipulate you into marrying him? I won't downplay that he's an idiot, but you can't act like the woman is an innocent victim when she willingly signed up for this. Marriage isn't random. It's not forced. It's something you have to intentionally plan out, organize, and participate in. No one accidentally gets married like this.
@@nauscakes1868 What you don't realize is that relationships are very complicated and many people get into and stay in emotionally abusive or taxing relationships with people who don't value them for all sorts of reasons. It's not black and white. This type of rhetoric is the same that leads to people victim blaming abuse victims because, "oh, clearly they should've known" or "well, they beat them up and emotionally abused them so much! Why do they stay?". Just like we don't know if he's abusive, we also don't know how long she's put up with this behavior, how long she's convinced herself that he does love her, how long she's believed in him getting better. We don't know how she's been raised or how many other relationships she's been in or even if she's religious. There are so many factors that could play into why she's still with him that just saying it's also her fault is tone deaf. You guys have weird preconceptions about women and marriage.
6:08 funniest cut of all time 😂
I don't get how people go through with doing this and not feel ashamed or embarrassed knowing they're the only one laughing at their own "jokes"
They think they are funny/cool and no one in the world could convince them otherwise.
There’s nothing I wouldn’t give to be drinking wine with the bridesmaids afterwards.
I don't understand how people marry someone and then only learn who their partner is years after
they're so desperate to get married they don't even know what they're getting into, a lot of people are just desperate to get married, they see it as the most important thing they can do
Then it's even worse when you realize how expensive it is to get married and then divorce is even worse. Then you gotta deal with it emotionally whenever it gets brought up when things aren't working out. Would rather date someone for years.
Exaaactly. Being in a rush to get married is almost never good. It's how you end up with situations like this, or worse.
Everyone should date and live together for 5 years before getting married. How people get married without living together is beyond me.
You notice his "groomsmen" too? They look like some long lost cousins he scrounged up and a kid.. meaning no friends, obviously
If I got married I would NEVER do this to my wife. This is suppose to be a heartfelt moment and a moment to really tell your wife how much you love her and how much you care about her
Best wishes to you finding your partner someday. 😊

That’s one way to look at it, lol @@nauscakes1868
The only thing we do know is what we can take from this video, that she deserves better.

related to the vids of dudes cake-smashing their wives: so yeah, one huge red flag for a narcissist is they like to ruin holidays and special events.
