    I came up with 20.2 Grains of H110 under the 110 gr Barnes Tac-TX as my hog load for next weeks hunt. I was googling the bullet to see if I could find it cheaper when I found your video, Where 20.2 gr of Win 296 (same powder as H110) ends up taking the day 👍

    Good analysis on both powders. Back in 2016 when this was done, Lil Gun was known to be inconsistent in velocities. Four years later, now 2020, Lil gun powder has improved showing better consistency than before. I recently loaded 50 of the barnes 110 tac-tx with Lil gun 19 grains. I used a 10.5" barrel without suppressor and the groups at 100 yards were really good. I only a suppressor when hunting with my 16" barrel since I need the extra 6" to compensate for the more accentuated drop due to the suppressor. I just finished at 7.5" and I have it set at 25 yards for close quarters with a suppressor. Excellent tight groups even at 50 yds with this smaller barrel. Thanks for the video and your comments.

      Nothing about lil gun has changed..... its just your guns happen to like the pressure curve of it..... also be careful because lil gun burns very hot and will wreak havoc on your barrel.....

    • @robobiss444
      @robobiss444 11 місяців тому

      I know this is an old comment but you should not be seeing ANY “accentuated drop” due to a suppressor.
      POI shift? Sure. You almost always have to re-zero shooting with vs without a can because usually the point of impact will shift. Once it’s re-zero’d the bullet should not drop any more than without the suppressor. If anything, it will drop ever so slightly less as you usually see a small velocity increase shooting with vs without a suppressor.

    We didn't had nowhere near the options that we've got now. When we was developing the round as the .300 whisper, we used a few custom barrels for old model TC contenders with a 8 inch barrel, 11.6, and a 14.9 inch and they shot some loads decent, some poor, and some that was great. We stretched the range of that thing out to 400 yards and we found that it tended to work best in a 9.8-11.4 inch barrels. I got me a 10.5 now in a M15 that actually tends to digest most everything except the subsonic heavyweight loads that people seem to like. My nephew tried to argue with me saying that the .300 AAC was almost the exact same as the .30 TCU and I had to dig out stuff that people proved the Whisper and AAC are nearly identical. I have found that the AAC tends to do better with hotter loads.

    Love your 300 blackout stuff! You are saving me a lot of work. I am expecting my SBR tax stamp any day now. I've already got all the parts to build my upper. It's going to be an 8 in. 300 blackout with an AAC SDN-6 can. I want to hunt deer with it and this load is one I am very interested in. Thanks for sharing!

    I'm glad to see this video come along. My 12.5" super game is non-existent. This is motivation to make it happen. Have you found any local places that sell these bullets? I've checked all of my local big box stores with no success. Also, what is a good price on a box of these? I don't want to get raped.

    I finally got the okay for my 300 SBR so I will be testing these again for it when the barrel arrives. It is a 10.3" BA Hanson Premium. My 16" 300 CMMG carbine gas worked Great with Lil Gun and not so much with W296. I really appreciate all the work you put in. It has helped me Greatly. Are you going to get any Hodgdon CFEBLK early to test? Very interested in how this might work.

    It's not goofy powder, it's not giving you the pressure because of the light bullet. Lil gun is too weak for 110gr especially from 8.5 barrel. H110 19gr is perfect. Remember all copper means higher pressure. 2,245fps from 9.5in barrel.
    Lil Gun needs barrel length to get great velocities. Win 296 and H110 works with shorter barrels and lighter bullets.

    • @Marcus2750-u1t
      @Marcus2750-u1t 4 роки тому

      Copper doesn’t have anything to do with pressure really, and the diff between the two powders is burn rate......

    What was your AOL?
    I had good results with W296, using 140gr FMJ (old 7.5 French ogives, and yes, it is 7.62). Best accuracy was at 17.7 gr with OAL 2.15. Average velocity at 100 meters was 2072 fps with a deviation of 74 fps between Max and Min, from my 10.5" barrel. I am just getting into Lil'gun and can't wait to see if I will like it or not.

    I have a Noveske 8.2’ upper in 300 BLK and cannot get the Barnes 110gr TAC-TX bullet to shoot well with Lil Gun, H110. Even the Barnes factory loads. Shooting super sonic with a Silencerco SpecWar can. We’re talking 2-3’ groups at 50 yards! Everyone raves about the Barnes bullet for hunting and rightfully so but it doesn’t shoot well at all for me. Even in my 16” Daniel Defense upper.

    Hello Im new to 300 AAC re-loading and noticed different max load tolerance based on bullet weight. For example using H110 with a Hornady GMX 110gr bullet the max load is 20.2gr but If I use a heavier buller like a 125gr Sierra Spitzer the max load is 18.7gr using same powder. Why is that? doesn't make sense to me.. Can you please answer that? Ty
