Hi, great video, thanks. I've followed along, but my filters disappear as soon as I do the 'Object to Path'. Please advise how I can solve this, thanks :)
Thanks! In Inkscape 1.3, they changed the way text objects get turned into paths, and all of their filters now get removed. This could be a bug, and hopefully it will get fixed soon. But in any case, in order to get this effect to work correctly now, you have to do Object to Path on the text *before* applying any filters to it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Great tutorial! I wonder if it's possible to create 3D inflated tumbler wraps using Inkscape. I followed along and did well. But I am sure there are a few more steps I haven't figured out yet.
4:55 Ask, i try in Inkscape 1.3 sir when Object To path the effect (Drop Shadow and Specular light) are gone back to normal. any solution for 1.3 inkscape?
In Inkscape 1.3, they changed the way text objects get turned into paths, and it looks like it removes all of the text object's filters. In order to get this effect to work correctly now, you will have to turn the text object into a path *before* applying the shadows and highlights. I had no idea this was the case until now, so I'm glad you pointed it out!
Yeah, they changed the way you "ungroup" text in Inkscape 1.3. Instead of doing Ungroup after Object to Path, you do Split Path, located in the Path menu.
I wish Inkscape had a customisable Bevel menu, just like other design software. This process, while it is good, is too long and time-consuming. I generly work with bevels and other 3D effects. That is why I had to invest in Affinity Designer. If you know how to deal with bevels in Inkscape, could you please make a video on that?

make it union>object to path>split path
Just wow. I really need to sign up to your course if the content is as good as this.
The Cat comes up trumps again! Thanks very much - I will use this effect instead of creating duplicates, then blurring and nudging them.

Nice! Thanks for the video 💯
I tried this out with Creepster from the free Google Font library. Looks cool!
Awesome!
Great tutorial.
Is there a way to save the filter one creates for later use?
Thanks! Yes, it is possible to save them, but it's kind of hard to explain, so I'll put up a video about it in the next day or two.
@@SweaterCatDesigns Thanks, I look forward to it.
Hey, here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/-YPLJzi_28M/v-deo.html
Thanks!
All was good until I tried to object to path, ungroup and change letters and colors. Nothing I could do helped. Any suggestions?
