Dine and dash is despicable. I worked as a bartender for 2 years during college at a very popular bar that catered mainly to the fraternity/sorority crowd. The Democracy Manifest guy if I remember right was basically an ex-con that was eating at a Chinese food place when they mistook him for a guy that was known to dine and dash in the area. Knowing the system pretty well, and not really knowing why he was being arrested but pretty sure he was innocent this time, he decided he wanted to make a big stink of it to mess with the officers cause "why not" basically. He then apparently gave an interview saying he was trying to deliberately get put in a mental hospital, but gave other ones later saying he basically just started that rumor to see if they'd believe it. So basically, he's just a chaos goblin that decided to mess with everyone because he got annoyed they interrupted his meal
Actually the guy they thought he was wasn't known for dine-and-dashing in the area, he wanted for 19 counts of fraud and receiving stole goods totalling around $70,000. The dine-and-dash part comes from his resemblance to Hungarian chess player Paul Charles Dosza, who was known for dine-and-dashing.
@KamiNoBaka1 makes complete sense, and definitely lines up with all the later interview stuff too since obviously they were more interested in the speech itself and his motivations for giving it than the why of the arrest. I think the key point still stands of he decided to be a chaos goblin since they annoyed him for the interruption when he knew he was probably innocent this time though
The "Democracy Manidfest" guy you mentioned in the beginning actually isn't Paul Charles Dosza, who was a former chess grand master and a serial dine-and-dasher. He's actually an Australian man named Jack Karlson, and he was tracked down and interviewed about the incident almost 30 years later. Rather than dine-and-dashing, he was a serial petty criminal being arrested for credit card fraud. The restaurant owner falsely reported him as being one of Australia's most wanted, leading to an oversized police response and a bunch of press at the scene.

Robinhood doesn’t let you withdraw cash until it’s been sitting for a few days. You can’t sell your stock and cash out on the same day. But this guy is definitely lying he just didn’t wanna pay or had no money.

Dine and dash is despicable. I worked as a bartender for 2 years during college at a very popular bar that catered mainly to the fraternity/sorority crowd. At least two or three times a week, we'd have a customer run up a tab all night and when we went to close it out, the card would get declined. We had to take down their name and if they didn't reconcile the bill within 7 days, that amount was split amongst all the employees and deducted out of our checks. We were being paid $2.35 an hour because we got tips. After deductions, sometimes my checks were under $10. Many restaurants penalize the specific waiter or waitress when a customer runs out on the bill.
That doesn't seem legal to charge employees for customer theft.

*Life Lesson: Whenever dealing with police, it is always best to be polite, honest, and respectful. I know that seems cheesy, but I've literally been set free by cops on multiple occasions when I was totally guilty or at fault, simply because I was super friendly and cooperative. Cops have to do paperwork for everything, so if ur nice and cooperative they might let u go just to avoid the bullshit paperwork. But if u act like an idiot, or if u act petulant, or if ur an asshole, or rude/disrespectful (etc), then cops will usually bust ur ass just to spite u.💀😅
You also probably got really lucky. But I do agree at the very least it makes things a lot easier.
Life lesson: don't rob people
@@13donstalos Technically, that's not a life lesson, tho.... that's just following the law.😅
Also, be white😅
@clsa1370 yeah ngl, one time my younger brother and husband got pulled over for speeding while theyd been hitting a blunt in his car. They said the car was literally filled w smoke when the officer pulled them over, and he knew they had weed in the car, but they STILL somehow got away with just a warning. Definitley a combination of both of them being white and being lucky they got pulled over by a lenient cop lmfao.
I’m gonna start using “chaos goblin” from now on 😂😂😂😂
When the intrusive thoughts win
I saw an interview with him where he says he thinks he was a little drunk
Telling a latin cop that he experienced racism.. barking up at the wrong tree there🤣

I love the police officer is also Latino and he's like "Cállate y siéntate!"
"Gotham deserves a new class of daytrader, and I'm gonna give it to 'em" is one of the funniest things I've heard.
I'm so glad I've never once experienced interactions like the ones you cover in some of your vids
Notice he's ALWAYS trying to get away. Thats why he keeps talking so much, to confuse them enough that he can slip away.
The sweat rolling off of his balding head in the back of the patrol car once he realizes he is caught is comedy
Its still crazy to me that people out there are this delusional. Any sane person would immediately realize they’re in the wrong by not paying for food you ate, especially a $70 tab which aint exactly a small loss
My thoughts exactly. How out of touch with reality do you have to be to think this is okay? How even further out of touch do you have to be to believe somebody else would believe the nonsensical explanation for not being able to pay.
your pfp goes hard for sum reason
Why should you have to pay for food at a restaurant when you don't pay for food when going to your relative's hous efor dinner? Do you feel guilty for not paying your relative money when they invite you for dinner?

I EXPOSED PENGUINZ0 ON MY CHANNEL FOR BEING RACIST
Bro why is no one talking about how fucking hilarious the cop sounds he literally sounds like a stereotypical Italian cop like guys why is no one talking about this!?
"I'm Republican too!"
That one made me laugh. As if the Officer was a Trump supporter or something he would just be like "Oh my so sorry my fellow Republican MAGA amirite? You're free to go!"
he was def trying to suck up to the police officer the whole time lmao he thanked him for his service at some point too. he (reasonably) assumed the officer is likely to be a republican so he grasped at that straw as well as another attempt to suck up to him. he way he jumps from one method to another so quickly i think hes just used to getting out of things by lying and being too annoying for anyone to want to deal with
In the beginning he claimed being a victim of racism too 😂 he is grasping at every charge.
Bro thought he had an IQ of 200. just for the officers to not play along
He missed the decimal.

Fuck getting someone to pull lingo from childhood, puts a big goofy grin on my face.
Dude this guy was mild. One time I was in Phoenix waiting for an uber outside a FedEx, and this balding clearly homeless hippie man walks up to me rambling about the wildest conspiracy theories. He tops it off with telling me all about his "GME stocks" and how "him and the boys on reddit" were gonna stick it to wallstreet or something and I horrificly realize that this is an average wallstreet bets user.
And that's why I wait for ubers indoors now. Longest 15 minutes of my life lmao

You got me to laugh man, that was funny. Can you imagine if this dude actually showed up in Caso Cerrado to sue the restaurant?! Dra. Polo: "Callesé la boca, y aquí me habla en español "bro"... sir, you are entitled to your money, and I'm ordering the plaintiff to pay an additional $200 for the emotional distress he has caused you. Tu calláte la boca niño! He dicho Caso Cerrado!"

I've been addicted to police body cam footage the past couple days and most of them have been including people making their short sentences way longer by resisting arrest and assaulting officers, so I wasn't surprised to hear that this guy did the exact same thing as everybody else
Here's something you also always see in body cam footage:
"You're under arrest."
"Why?!?!"

100%. Shit can happen. Things can go wrong. Might not even be the guy's fault. Maybe there's some issue at the bank, or with the card itself. Happens all the time. Just stay calm and work to resolve the situation. Hell, even if you hideously misjudged how much money you had left and can't pay the bill now.. Ask to work something out. Just be honest about it. People respect honesty a hell of a lot more than some obvious bullshit bluffing.
